I think you'd be doing her a favor to mention it to her. She may be getting discouraged by the low # of calories burned per her HRM (I know I am by mine) and you may actually keep her on track by letting her know that she's probably burning more than she thinks. I would love such advice from someone.

I went through the same thing just last week. MFP was telling me that I was burning over 400 calories for a 30 minute elliptical and I, sadly, learned that I was actually only burning about 180 calories.... :-( On the positive side, I was probably over eating (my goal was always to eat back 50% of my workout calories) and…

I can almost guarantee you that you aren't burning 1300 to 1500 calories. The elliptical at the gym told me that I was burning about 115 calories for every 10 minutes I worked out. I didnt trust that, so I got a heart rate monitor that calculates my calories burned based on my heart rate, height, weight, etc. I now know…

I don't believe in Valentine's day. It's a corporate holiday created by the greeting card companies that puts way too much pressure on everyone. I'd much prefer to get flowers or chocolates on some random day of the week for absolutely no reason at all. :-)

I would focus on protein for the rest of the day....a couple of hard boiled eggs or maybe a grilled chicken breast and some fresh veggies. I love steamed broocoli plain and have started to squeeze fresh lemons on salad instead of using salad dressing. Starving yourself for one afternoon wont solve anything.

I just repositioned it and got back on the elliptical. Now its showing 155 bpm which is more consistent with the heart rate on the equipment.....
