Hi! I'd be happy to do that. I've already started that route--i'm not 100% by any means, but getting there! I just started my "journey" here; I'm not up for a marathon, but I do plan to run a couple 5 Ks this year--maybe even fit in a 10K. Also, there is a magazine called "Clean Eating" that is GREAT. Tosca Reno…

I've just started, too. Friend me, if you like, and I'll be happy to cheer you on. I'm 186, with my ultimate goal in one year to be 135. So that's one lb a wk goal. My first short term goal is 8 lbs by Aug 1. I really believe it's gonna happen this time because I KNOW I have a sincere and correct attitude this time. Good…

Read my blog post--it explains what keeps me going, even though I haven't seen any actual change in my weight yet. However I do already physically feel better, which is GREAT! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FocusPlease Good Luck and feel free to "friend" me, if you like.

If you eat meat, you can get a pork shoulder/loin (thawed) and cover it with your favorite salsa, stir it occasionally, so the meat falls apart. It makes great soft tacos with your favorite fixin's.

you and your wife are great inspirations! Keep up the great teamwork!

Yes, you do, but I'm not sure how they are figured. Walking for 30 minutes at brisk pace may earn you something like 2 extra points, but yoga for an hour earns 3. They also recommend getting a minimum of dairy (if you can, of course), veg/friut servings, etc. So that you get a daily well-rounded intake. At the very least,…

I love your determination (jumping on MFP when you really wanted a snack)--that is great and will work wonders. It is amazing when you see the math of your numbers working out. I've just started, too, so am still getting accustomed to spreading out my food into several small meals, and I've finally began exercising (what…

I used to use the elliptical a lot at the gym and liked it because it seemed to burn more calories in a lesser amount of time, so it was nice when I was limited on time. And of course, if you do the one with the arm movement bars, it's more of an all-over workout. BUT--we bought a couple months ago a stationary bike…

I noticed your goals are/have been similar to mine--friend me if you like, and we can keep cheering each other to our goals. Take care!

Congratulations!! Quite a few years back I did the same thing. Lived near a bay area where there were regular 5K competitions, so I decided to try one a month and try to improve my time with each one. I was never concerned with winning the race, just improving my own time. I think after about 6 or 8 of them I had a…

Fantastic--I'll be happy to lose 21 lbs, even if it takes twice as long! Congratulations! Keep up the great work, and glad to hear how great you feel! Feel free to friend me, if you like. I'm just starting my life change, but am very excited to do so!

Wise and wonderful words, my friend. : )

I'm from "across the pond", but friend me if you like. Hope to help reach your goals! I've owned 30 day shred for awhile, as well as Jillian's "frontside/backsie" 2 dvd set; I've done the latter occasionally and like it, but have yet to do shred. It has taken me quite awhile to get out of a poor attitude about exercise,…

This is a great beginning for you! I LOVE this site, and I've only been on it a couple weeks (had a bloated weekend that slowed me down, but I'm back on track). It is sooooo easy to track things here, and there is such an encouraging support fan base here. I'm horrible at any other journaling, but here--I'm on it as much…

I'd love to join all of you. I can probably do it every other day or so. Will keep you posted if i see results! Good Luck (with some hard work, of course) to all of you!

Awesome!! Congratulations! Soooo happy for you!

I agree! Let's help each other! Different things work for different people. (Although I have to admit i get disappointed when it appears someone is still looking for a quick fix, as it probably means they haven't fully absorbed a truly healthy life change.)

I think so. Lord knows I've gone up and down a lot. Admittedly, though, I am not a consistent exerciser. I was on Weight Watchers at one time, and I recall them telling us that sometimes it can take a whole week for a "bad" day or week to show up on the scale. did you allow yourself a splurge day that may have backfired?…

Welcome! I'm sure you'll do great, just really think positively!! (Easier said than done, i know--that's why I'm here, too!): ) "Friend" me, if you like. I just signed on, too, and I noticed our weight goal is similar--we can keep each other on track.

FANTASTIC! Exactly what I needed to hear--such an inspiration, thank you! And CONGRATULATIONS!! Keep going!!
