  • Very interesting, thanks for that link!! :flowerforyou:
  • Cherimoose, (sorry OP, totally off topic, but I'm curious), don't all athletes stretch just before they perform or am I missing something? I was always taught to do some stretches before I run to warm my muscles up, aaaagh, help, somebody, am I doing more harm than good???
  • I'm from the UK and I grill my cheese sandwiches!! Cheese toasties are pretty common in the UK as far as I'm aware...!
  • This thread was started 2 years ago and has been resurrected twice by two different posters whose first and only post has been to resurrect and comment on this thread. Is it just me or is that just weird?? Why would two random people join a site, find an old post about smelly people, post on it and then never post…
  • I am on 125mcg of Levothyroxin and eat approx 1400-1500 cals per day but then eat back just about all my exercise calories which varies from day to day. I am losing weight, very, very slowly but if I have a lot of days where I eat too much then it goes back on very quickly! It is possible, just tends to be slower than for…
  • If my husband TOLD me to not run in a sports bra, then I would be straight out there in the skimpiest one I could find (which would be a very frightening sight indeed!) but if he ASKED me not to and gave a reasonable reason, then I would cover up. Not because I'm submissive and controlled by my husband but because I love…
  • Oh c'mon guys, please stop saying "don't go", it's just ONE meal!!! Please stop demonising food! I LOVE buffets, I just don't go mad. Have a look what's there, go for the healthier stuff, don't pile your plate up high or go back for loads and loads. I don't like mixing my food, so I go up several times but come back with…
  • At a size 6-8 and 5'6" you are in no way overweight. 800 calories a day is not enough to keep you going. What reason has your doctor given you for suggesting such a low amount? There must be another reason or is he saying you are fat??! Personally I would change my doctor! Go get on the scale, do the Scooby calculator or…
  • Are you saying you exercised for an hour a day and only ate one piece of fruit all day, EVERDAY for FOUR weeks??? Surely not? If you did then that's a mad thing to suggest, your weight loss had little to do with the tablets and more to do with the the exercise and diet! You are very lucky you didn't get very poorly. Please…
  • I drink diet soda (7UP, Sprite, Coke Zero, Tab) every day. Sometimes a couple of cans. I've lost 10kgs so far...

  • It's kind of hard to say really. If you are 6ft and 350 lbs and lose 17 then no, you are possibly not going to see a big difference. If you are 5ft and 130 lbs and lose 17 then you are likely to see a big difference... Don't lose heart, 17 lbs loss is a great start, keep plodding on and then one day, boom, you will see a…
  • I have lost weight whilst not altering my alcohol consumption. Yes, I would probably have lost more if I cut out alcohol. But since I am in this for the long haul and I enjoy alcohol, I flatly refuse to give it up! My journey to my goal weight may take a little longer but I shall be happy all the way! But that's just me,…
  • Wine a no no? No, Never, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :drinker:
  • I'm the same, my brother-in-law who is an osetopath recommended two simple things to do: 1. lay flat on your back in the "surrender" position, this stretches the muscles across the chest, I can't even get my wrists on the floor yet..! and 2. do reverse flies with light weights. I only recently asked if he could think of…
  • I also have flat feet and had my gait analysis done and was recommended Brooks too... I have arthritis in my hips and over-pronate too and was always in agony the day after doing any running and even walking. These trainers have definitely helped. Just a shame they haven't made me any fitter or faster...
  • St Helena, South Atlantic Ocean! Anyone else, No? Sigh, didn't think so.....
  • Brooks Adrenaline for me. Had a gait analysis done and this is what they recommended. Have to say they really did help.
  • Since you like ice-cream, make this one that I make, very easy and well, rather heavy on the calories, so fab for you! 400ml (roughly) of double or whipping cream 1 can condensed milk (I think they are about 400g) (Or basically, same amount of cream to condensed milk, haha) Whip up the cream to stiff peaks, stir in the…
  • Have a look at this thread. It's from last year but may help: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic169931-herbalife-in-dubai--where.aspx . This is also from last year but maybe if you email the person they may be able to assist: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic190457-herbalife-anyone.aspx. There is nothing newer.…
  • Could you not just use an entry for "chicken" , as opposed to looking specifically for diced chicken? They would have the same calories by weight wouldn't they? Or am I being a bit thick and diced chicken isn't just chicken, erm, well, diced? Also, for an item that has, say "1.0" servings of "160g" in the description, and…
  • ^ This. OP, how did you get on?
  • I don't see a problem - just make sure they are eating chestnuts and not conker ones! There are two types of chestnut, one you can eat and the other, well, you can't!
  • Which medication has the doctor prescribed you? Maybe someone on here will have had experience with it and can give you their personal experience with it (although bear in mind that everyone is different). Whilst in a ideal world, all depression could be cured without medication, that is not always possible. If you have a…
  • Cottage pie (cheap mince, onion, garlic and an oxo cube with a mash potato topping, yum!) and veg soup (buy ANYTHING on offer, add a few potatoes and any herbs /garlic you have, boil up or roast and then blitz, also yum!)
  • Oh my word!! Just tried this one. I was a bit dubious, thought it might be a bit like chocolate scrambled egg or something but it was FAB! A minute to whip up, a minute to cook, minute to eat it hot straight out of the bowl! ;) Thank you... :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks! Going to have to try BOTH of those, one for a proper treat day and one for those days when I just NEED chocolate but don't have many spare treat cals left ;)
  • Eat it, savour it, thoroughly enjoy it. Cut down a little on something else and do a little more exercise, sorted! :flowerforyou:
  • As far as I understand from my doctor, the thyroid cannot be mended. You can take / eat things that help but nothing that actaully cures it. However, annoying though that is, as lifelong diseases go, I'll take it! Taking 2 tiny tablets a day is something I can be thankful for, it could be a lot worse.
  • I have hypothyroidism and eat broccoli, cauliflower etc and it hasn't adversely affected my test results. I think you have to eat vast quantities for it to really do any damage.
