Listen to your body! If you need to walk that's ok. You don't need to worry about time, just to finish! Use the water/gatorade stations. They are your friend! You'll do fine and remember: You're running a half marathon! You're amazing!! :flowerforyou:

You're welcome.

Yes.

^^ This. I couldn't have said it better myself!

Yeah good for you! I don't know that i'd call myself a "good" runner but I'm a runner! My general focus is half-marathons but I just finished my first full marathon this past weekend! Feel free to add me if you'd like!

Can you try something new that might kick start your journey? Maybe try a new class at the gym or join a running group (or any group that does something you're interested in)? Sometimes it just takes a little something different to get you motivated again. The more you're exercising the less you'll need to feel like you…

HA HA! This cracked me up. And sometimes I just run against the light, give my best "sorry!" face to the pissed off drivers and hope i don't get RUN over  Honestly though, this is one of my favorite quotes: “If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your…

Breathing! Make sure you're breathing properly to get the amount of oxygen you need to the crucial areas of your body while running. If you're breathing in gulps, too quickly or too shallow that could explain the light headedness. Learn HOW to breathe and that might help. Just keep at it, it gets easier!

They do that those damn cookies! I ate one too and it was about that many cals . . . It was yummy. I am running a marathon tomorrow though so I figured I could allow myself a damn cookie! And it will help fuel your workout. :flowerforyou:

Fartleks and Intervals, fartleks and intervals, fartleks and intervals!! (I know it's already been said, I'm just reaffirming it! )

Siiiiigh I want to love my pear but I just can't! All I see when I look in the mirror is FAT butt and FAT hips and FAT thighs no matter how much I trim and tone. In the end I guess it's just a self acceptance thing :frown:

I'm loving reading all these stories. For the record, never EVER try to impress your co-workers by insisting they buy you a shot of ANYTHING "cause you can take it" . . . . This will blow up in your face. :explode: I got to down a jouyous little somethin called a Rocky Mountain Bear F***** . . . an exceptionally…

Rum . . . the night a friend of mine turned 21 and chose to make her first liquor purchase the cheapest half gallon of no-name rum on the market . . . Neither of us had yet experienced hard liquor of any kind. We proceeded to down 6 shots each within 25 minutes . . . dear god.

Lady Gaga . . . ANYTHING Lady Gaga lol. With a little bit of LMFAO mixed in. Though I've also found the NOW Dance (old ones and new ones) and Hip Hop mixes to be pretty good for the long runs. I love all these suggestions though, I've also been looking for some new material. :drinker:

That's a better one.

Ok this literally made me lol! I totally understand how that would be annoying though!

^^^ THIS - Any acknowledgment that something I've worked hard at, no matter what it's for, has not gone unnoticed.

Prepping on your local terrain should be fine especially if you're routinely running the hills. Practicing on hills makes a flat course all that much easier!

I certainly haven’t figured it out! Every time I think I’ve found the trick, I cave again. Idleness and missed runs are HUGE triggers for me so if I don’t keep myself busy, busy, busy (ie distracted) and keep to my running schedule then all hell breaks loose. Sometimes even those things aren’t enough to quash the “urge”…

^^^ Thank you!

^^ And THIS!! :drinker:

^^ This!!

I despise the term Curvy. I can't help but see it as just another word for fat. :frown:

^^ Similar experience here. Strength training along with the running is best. EFFECTIVE eating to maintain a deficit but also fuel your running is key though. What and how much you eat will depend on your running goals (distance, intensity etc.). You want your food to work for you so I just try to think about how the food…

Going on 3 weeks binge free . . . EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! I'm learning that I MUST keep busy, I must keep running . . . idleness gets me into trouble! And I MUST eat back my ex cals!

Yes fantastic motivation and support! In some ways I feel accountable to my friends on MFP who have really been rooting for me and I for them. It's really helped keep me on track at times when I tend to stray because I think about how they're pullin for me so they deserve my best efforts! :)

I WISH I looked like your profile picture lol but my goal is also 130 . . . . Ok I really want 125
