I have a wrist one, slim. I never take it off. My husband also has one for when he bikes.

I usually hit 184 on a long/hard run but my resting heart rate has always been high.

Ditto to the lunges. I recently started Chalene Extreme and am already seeing a difference in my legs that running didn't give me.

There is a yoga for runners workout in iTunes by Kimberley Fowler. I do it after every run. Definitely makes a difference for me.

I use Yurbuds. I have tiny ears and can't use the typcial sized headphones. Been using these for 2 years with no issues. I just ordered the smallest size and it worked perfectly.
