Welcome! This website/app is seriously awesome. Stick to it and you will see results. x

I bawled my eyes out throughout this game. Some deaths were really well done (but heartbreaking nonetheless). The ending was too postmodern even for me. Bugger speculation! I want this: http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2012/03/16 (not a spoiler). Multiplayer is awesomesauce.

Optifast shakes may be an option even though you're not on the program? I was sitting in a diabetes clinic (as a student) and the doctor recommended it to an obese patient as a nutritionally complete program. I can't comment on cost - however, completely agree on the $$$ of Up and Go!

Your body goes in to ketosis when it doesn't have carbohydrates as a fuel source. Your body can only use the carbohydrates you have ingested and then it will have to continue using fats/proteins as its primary energy source. Just try to be more disciplined in future. :)

All the time. I 'save up' for cheat meals and times when I know I won't be able to stick to my calorie limit.

Pretty sure this type of thing is open to all fitness types. GO FOR IT.

Another medical student here! Bikini season is ending (here in Australia). Last exam period I taught myself to avoid study snacking so I lost consistently. However, once Christmas came around I was stuck at the same weight for a month! So much for having a day or two off.

My face and waist.

Hi everyone! I'm 23, 5'10" with a SW of 93kg (205lbs), a current weight of 80.7kg (178lbs) and a GW of 60kg (132lbs). I've been at this since October last year. x

Apparently it has to do with allowing companies to continue to sell their frozen food products without having to change them in order to meet the new nutritional requirements? Silly America.

I'm second year (just finished exams.) Ye gods I hope I pass. <_> Exercise has gone on the wayside but I'm back in to it tomorrow. I agree it can be really hard when you're exhausted from uni commitments.

I am an asthmatic. If you're having issues, get yourself to a GP/respiratory specialist and get a written asthma action plan.

Discuss switching medications with your doctor. Paxil is an SSRI (which can cause weight gain as a side effect). However, there are other SSRIs/antidepressants/non-pharmacological treatments available.

I have one and use it purely to weigh myself. I've also used EA Sports Active. TBH, despite not being amazingly fit (but still probably above average in fitness), I feel that they don't give me as good as a work out as just going to the gym.

I should probably add I'm aiming for 60kg ultimately (which is 5kg less than my absolute lowest weight). Given that I exercise and weight train now, I may re-evaluate as I get closer as my body shape then was probably skinny-fat and perhaps not a good indicator of how I'll look/feel at that weight now.

I'd give it a few weeks and see if it declines. If you're retaining a lot of water, it could be a lot of things (including high intake). If it doesn't improve, go see your doctor. It's would be highly unusual to be gaining weight/retaining a lot of excess water despite calorie restriction.

I try and keep all variables the same (morning, before breakfast, naked on Wii Fit board [because I have no idea what clothing weighs. Srsly.]) Had you been gaining weight without explanation before starting MFP? Are you logging ALL your food?

Hey there! I'm also 5'10" but I started at ~91kg (I'd actually probably estimate my start weight was 93-4 given the original scales were inaccurate). I'm now already down to 86.8kg after >4weeks. This website/app/system is stupidly good. Being taller means results don't manifest visually as fast, but it also means .. we…

Fantastic job!

Actually, some strains of flu cause more deaths in younger people (young adults) than in traditionally vulnerable populations (the elderly, the young etc). This is because it can cause a cytokine storm.

I really like number 2 TBH. It would look really good with red lipstick.

The only real thing I've noticed (I'm 5'10" and four weeks in - results become apparent more slowly aside from the scale) is my appetite is goneskies. It's a relief - I was worried about starting and feeling hungry all the time. Now it's a struggle to eat enough on some days (compounded by exam and financial stress).…

I'm just going to link this article (written by a scientist for laypeople): http://www.mamamia.com.au/news/vaccination-myths-busted-by-science-cheat-sheet-on-immunisation/ Enjoy.

If anyone's interested, here is a completely legitimate FAQ for travellers to Australia: http://www.amazingaustralia.com.au/faq.htm

Another Australian here. The metric system is for winners (I'm allowed to say this - I've had to use both given I lived in the UK for years!) :P

Cognitive behavioural therapy is super awesome for this sort of stuff. There's a good website (which is free): moodgym.anu.edu.au/ Hope it's helpful. :)

I'm a full time medical student, as well as also being a casual barista and receptionist (two jobs). :)

I do a majority of the cooking (I enjoy it - skill building). However, my husband does ALL the kitchen related cleaning. I do all the laundry. It's pretty even.
