Seriously, do you think you can maintain this level of caloric intake and increased activity for life? Because otherwise, your time at goal will be short lived. I've lost 23 pounds since December and many many inches, and I am comfortable knowing that my healthy lifestyle is something I can stick with forever. I lost 40…

I just came off of a major plateau of about 3+ weeks. I just kept plugging away and tracking my food. Very interesting about each 10#, because this was after a 20# loss! I also increased the intensity of my workouts. I know that plateaus can be frustrating, but to me they're a whole lot better than gaining! So just wake up…

Nice!! Thank you for sharing. :)

A pound a week is a fantastic loss. Real life isn't the Biggest Loser.

I am so sorry for your farmily's loss. Take care of yourself. I trust that you can get through this and make good choices. (((hugs))) How very sad.
-
Thank you for sharing, and congrats to you for owning this, and working really hard to get past it.

Excellent! Way to shake things up.
-
Funny! I'm pretty sure it'll take at least 2 weeks.

Hummus is a wonderful dip made from chick peas that is great with vegetables. It's tasty, and good for you, too. It's usually in the cold case near dairy stuff. :) You might be surprised that by increasing your calories you start to lose weight again. When I started, my calorie target was right up there. As I lose weight,…

Your daily intake isn't nearly enough. Eat the whole English muffin, put butter on, eat hummus with your 2-3 carrots. You're starving yourself. Is this a lifelong sustainable eating plan you are on? Because if I ate that way, after a short while I'd say the heck with this. Undereating does not equal fast weight loss. Read…

Undereating and no exercise? Um okay!

I don't get it either! I think maybe they're trying to convince themselves they are satisfied on so little. I think the backlash binging/overeating that results from consistent caloric deprivation is perhaps what keeps many people from losing. I always have to pipe in that eating has never been a problem for me, and that I…

Fanfreakingtastic! You look fabulous, and you totally rock! Good luck kicking that last 16 to the curb. You obviously can do it!

Chobani. MMMMMMMM!

I got some amazing Asics (in a hideous color) at Kohl's for $13.99. They always have tons of great sneakers when I go in there. I personally can't stand New Balance. They give me shin splints.

And if you're not at 160 by May, where will you be mentally? Timed goals can be soul crushing. That much of a gain in a day is not a real gain. You WILL fluctuate daily. If you can't handle the daily fluctuations, you should probably stay off the scale except for once a week at the exact same time. Also, eating "under"…

You're always burning calories. Remember that your BMR is the calories you'd burn if you just laid around breathing!

Oh and usually fruit on the bottom flavored. This morning I had the non fat pomegranate. Delish! 140 cals 15% of my calcium and 14 g of protein.

More calories, but to me worth it for the quality. I will never ever eat an aspartame laced yogurt again!
-
I'm down 20# in 3 months eating my daily target and ALL of my exercise calories. :) It works if you let it!
-
If you're finding your workouts too much, by all means cut down to 3-4 days/week. If you're doing it to try to play "scale games", I guess I think it makes more sense to continue to exercise and stop stressing about a number on a scale. If you're doing everything right, and you're within 5 pounds of your ideal weight,…

Fantastic! What a difference. You look absolutely fabulous. I know I don't have to tell you to keep up the great work.
-
Are you certain you are measuring in exactly the same places?

This drives me ape as well. It's just plain wrong! A pound is a pound. I realize muscle is smaller and more dense than fat, but that's not what you're saying when you say "muscle weighs more than fat".

MFP all the way, baby! The only thing I use sparkepeople for is the recipe calculator, and I've never even joined to do that. I just don't save any of my recipes. I take all the NI and plug them in here, so don't need to save there. Clearly, the only small thing lacking from this fabulous website is a recipe calculator!

Heh heh. Not so much! Lifelong, die hard member of Red Sox Nation, here. I'm very excited for the upcoming season, as always. Not much longer.

Well, since I'm at the starting gate, I'm trying not to worry about the finish line, or in this case, life after the race. I know my motivation may wax and wane, but I am commited to not letting my dedication ever do the same. Wake up every day and commit to making it a healthy one. That's all we can do.

I like the grilled southwest chicken salad. It's not something I'd eat ever day, but if I'm on the go it's good and not too bad calorie wise.

Thank you so much for sharing Stormie. I was wondering what your test results ended up being. I think that was some great information. Best of luck going forward. Nice to hear that you're on the right path. :)

You're going to love it, Jerzeebabie! Today I got my "halfway there" trophy. I'm three weeks into my second 6 week challenge, and I've not missed a schedule workout in that entire 9 week period. I'm pretty proud of myself. I feel super strong.
