Have a specific goal in mind to accomplish with your workouts. For me, the concept of "working out is just something you do until you die" never stuck with me, and I hated it. But I set a goal in my mind to complete a triathlon race. So now when I work out, it's to get stronger so that I can meet my goal. It could be a…

I hear that...I have to stop buying them. Every time I get them I scarf way more than I should.

Not me, but the gal behind me at Chipotle at lunch today. She ordered a burrito with double rice and double cheese with a bag of chips. No meat, no vegetables, no salsa, nothing. 1440 calories for all of that starch. I can't imagine that would fill you up whatsoever.

She's had some fairly consistent constipation/IBS issues/headaches over the years, however not on a daily basis...so that leads me to think she doesn't have celiac's per se, but could be slightly intolerant. She works closely with a doctor who also specializes in nutrition, and recommended this as a trial to see if that…

I do a lot of our cooking, so hopefully that will help...although I didn't know about things like ketchup and bouillon having gluten. That's good to know. She's done alright with losing weight too (she's also on MFP), but for as hard as she's worked and how she's hit her calorie goals for several months, she's disappointed…

I workout on my lunch break too...with having little ones and a SO who works all sorts of weird hours, it's the only reliable time of day that I can do it. We have a shower at our office (luckily), but on the days that it's in use and I need to get going, I'll wet a washcloth and clean out of the sink. That with some…

I'm getting ready to enjoy the one day this year that the Cubs will be on top of the division! I am a big fan of the rebuild however....2017 will be AWESOME.

To echo what others said, I still eat two snacks a day as always, I just try to snack on lower calorie things like fruit, greek yogurt, veggies or nuts. I've noticed that if I do that, I tend to eat smaller meals as well to compensate. It all balances out.

Some sugar is fine, and would probably help with your headaches or feeling shakey. Just try to avoid the refined sugars, and get your sugar from things like fruit or honey. A little bit of sugar isn't a bad thing. A blog was actually posted on just this issue which could help to identify added sugars:…

1) My fingers have gotten too small and my wedding ring doesn't fit anymore. Going without for a while until I get closer to my target weight. 2) I took my son to the park yesterday, and played on all of the equipment with him. Running, jumping and climbing around after him. Just a few months ago, I wouldn't have been able…

I've been trying not to go off the rails for an entire day, but maybe a meal or two a week. I try to eat well the rest of the day so I still stay within my limits or just go barely over. For me, it's a way to not get burned out...I like the foods and I like, and I'm still going to eat them...just not nearly as often or as…

I'm going to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight, and out of curiosity I looked up how many calories my old "go to" meal was...12 boneless wings with Parmesan Garlic sauce and a side of fries. 2700 CALORIES?!? No wonder I put on so much weight...

They use a lot of mango and banana in their dishes too, which tastes pretty good. If you're staying at a resort like I did a few years back, there will be plenty of healthy options if you want to stay on plan. My personal favorites from that trip were the jerk chicken, beef patty (it's sort of like a turnover filled with…

Hi Everyone, My name is Steve and I'm 30 years old. I'm planning on completing my first sprint-tri in August. I was a competitive swimmer for 11 years, but ended a little over a decade ago. Since then I've gotten married, had a child with my amazing wife...and put on about 70 pounds. I was fairly content with my lot in…

My wife and I will bulk cook once a month...we make one huge trip to the grocery store and make 8-10 dinners and 5-6 breakfasts in one weekend. Most of the meals are either crock pot or in trays that you can pop in the oven. Also a few smaller meals that we put in microwave containers. If a meal is 6 servings, we will…

You could try something like E-Meals...there's a cost associated with it, but you can get full meal plans with shopping lists included. I've not done it, but I've heard good things. If nothing else you could use it as a base, then google around to find something similar for free. http://www.emeals.com/meal-plans/

Same here! I'm targeting the Ludington Lighthouse race late August. Are there any good training regiments out there? I've been doing an extended version of C25K (up to 24 minutes running, 6 walking), and swimming between 1200-1500 a week for three days a week a piece. Adding in the bike worries me though. I don't have a…

Seems like a cool idea. I'm 30 years old, 5'10 with a starting weight of 246 back in October. I'm down to 227 now and trying to get under 200 pounds, and to be able to do a sprint triathlon by the end of summer.

My wife and I always tried to sabotage each other all the time. If one of us was trying to be good, the other wasn't. It's been like this for years, but we're both now working together to do better. For example, we were going out last Saturday night...and we knew it was a blow off meal. We were both going to enjoy…
