  • I had a good start to August - evening walks, drinking loads of water, eating better and logging faithfully. I wasnt feeling bloated and was feeling comfortable in my clothes. Then after 2 weeks, I started to slack here and there, but not too bad. I thought the scale would have been friendly, but it hasn't been. The small…
  • First Check-in: Aug 1 - 219 Aug 7 - 218.4 End of Aug goal - 215 Fixed up my bad eating from July and have been making better attempts to get more active. Slow and steady. Feel free to add me 😊
  • Feel free to add me, always looking for more support and motivaters! Getting back on track after falling off tends to be my issue. I know how to lose the weight, I’ve done it before, so I can do it again. MFP helped me lose 50lbs 7 years ago, kept it off for a year...but have slowly put it back on. 7 years ago 180lbs April…
  • SW 230 CW 220 GW 200 Goal this week - daily working out and mindful better eating choices!
  • Week 5 for me: Im now at 222.4 which is down 7.6 lbs since March 20th. Slow progress is what I have to learn to accept and be content with. I’m constantly needing to remind myself how easy it is to put on and how hard it is to take off. Still doing my early AM 30 min workouts (elliptical/bike/calesthetics) and logging…
  • Last week I printed out some inspirational quotes and sayings related to weight loss, eating better and fitness. I took those print outs and put them up in my workout room. When I’m on the elliptical and bike, or doing floor exercises I look at those inspirational quotes and think about how I felt when I was picking which…
  • Week 3 (2 for me) is so far so good. I started at 226.4 and am at 224.8 today. I’ve been logging my food and activity like a mad-woman, I worked out for a minimum of 30 mins 6 days last week, and I’ve really been working on portion control and making better choices. In my workout room I put up inspirational quotes and…
  • I couldn't agree with you more!! All in moderation. This will allow you to not feel deprived.
  • My weekend goal is to get more active and make good eating choices. I weighed myself yesterday and I was not happy, so if I can get the number less than it was by next wed, I'll be happy with that start! 😊
  • I agree that logging food is a great resource! It's a real eye opener to the calorie intake in some foods. In the past it was probably my daily 45-60 minute lunch time walks and cutting junk food that really helped me, and of course tonnes of H20! This time around I have some exercise equipment at home though, so I'm…
  • I like the idea of focusing on stages! I hope I'm okay to join a week late? I'm needing to be held accountable and I feel this could be the push I need. I'm excited to have people to share in the journey of losing 20 lbs! 😊👍
  • I started mfp when I was hovering at 225lbs in October of 2011. Today I'm down 39 lbs. I started by working out about 2-3 times a week at the gym - walking fast and tried jogging at 4.0 mph for 25 mins, then I'd use this ski machine (I call it a butt machine bc it works great for the butt lol) for about 5 mins, the…
  • I agree with the others, start now. And with dumbbells the beauty is that you can start small. I recently incorporated 3lb dumbbells 3 times a week for about 20 mins and I can feel the muscle and toning taking place already, it's only been about 1 month. I'm ready to increase up to 5 lbs now :) Good Luck!
  • You'll definitely build muscle in your thighs by doing squats. I've been doing them regularly in my workouts and have noticed they've helped tone me up and my legs are so much stronger than they used to be :)

  • Congrats on the loss of 131lbs!! That's an accomplishment right there! Don't be so hard on yourself, you probably just hit a plateau...I think when that happens you just need to work through it and change up your routine. Maybe change the types of exercise you're doing? Some of the foods you're eating? It took me over a…
  • Yes - I have 8 I got my first one when I was 15years old, my last one just last year I have music notes on my ankle, three roses for my kids on my wrist (coverup), a tribal heart design on my lower back, a butterfly on my shoulder, my daughters names on my upper back, my hubby's name on the back of my neck and my wedding…
  • You just need to regain your self control, it's HARD as HELL sometimes, but like everyone else said, keep your eye on the prize and dont quit and give up just because of 5 lbs...just work harder now to lose those 5 lbs. I really like when someone said "is 30 mins of enjoyment worth a week of exercise" and I will totally be…
  • I recommend the WORKOUT TRAINER app - iPhone & Android friendly for sure. It;s an awesome FREE app that provides workouts you can do at home, at the office, or at the park. You can share on FB and Twitter, you can email to friends. It's one of my favorite apps aside from MFP!! :)
  • I agree with everyone else here - DIET is such an important component to losing weight. Use the calorie counter on this sight - it's a godsent lol...and keep up with your walking/running during the week. If you dont see results right away, have patience...because keeping up with your routine (but switch up your exercise…
  • I'm 5'7 and my ultimate goal is 150-160lbs...and if I don't feel good with those numbers and feel I can lose more, then I think 140lbs. I was 140lbs when I was 18 yrs old and that was the best size I remember being lol. I have a big frame tho (big boned), and I can't imagine myself smaller then 140 I guess lol, only time…
  • I found I was having the same problems, so during the weekend I would consider it my "cheat" but still have my diet in the back of my mind. Have just a handful of chips rather then a full bag, a small slush rather then a medium, smaller portions of meals and remember to include healthier choices! With alcohol, only have…
  • I was provided a personal trainer when I first joined a gym and she wanted to get right to work so asked me to come in the next day, I told her I was on my period so didn't really feel like it. She said that working out when you're on your period was very good for your body and not to use it as an excuse lol. I don't know…
