Everybody is different. I work out anytime from 5 am to noon doing weights, hiit or 3-6 mile runs or a combo of those and never have more than a cup of coffee and several glasses of water. If I eat before working out I feel sluggish and bloated. Some people can't walk to their car without a breakfast. So really the best…

according to MFP it was 21 grams which is 84 calories out of 100 being protein which is pretty sweet ratio.
-
I found it fun because it spurred me to run the numbers and found that you can get the same amount of protein (12 grams) from 100 calories of spinach as you can from 100 calories of Chicken breast eaten with the fat and skin. Enlightenment is fun. The more you know.... :-)
-
Not that I am a math wiz.... but perhaps Im just confused. if the chart is showing percent of protein of total calories, then something is amiss. 100 calories of spinach has 12 grams of protein (12 grams* 4 calories per gram = 48 calories out of 100 is protein) neat! however, 100 calories of Chicken breast meat has 21…
-
They must be referring to percentage of protein by weight here. would have to eat a tremendous amount of raw spinach to get an appreciable amount of protein!!!!!!! ( 500 grams of spinach to get 14 grams protein) neat chart though.

from sometime in my teens onward I had tremendous debilitating back pain and the doctors told me after reviewing several years of MRI images that I had degenerative disc disease. Around 28 I was walking with a cane and was rotating between percocet and vicodin with muscle relaxants and was told I needed to wait till I was…

And F's your back leaving you walking with a cane for a month and you starting with bar weight.

Great work man, keep pushing.

I would feel like a failure if I only consumed 4500 on Thanksgiving............

My days normally look like this breakfast < 1% ( cup of coffee black and or bcca and or caffeine pill) Early am workout Lunch 0-25% Dinner what ever is left. I frequently eat 1500+ calorie dinners and hit my macro nutrient goals and seldom feel hungry and never have energy or fatigue issues when working out with weights or…

It is long term low calorie diets that cause problems. It is fine for most people to balance over the course of several days to even a week. Some people purposely zig zag calories too.

Thanks..... I just lost an hour of my day watching other Frank Yang videos lol. He might be my new hero.

I remember the first time I hit that number. I felt like a million bucks. Really awesome job Becka, seriously. now how about 7.1 ?
-
you will burn approximately the same number of calories running one mile as walking one mile. the difference is you can complete the mile in a shorter period of time. something must be amiss with the calculation from your device because the numbers don't make sense to me.
-
over the same time frame, you will burn more calories and therefore more fat working harder. The whole fat burning zone is pretty misleading.

It must vary location to location, I am a member and have seen 5 locations ranging from awesome modern cardio equipment good free weights, machines and private shower/changing rooms, to broken worn out equipment with a few pink dumbells and moldy shower/locker rooms. You really will need to check it out yourself to see…

Ive been at "goal weight" for more than 18 months. The biggest thing is to always have a goal. run faster, Run farther, Lift heavier. Just keep setting little goals and destroying them. And get rid of your "fat clothes" if your current clothing starts getting uncomfortable, take the hint and rachet down.

Is anybody else just cruising this thread looking for meal ideas for re-feed days? I feel like a freak.

I thought it seemed really low......

Bump. Im still confused. Why did the chicken cross the road
-
Sure. I understand that, Ive been eating lean gains style for a good 18 months now. But I don't think that simply fasting is the reason for my weightloss. I think even you would agree that weightloss just requires a change in energy balance and it doesn't really make a difference in how you do that. Also, why so defensive?…
-
Perhaps I should have just said I concur. I was simply agreeing in what I intended to be a friendly manner.
-
you can't possibly be new if you already know to truth :-) eat less than you burn = weight loss. Doesn't really matter how you get it done.
-
I respect your opinion. I’m glad you found something that works for you. I do not know what kind of fasting that you think of when you hear that term, but I do eat every single day. I just do it within a tighter time frame than perhaps you do.Also, it is incorrect to say that it is the same as starving. I watch my…
-
Because being able to be at a healthy body weight, AND regulary eat 1500+ calories in single meals makes this whole life style much easier and more sustainable for me. Also, I never feel starved ?

Yep, from wal-mart flannel shirts and cheap jeans, to slim fit 2 peice suits, or sport coat with Lucky jeans ect. And boy do some of the girls stare. I thought men were bad about checking out the opposite Sex haha. EDIT: I should add that part of my style change was a result of a career change that required dressing in…
