Hi - I'm 41 and starting to feel it! I'm a mum to an 11 year old son, and nearly 9 year old daughter, and they are growing up so fast. We all race BMX together at weekends (I'm quite new to the sport so got lots to learn), and I also love mountain and road biking too. My metabolism is definitely slowing - takes a lot of…

Hi - another Chch gal here :-) Well, exercise wise, the weekend was excellent for me, but as always I "rewarded" myself with cakes and pudding and now feel quite bloated :-(

Not tried Puhoi, but just bought an EasiYo Youghurt maker and am loving the Raspberry and Cream Yoghurt (delish), and just made a batch of Coconut and Greek which I can't wait to try.

My daughter was 7yrs when we got her a geared bike (21 gears which is perhaps OTT, but the choice was either 0 gears or 21!) We do some pretty technical rides (for a 7yr old) and she uses to top 7 gears, and also "silly" gear (lowest) to get up serious hills. Oh, as for brands ... my son (10yrs) has an Avanti, and my…

I looked around for ages, and ended up with a new phone + strava app. On 2-3 hr rides, battery is not an issue if it's fully charged before the ride as not too much of a drain .. still plenty of juice after for calls if needed. Plus, I have multiple bikes so wanted something that I could use on all the different rides.

I have oats (uncooked porridge oats), yoghurt and whatever fruit it to hand. Bit like this -> http://www.yummly.com/recipe/external/No-cook-berry-oatmeal-351027 Prepared at home, eaten at work as my stomach needs time to "wake-up"

Hi, You need to go and see someone face-to-face to get a diagnosis as it's impossible for a wee description to give you a diagnosis. RICE are your friends ... and then if you haven't already, get to a specialist shoe place and get fitted from some running shoes. When you resume, start gradually - walk / run is the best way…

I did the same in November last year ... Mine was caused by anterior pelvis twist (sticking your bum out) - probably started during pregancies (kids are 10 and 7 yrs old now), so over time the muscle is gradually weakened, So for me, it was re-aligning my pelvis (still have to remind myself to tuck my bum in and under (try…

I've done the 30 ds .. made it through to level 3, but I didn't follow it religiously for 30 days as I do quite a lot of other activities in the week. Did my first Ripped in 30 workout last night - I made it, and found it wasn't too tough (but maybe due to the 30 DS)? I modified some of the moves a little as I'm still…

Try and not get disheartened Emma .. forget what the scales say, and think about all the hard work you've put in. You are making some great changes, and sometimes the scales take a while to catch up with what we're doing.

What you're experiencing is cyclist hand palsy. I get it on some rides depending on how I have my hands - being on the lower drops means you I cut off the nerve by my little finger which causes it. A few things to try: 1) Better padded gloves 2) Padded handlebar tape - you can also get gel pads to go under the tape was…

MsMarlaJean .. why can't you start 30DS? Each workout is 20mins, so even if you did it once or twice a week, it's better than not starting at all

Thanks ... I think this should really be my kick up the bum! Thanks to everyone that has posted - I really appreciate all your replies. I've been on this journey for too long, and just when I start making a little progress I think "this 1 x bad food won't hurt", or "I'll eat better tomorrow" So, as of this weekend just…

Hi .. I've been working my way through the 30 DS but got distracted about md-way through Level 2. August 1st, I'm going to start level 2 again, and my goal is to do 10 x L2 and 10 x L3 workouts in August. I also cycle, and zumba so there will be some days that I won't be able to do the workout.
