Oh, and I agree that the whole one or two days of eating well below your caloric target does not induce "starvation mode". Kinda silly. Almost as silly as "muscle weighs more than fat". A pound of muscle and a pound of fat both weigh. . . .a pound!
-
That might be great and scientific and all that. . . . But, if you CAN eat a "normal" amount of calories and lose weight, why wouldn't you want to do that? Aren't there going to be some metabolic repercussions when you restrict your calories to a ridiculously low amount, and then STOP doing that? I'm reminded of the low…

I think they're okay once in a while, but I wouldn't make a habit out of them personally. I like some of the pizzas. I am far more satisfied if I bring last night's leftovers to work, or a big salad. It's real food and keeps me satisfied so much longer. It also does not blow me up like a tick with all that sodium.

No offense intended, but DWLZ has a whole lot of inaccurate information. I usually google and find a couple sources of NI for something and compare them. Here is the NI I found for the cheddar biscuit: Nutrition Facts Serving Size: 1 biscuit Amount per Serving Calories 150 Calories from Fat 51 % Daily Value * Total Fat 8g…

How big of a calorie deficit are we talking? You already have a calorie defecit built in. You should be eating your target calories every day.

I just finished workout 10 of 24 on my second 6 week challenge on EA Active More Workouts. I don't feel like 20 minutes is enough these days, and I don't think it's enough cardio, so I usually add either 1 or 2 10 minute step segments. Sweaty!

Excellent piece.

I think I'd scale it back, personally. Mercury is pretty scary. Just ask the Mad Hatter!
-
I used to do the Firm (a different incarnation) and I counted it as circuit training.
-
I went over calories minimally, fat more so and sodium was off the charts. I didn't touch a drop of alcohol. I'm pretty proud of that!

I have one really amazing sports bra that holds the Double D sisters firmly in place! I call it my iron bra. I can't remember the brand, but I bought it at the Hanes outlet store. I've also had an Enell in the past, and they're terrific.

No alcohol for me on this Super Bowl Sunday. I worked out hard this morning. I'm having some chip and dip, and some buffalo chicken dip. I'm counting every calorie, even if I go over, but I'm all about enjoying good stuff in moderation. Except alcohol. I'm really trying to give that up, and if I do have a moderate amount,…

Grocery shopping I would never count. Even if I'm doing the grocery store sprint, it's just not something I count. Nor do I count light housework. But if I'm moving furniture and scrubbing floors and vaccing and sweating, I do count it. Usually if I clean for 3 hours like that, I'll count it as one hour of cleaning.

Haaaaa! I had to youtube it the first time I read about it here, as I'd not seen the informercial. I saw a clip from Ellen where she was using it. Absolutely hilarious. I think I'd be laughing way too hard to ever use it.
-
Congrats! That is too cool.
-
That's quite an accomplishment! You should be proud of yourself.

Haa! I'm laughing at the short yellow rope! One of my dorky cats likes to bite at mine while I'm using it. He put a hole in it. I tied a knot where he bit to secure it. I have 3 bands of varying strengths I can use when it breaks for real. They're all tighter than the EA Active one. My leg strap is pretty tired already and…

Excellent! Congrats. I find your posts very informative and logical. Good luck with the new gig!

I get so excited about the trophies on EA Active. In the past couple days I got the 50 workouts completed trophy, and 10,000 calories burned. Silly to care because the calories are way off, but I'm still proud of my "trophy"!

This morning it was 1/2 a Thomas' double oat and honey bagel with 1 T of natural PB. I have to workout this AM so it was just enough to get me going without making me feel icky. I mix it up on work days-1/2 a bagel, light string cheese, Whole grain English Muffins, fruit. I don't usually eat until 8:30 or 9 in my office.

I used to do that, too. I thought I had to. Now my kids are older ( 9 & almost 12), and they can wait for dinner while I work out! I actually have more energy then, after work. On weekends I get up, drink coffee and eat something light, then work out "first thing", but I function so much better doing it this way. It's…

What a milestone! Way to go.

You so totally rock! I'm in awe. Way to GO!!

Every day you wake up with a clean slate :) Good luck getting the train back on the tracks. I know how hard it can be.

It's a personal trainer/fitness game that goes with the Wii. You can use it with or without the Wii Fit Balance board. I love it!

Hi Sonya! I'm in my second 6 week challenge on EA Active More Workouts and I've had it set to medium intensity since the last 2 weeks of the first challenge. It just adds a few more sets in, and ups the intensity on things like follow the leader and the obstacle courses. I don't think you'll regret it. I usually add in 10…

Hey everyone! The watersports and squash etc are a part of EA Active More Workouts. They are under "custom and preset workouts". There are a ton of preset workouts targeted at upper, lower, cardio, abs. I only have More Workouts, not the first one.
-
Tibur, Have you looked under preset and custom workouts? I'm fairly certain there are a few ab intensive preset workouts there. I love going in there and building "fun" workouts on rest days. I'll do lots of cardio boxing, squash, paddle surfing and water skiing.

TeeTee, How are you laying on the floor for the reverse crunches? I find it's messed up if I don't lay on the floor with my feet toward the tv and the wii sensor. I absolutely hate those!
-
Still going strong! I'm in the second week of my second 6 week challenge on EA Active More Workouts. I workout 4 times per week at medium intensity and am supposed to have 3 rest days. I did fun cardio stuff on my last two rest days, so I've worked out 6 days in a row! I'm so ready for a rest day today. I did some reverse…
