I still have an occasional Coke. Not everyday, but probably 2 times a week. Just one 12 oz. can or one glass at a restaurant and that's it. No refills. I don't think having more than one serving in a day is a good idea because of this high sugar content, but I also don't do artificial sweeteners so it's either real Coke or…

Dang! That sounds gooooooood! Could easily use ground turkey, that's what I use when I make taco meat.

I would call it a treat day and splurge on something you love!

I have two boys myself and know that boys are ALWAYS hungry. First tip is to create a shelf in the pantry where they can eat whatever they want from - snacks like fruit, protein bars, etc. and a shelf in the refrigerator that is the same. They are not allowed to eat anything that is not on that shelf without asking. I did…

Man! That's what I was gonna say!

You can definitely do this! I'm a personal trainer and one of my clients is just 14 and she's lost about 35 pounds so far with about 15 more to go. It's totally changing her life to finally lose this weight! I've given her the guidance, but she does the work - she keeps track of her calories and does her workouts on the…

I agree that you should have probably taken more time to recover post-race. It doesn't mean you can't do any activity, but I would avoid plyo, sprints and other high-impact activities in the first 2-3 weeks after a half or full marathon. Swimming, yoga, light weights and easy slow runs are probably best. Everyone is…

17 miles this week - 44 for the month!

Every 2 miles should be fine. The first marathon I did I drank WAY too much water before the race and in the first several miles and kept having to stop to use the bathroom. The second one I did I just only drank one cup at each water station and only used the bathroom once the whole race. We are always hearing "Stay…

If you like documentaries - I highly recommend "Spirit of the Marathon". Now I'm a runner so I may be biased, but I loved it. It's on Netflix to stream.

I love giving my opinion so here goes... 1. BEST CEREAL IN THE ENTIRE WORLD? Kellogg's Raisin Bran 2. BEST healthy CEREAL IN THE ENTIRE WORLD? Kellogg's Raisin Bran 3. HOW WOULD YOU DOCTOR UP A BOWL OF OATMEAL? Sliced almonds, Smart Balance, splash of milk, raisins or dried cranberries 4. FAVORITE PASTA DISH? Spaghetti…

I passed! And I'm 36. I run 4 days a week and do resistance training on my legs one day a week (squats, lunges, kicks). There's hope!

36! :drinker:

10 miles this week - 27 for the month.

Start simple - frying an egg is actually not easy! Scramble them instead - you can't mess that up! And you can easily make sandwiches, salads, baked chicken, cut up fresh fruits and veggies, cook quesadillas or pasta with tomato sauce. Why not just resolve to only eat breakfast and lunch and snacks at home? You'll save…

This one is on my list! I'm in a myster/thriller phase right now so I'm reading "The Body Farm" by Patricia Cornwell. Before that I read "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn. That book is crazy! But I loved it. Her other 2 are good as well - "Dark Places" and "Sharp Objects". Gone Girl is a total page-turner though - well written!

Wow - you look gorgeous! Great job!!

Wow! My BMI is lower than 87% of U.S. women in my age range and 62% of women in the world. I am most like someone from Singapore. I win! :drinker:

You look fabulous!!! Way to go!

I play piano and sing. I played clarinet in junior high but I sucked, it just wasn't my thing. Piano is awesome, but lately I've been more into just singing. My husband is a really good musician (plays and teaches guitar) so I like to sing with him.

OMG, what are we going to do with you? You are such a goober. I get mistaken for being younger than I am. I HATED it when I was getting carded at 20 and some of my friends weren't, but now that I'm 36, I LOVE it!!

Certified Personal Trainer - you can add me!

Awesome!!

As much as I loathe the idea of people throwing a gift-opening party, I think since you're a bridesmaid you should attend. It sucks, I know, but that's what I would do. I would think it's stupid, but I would go. That being said, as soon as that last gift is opened I'd bolt! You'll still have Sunday evening with family.

Love my Cowboys!! Looking forward to August!

Plano y'all!

First week's total - 17 miles. Goal - 50 for the month. Thanks!!

If you run, you're a runner! Congrats! Runners are so supportive - no matter what size, speed or how long you've been doing it, it's a very supportive community. I've been running about 6 years and have managed to avoid injury because I always take the advice that's been shared here very seriously - don't do too much too…

Used to drink too much and had to stop. Been sober almost 2 years and it's a good thing! But I don't feel like everyone has to be sober, if you can handle it and not have a problem, then enjoy. I just can't and so I don't!
