I agree with the other comments - start with small increments of time, like 10 or 15 minutes, and pick something you'll enjoy. Love music? Take a walk and listen to your favorite songs. Enjoy dance? Put on a youtube video and follow along - there are lots of fun dance/exercise videos on youtube. Hate everything? Just pick…

1. Attack of the Clones (really all of the last three Star Wars Movies, but this was the worst of the them) 2. From Dusk Till Dawn 3. Anchorman - I know SO many people are going to throw tomatoes at me for this one but I absolutely can't stand Will Ferrell and this movie was so awful it felt like it was 4 hours long.…

It's true that running in the heat makes the effort increase. But you should still be able to keep up your pace in a 5k if you're used to it and do at least half your runs outside. I live in Texas so I know all about running in the heat! Besides that though, there are a couple of thing you can do to increase performance.…

Sounds great! Will have to try this!

My husband says "F-bombs", as in, "What the F-bombs is that loud noise?" Also, in the south we say "Well, bless her heart" instead of "Well, isn't she a dumb-a--"...it just sounds nicer. I have also used "barnacles" a time or two (curse you, SpongeBob!!!) Admittedly, I'm not great at censoring myself though. The way I see…

6 miles for my last week. That's 55 total for the month. Hope all is well with you. I'm in for 75 next month.

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope all goes well with the transition with your mom. Thanks for keeping up with this thread for all of us. :flowerforyou: I had 16 miles in week 3 and 14 in week 4 so that's now 49 total for the month.

The website bodyrock.tv has awesome, intense workouts. They are free and short workouts, but like I said, they're intense. A lot to choose from though.

So sorry about your parents. I hope their conditions improve. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful father. Hoping for the best for you all.

Week 2 total - 15 miles. That's 19 for the month.

Homer: Fame was like a drug. But what was even more like a drug were the drugs.

7 miles this week. Ending the month at 36. Almost 100% recovered, will be back for 50 miles in February.
-
15 this week. That's 29 total. Ankle will be ready to do 50 in February!
-
7 miles for week 3. So that's 14 miles total for the month. Ankle almost back to fully functioning! Feeling more and more optimistic.

I agree, I got much faster in long distances (half and full marathons) by increasing my overall mileage. Even without doing speed work, I also dropped my 5k time by over a minute just from the mileage increase. The fact that my 5k pace improved (went from 9:00 miles to 8:30) when I don't even train for marathons at that…

Ankle still recovering. 3 miles for first week and only 4 miles so far for this week.
-
Going for 50 this month. Still recovering from injury.
-
Twisted my ankle last week so zero miles this week!
-
I hope your mother has a speedy recovery!
-
Ran a marathon yesterday! Yay! :) Total for this week was 34.
-
How did it go?
-
I forgot to say I'm going for 100 miles again this month! Oops!
-
10 more miles this week. Tapering sucks!!! That's 88 for the month.
-
I never get tired of these. He makes me smile.
-
Just 13 miles this week. Slow week to recover from last weekend's 30k. 78 for the month. May not hit my goal as I'm now tapering for my marathon in two weeks. Oh, well...
-
26 miles this week. That's 65 for the month!
-
OP, you are incorrect.

I used to have this problem, even with just a 2 mile run, until a running coach told me to buy my running shoes a half size bigger than regular shoes. Since I've been doing that, I've never once had it happen again and I run really long distances (marathon training). But, in addition to that, also make sure you don't tie…
