I had my knee replaced in March. I was all set to eat at maintenance and then found that with the pain meds, I couldn't eat much of anything. For a while I called it the Oxycotin diet:smokin: I'd suggest you play it by ear. Your body will burn a lot of fuel just trying to heal and that needs to be your focus. And don't…

If you can, take it back. You can get a Polar on eBay for just a few bucks more - with a chest strap. I've never EVER had anything on my HRM be HIGHER than the MFP value. Usually MFP is double what my HRM shows.

More protein, less carbs. Greek yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, nuts, fish...

Baby bottle - our son was brand new, my hubby was working 2nd shift. I'd spent the night with my son who had thrown up on our bed, ruining the only set of sheets we had and he was generally fussy. Hubby came home, looked at me on unmade bed with son and asked something stupid, can't tell you what it was anymore, and I…

^THIS - can't stress enough how important it is to make small changes, too many, too big, too fast = overwhelmed and failure.

I have a PT4 as well, no luck in a chlorine pool either. I've seen ads for a specific swimming one but it was pricey...

Polar 4 & I agree with giglqueen, the watch is more annoying than the strap. I like it because I don't need any other software to adjust the settings (weight, age, etc) it's all done right on the watch. It's super easy to use, push a few buttons. The only problem I have is remembering to hit start the 2nd time after it…

As far back as I can remember I was overweight. I can remember being 120+ pounds in 5th grade.

"I didn't recognize you" - one of the best things said to me EVER and it doesn't get old One night at dinner I made a comment about a larger woman (not her weight) and my husband said "you're just saying that since you're not fat anymore" (which I still am, but oh boy, what a fantastic moment)

That was such a huge milestone for me - and then to have that reflected at the next Dr's visit where it somehow feels "more gone" - bestest! Congratulations!

Oh this too - boil a bunch of eggs, peel them and keep them in water in the fridge. Take one out for a snack. I always try to be sure that everytime I eat I have SOME protein - never eat pure carbs, of any kind.

Plain greek yogurt & add a scope of protein powder, toss in 1/4 c fresh fruit if you're inclined. I'm having chocolate yogurt this morning for breakfast!
