  • Thanks, it was very helpful. I'm not too worried about myself now. But, I still don't know what to do when I have to take the little ones with me. I don't have a treadmill so running inside isn't an option. But, my husband is up and out by three and therefore in bed by seven. My baby and two year old have to go everywhere…
  • I have never done a 5k yet, but I'm hoping to be ready for one in provo in april. It's called the Temple to Temple race, from provo temple to the old tabernacle site. I really want to do it for the personal accomplishment, but also because all the proceeds go to such a great cause. Hopefully, I'll be ready for it. It's…
  • Thanks everyone for your great advice. I think they do have a running store close by, 26.2 runners or something like that. I'll check it out.
  • I have similar problems. So cold here, so outside is hard. I like a bunch of different videos, but I tend to lose interest after a while, so I have to keep switching them around. Here are a few I like. I do Dancing with the Stars: Latin Cardio Dance (if you like Zumba, maybe this?) Billy Blanks Elite Tae Bo The Biggest…
  • I have always loved baking goodies to give away at this time too. Last year, I decided to do something different and made meat rubs instead that they can use on all kinds of meats to grill or bake and stay healthy. This year I'm thinking of doing pakcets of mulling spices for apple cider and such. I think they'll be a big…
  • Is this your first time breastfeeding? any other children? I'm on my third baby right now, nursing him at six mths now. From my past experiences nursing my other two, I know I get a lot of milk, never have run out before I decide to wean. When I decided to lose weight, I was a little nervous about losing my milk, so I…
  • Thanks for the tips. I'm not too worried for myself now. Just the kids. My husband is up and out by 3 in the morning, therefore he's in bed by 7 ish. So, to run by myself without the kids is not possible during the week, only on sat. I have a double stroller with my baby in his infant carrier, bundled with a blanket and…
  • Hear's the recipe for my meat rubs. I had a baby then, so I used empty baby food jars, use whatever you like. Oh, and it's a good idea to make a list of ingredients that you put in, if you don't know the allergies of the person you're giving it too. Meat Rubs SPICY CARRIBBEAN 1 t black pepper 1 t. thyme leaves 3 T brown…
  • I have PCOS too, and totally agree with this here. Don't let it become an excuse. Use it as your motivation. Since I've been losing weight, I've felt soooo much better.
  • I had this problem last year and made homemade meat rubs instead to give away. Just add to their favorite meats and grill, bake, roast, etc. Very healthy, you don't have to add oil, and it's already so flavorful. I can find my recipes if you want.
  • I can totally understand. I also suffer from PCOS. I am at SAHM to my three boys, 8,2,6 mths. I hate that I can be so good all month, and then fall apart for that one week. Although with my messed up hormones sometimes it's more than a week, sometimes more than once a month. So, I totally get the hormonal problems you're…
  • I agree that the blame of this lies on the parents. I have an 8 yr old, who has been skinny since he was born. Always healthy, but just so thin. At times I think of ways I can fatten him up. The thing is he does eat healthy. Sure I let him have treats here and there, he's a kid, it's part of childhood. Denying him sweets…
  • Just figure out what it would be for the whole can prepared (so all the servings) then divide it by the amount you ate. So, If your soup is 60 calories per 1/2 and it has 2.5 servings, then: the whole can (with added water) would be 150 calories. If you only ate half of the soup, you ate 75 calories, make sense?
  • Everybody is different, which is why some of your friends lost and some people don't. Your IUD doesn't affect this at all, according to what my doctor told me. I am nursing my almost 6mth old too (he was born June 14), and it has been a life saver. I don't know if could be losing what I do without him. He is my main source…
  • I brought my first pair of knee boots this year, was so excited. I've always felt too fat for boots, my legs especially. It doesn't make sense, but that how I felt. Finally, after 40 lbs lost, I thought it would be nice to have some boots. So, I tried some on, fell in love with one pair, and brought them. I love them, they…
  • I don't know the specifics of the nutrients, but I do like them. I like the 90 calorie Fudge Brownies the best. If I've been good all day, it's my treat at the end of the day. Or, if I'm going out grocery shopping, I take one along so that the hunger bug doesn't tempt me to buy something I'll regret later. It tastes good…
  • You could do this ^^ with the light version of egg nogg to make it lower calorie. I also love using pumpkin pie spice in the milk for our french toast, a big hit in our family at this time of year.
  • You've done a wonderful job, congrats! Never forget what you've accomplished thus far, it will be to easy to focus only on what you have left to do, and that can get discouraging at times. Keep those pics close to remind you of your success!!!
  • Sorry, that doesn't happen for me. It came from my face, hands, feet and is slowing working towards the middle. I have always had a large chest and would LOVE to lose a little there, but isn't happening yet. Maybe by the end of my journey:)
  • Completely agree with this!!!!
  • Please don't stop eating Breakfast because of this. Breakfast is so important, gives you energy to start the day and it starts your body burning more calories sooner. Would you rather up your metabolism in the morning or at lunch? What are you having for breakfast? When you have simple carbs like fruit, bread, and most…
  • Hey, I totally understand how you're feeling. I did okay over the holiday, didn't gain. But, I let myself completely off the hook on Thanksgiving, ate whatever I felt like eating. Problem was, I got full so quickly. I tried to keep eating, when else do I get my favorite Mashed Potatoes and Pie!!!! I just go full quicker…
  • Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm hoping to drop all X's. Only down part is then I'll have to buy more clothes. Oh, well, it's worth it!
  • I love having oatmeal in the morning, warms me right up. I have this topping I won at a Pampered Chef party called Sweet Apple Sprinkle. I put some of that on my oatmeal and it's delicious and only 15 calories per serving.
  • I have the same concern. I have always been a little heavier chested. But, after three kids, it's a little sad. They're so big. I'm still nursing my last baby, so I'm not hoping to lose a lot there yet, but when I'm done I'm hoping they will shrink up a little. I know that gaining weight pushes that fat layer bigger, so…
  • Don't let that get to you. If you have goals and dreams, stick with them. We can't let others discourage us from our journeys. Besides that image in your head, what's the difference between a jogger and runner anyways? Were you doing your best, then that's all that matters. Besides, I know plenty who feel a successful…
  • The first time I took a spinning class I was done before the class was over too. They are intense, something you just don't expect. But, I just kept going and it got easier. Not easier like it was a breeze, just easier to handle. It's a great hard workout, probably one of my fav ways to exercise. Just keep going back!
  • I was going to let myself eat what I wanted to, whatever it might be. But, lately I've been noticing that I just can't overeat like I used to. I feel full sooner, and when I try to get seconds even I'm uncomfortable. I don't how much I'll really be able to indulge!
  • I definitely do! Except mine is by my birthday, Dec 22. I'm 9 lbs away from the one hundreds, or "onederland". I haven't seen that number since my first baby, 8 years ago. I'm super excited to reach that milestone!!!!!! Good luck to you!
  • Check out this blog for some great recipies. She takes normal favorites and makes them healthier but just as delicious. I've already tried the Skinny Garlic Mashed potatoes and Baked Zucchini Sticks, both were fabulous and well received by the rest of the family. I can't wait to try the Crockpot Chicken Taco Chilli and…
