after I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I got an infection in the lower socket that flared up to the size of a golf ball in a matter of hours. I went to the ER, they called an oral surgeon, he opened the dental clinic (next door) and did the surgery at 7 am. He said if I had waited a few more hours I could have died from…

I got an abscess after getting my wisdom teeth pulled and went to the ER at 6 am. They called an oral surgeon. He said it was a life threatening abscess and he did emergency surgery on me. I was a student (yes students can take care of their health).

I just peeked at your diary, and I have a feeling you are going over because of the biscuits, not the fruit. ;P

Obligatory response: Sugar is sugar. It matters more to some people than others. If you are diabetic or insulin resistant, pay attention to sugar. If not, ignore it.

I always do. For me, I find that cardio reduces my cramps big time.

CardioTrainer works for me!

All I know is, if I was doing the majority of the housework for two people, the probability of my divorce would skyrocket.

"Take it to a seamstress" IS help.

Step 1, learn how to sew on a project other than the wedding dress. Multiple projects, in fact. Step 2, several years after you are married, you may be ready to attempt the wedding dress.

Some bars have a minimum order of drinks, especially if you are in a big city like NYC where every seat costs the bar money. The bars are so tiny and the rents are so high that they really do not want to have people there who are just taking up space. You should order something even if it is not alcoholic. If you are in a…

They are a business, and if you are sitting in a chair and not eating, you are costing them money. So it's not a nice thing to do to the restaurant. If you are in a big group it is not as bad, but with only three people and two adults not eating, that's kind of rude.

the mask SUCKS! take the damn jab, it's not a big deal.

for reals?? coughing from HELL (my neighbors thought I was gonna die), fatigue from hell, not to mention the aching body. that was two weeks of my life. then for six weeks after that, I had postviral fatigue syndrome. it was like mono. I was EXHAUSTED. I was at work, but every two hours I desperately needed a nap. Every…

guess what? thalidomide is a good drug, when used for the RIGHT reasons in the RIGHT people! it is a great drug for treating leprosy, as well as some complications associated with HIV. drugs are powerful things, but they are AMAZING when used correctly.

how did you know it was the flu? The flu, the REAL flu, is absolutely debilitating. it's like being hit by a truck. I got H1N1 in 2010. I was one of the first cases in my city. it was horrible. I was competely unable to go to work for two weeks. I was working at a military base and was banned from the premises. Then for…

In the case of the second article, you are right, they didn't mention swabbing. I had seen that in another one that I didn't post. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10675165 you clearly have a strong research background and will be able to find fault with every one of these clinical studies. I get that and honestly don't…

You didn't actually look at the links, I see. The cases of influenza were laboratory confirmed with swabs and PCR. it was right there in the abstracts.

list some LEGITIMATE doctors and scientists who believe it. Mercola doesn't count.
-
there are people who want to link earthquakes with the US government ... we call them "wrong"
-
Like Mercola? He doesn't understand how the immune system works.
-
there is zero connection between vaccines and autism, sorry. The one study that showed it was a fraud.
-
Yes, and that's why we are seeing outbreaks of whooping cough all over the place now.
-
THis is absolutely not true. Earlier in this thread I cited several studies that show it DOES reduce the number of patients getting the flu, and I could easily have kept on listing more studies. It was very easy to find them by googling. The legal stuff is another issue entirely and I'll let you guys fight that one out,…

The flu shot for the last couple of seasons has actually been pretty good. Immunizing health care workers has been demonstrated over and over to reduce flu in patients. so yes, it does benefit others.
-
Persons with compromised immune systems often CAN'T get the shot, that's why it's important for people around them to get vaccinated.
-
sorry, but that is not true. There is lots of research that shows vaccinating healthcare workers really does reduce case of flu in patients. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15566025 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8985189…
-
The shot actually prevents three different flu strains.
-
Magically immune, no. Actually immune to three influenza strains, yes! I will take that over 0% immune any year. I 've had the flu and it was DEBILITATING. Side effects of the shot are rare, and I'd rather take my chances with that, than get the flu again.
