I don't need to read a load of hand-picked tosh to know for a fact that eating only certain foods will NOT cure cancer. Don't you think, just using common sense, that if there was ANY SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE that eating certain foods CURED cancer that it would be general knowledge? No-one would keep that a secret now would…

I am going to correct myself, THIS is the bizarrest claim I have ever seen on MFP! Protein helps to build muscles not a concoction of garlic, ginger, lemon, apple and cider vinegar, I don't care how many times a day you drink it! Bet it tastes foul too!
-
Sodium can cause water retention so yes, it can make a difference in weight. As for the rest of your post, NO!! You can simply NOT build 4.5kgs of muscle in a week any which way, never mind because you ate 100g of cottage cheese a day. That has to be the bizarrest claim I think I have heard on MFP!! How did you measure…

I didn't misquote anything, and you are the one that has totally misunderstood what I was saying. I didn't say that she said that plants are the "only diet". I said "eating only"... you misread what I wrote. The poster said, and I quote: They have literally tons of clinical evidence that shows that correct (whole food…

This makes me sooooo ANGRY. So, what you are saying is that there is actual clinical, peer reviewed evidence that eating only plants in the correct combination can reverse CANCER? I am pretty sure that if it was as simple as that the whole world would know about it by now and my lovely friend wouldn't have had to die in…

Maybe today I didn't get chance for breakfast or lunch and fancy a high calorie gigornormous burger or the such for dinner. Maybe I'm trying to put ON weight and the bigger the serving the better for me. Maybe I just want to eat what I want and not be told what's good for me? How can the government decide what's the right…

Hm, not sure, my now 9 year old has always loved spicy things since she pinched from a bowl of Mexican chilli crisps when she was about 10 months old and proceeded to wolf the lot. We tend to have to ask for Tabasco sauce if we go to a restaurant and she has a "spicy" soup.. If we go to an Indian restaurant and they say…

Why? Not in mine, can't bear the stuff!! :D

Not sure about cumin, ginger or especially cinnamon in chilli con carne, especially the amount you recommend. How much meat do you use with that sauce? Why do you need flour? That seems an unnecessary calorie item given that you seem to want to keep it low cal with using low fat mince and draining too. I like onion in mine…

I would cook up a portion of spaghetti, whack on a big spoonful of the meat, since it's already in tomato sauce, grate on some nice sharp / vintage cheddar and thoroughly enjoy it. Freeze the rest and do the same another day... Free food, nom nom!!

Why? Why? WHY would you do that????? You know it's a problem yet you do it again? Ridiculous thing to do. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for any symptoms you are currently suffering.

I've got one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Omron-BF511-Family-Composition-Monitor/dp/B0033AGBVQ/ref=sr_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1502457157&sr=8-6&keywords=omron I quite like it, I know the body fat bit is pretty inaccurate, but it does show me a trend over time as I plot the results on a graph. I have a tiled bathroom…

Dear Mr Judgy-McJudgy-Pants, I am so happy that you and your wife of many years have keeping fit and eating healthily in common. Other couples may have eating and drinking and watching movies in common and may not be feel that they are "letting themselves go" because they put on a bit of weight. They probably love each…

Then you have the wrong friends! I have a good friend who started off at 90+ kgs then started running / being careful what she ate and she started losing weight, I cheered her every step of the way, even when she got down to what I weighed and then went on to lose about another 10kgs below what I weigh. I was so proud of…

No, no, no, you really, really can't!!!!! I wouldn't recommend wet wipes, they can cause a rash in themselves and they don't dry off that well which can cause chaffing. Personally, cotton knickers and a shower after exercise and drying well sorts me out. If you are sensitive down there, use one of the special shower gels…

@middlehaitch , Haha, I always hear him saying it whenever I type it too!! :D I also apologise for the detour...! :)

Oh my word, that sounds way too complicated! Are you on it for medical reasons? If so, what medical condition are you treating? Are you paying for this programme? If so, go back to them and get them to do you a meal plan, if you aren't then stop overthinking losing weight. Just plug in your stats to this lovely free site…

I would try to recreate your favourite fast food things in a more healthy way. For example, you can get good quality beef burgers and nice bread rolls / buns / baps or whatever you call them and make them at home. Put all your favourite toppings on. Then bit by bit cut down on the calorie laden stuff. You could even try…

Yes, it's all about eating less than you burn, CICO (calories in, calories out). You can lose weight by eating nothing but junk food as long as you are under your calorie goal. Whether it's healthy or not is a different argument. I say all things in moderation.

Haha, no, thankfully, but I'm really un-bendy, I've never been able to touch my toes even when I was a kid, so I kind of grunt and "oof" a lot trying to get into most of the positions. I did it when I was pregnant and laughed hysterically all through the course. The only bit I liked was at the very end when you just kind…

Yoga, it makes me giggle!!

How tall are you, what do you weigh and how much are you trying to lose? How long have you been trying to actively lose weight? Unless you are 4'6" (and even then...) there is no way you should be aiming for 800 calories a day unless you are a bariatric patient under doctor's supervision. If you are going to say "I've…

What does your partner say? Can they still smell you? Since they were honest with you in the first place about the smell I'd trust what they say. If after a week of not taking it you still smell then a trip to the doctor may be in order. I used to work with a guy who had fish odour syndrome. That wasn't pleasant in a small…

I took it a long time ago. Please don't do it. I was lucky I never got leakage, but the smell, oh the smell when you do use the loo, awful, terrible, hideous. You can't go in public loos or at a friends house, you get the most disgusting oil slick that you can't get rid of with a flush, or ten, or with a toilet brush and…

All of what you said apart from the black beans, just can't get to like them. But my favourite thing is a couple of massive field mushrooms topped with halloumi or low-fat cream cheese and garlic if I'm looking to cut a few cals, then roasted in the oven... Mmmmm, I'm hankering after mushrooms now and I can't get them…

You sir, are an absolute inspiration. Congratulations on taking control of your life. And well done for realising you can actually eat quite a lot of food and not be miserable and starving if you make the right choices. If only others thought like yourself, it's a lifestyle change, one step at a time. I wish you every…

You have asked something similar several times this week...: Above you say you over ate, but in this thread, on the same day: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10578425/i-gained-6-pounds-in-one-week-help you stated you haven't changed anything apart from the vodka shots. Then on the 18th you posted:…

What went wrong? Don't be disheartened, we all lose our way sometimes and regain weight. Remember how good you felt when you did it before, what an amazing inspiration you were, and repeat the process! Then you can  and  again...
