I joined MFP about a month and a half ago and I had gained weight the week before my period.. I was so discouraged because it was my first period while using MFP and didn't know I could gain that much. I ended up losing around 3-4 pounds of water weight once I was done with my period. Cheer up... the scale shouldn't be…

Great job! The added benefit of yoga is that you feel better inside out and possibly live a balanced life. What kind of yoga do you practice? I do Vinyasa and Power Yoga... absolutely LOVE it and you're right! Depending on what yoga class and intensity, you can elevate your heart rate to the same as high intensity cardio!…

Would you try P90X? Also, check this out: http://www.bodyrock.tv/

Ok in simple terms... your body needs at least 1200 calories to keep your organs working properly. When you are not giving your body enough calories or a huge caloric deficit, your body is going to "think" it's starving and start retaining everything you eat in order to protect you from starvation. The HCG is ONLY approved…

The one in black looks too muscular for my taste. Now, the one in blue is what I would like to achieve in the end. BTW I LOLed at the most rated comment on YouTube.

Don't focus on the end goal, celebrate your daily accomplishments. Love your body now, it's the only one you have... if you don't feel that your body is where it can be then work towards reaching there little by little. You really won't gain anything by bashing yourself and ruminating about the past. What's important is…

I've read that your body only needs about 500mg daily but I think that 2000-2500 is good :)

I have now stopped smoking for 6 days, 14 hours, 4 minutes, 56 seconds. That translates into 46 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $13.83! At 5 minutes per cigarette I have increased my life expectancy by 3 hours, 50 minutes, 32 seconds.

I have extremely flat feet and whenever i do some yoga poses, such as balance posed, I get a burning sensation all over my legs especially on the front part :(. Doesn't happen when I run or do cardio classes tho. My yoga instructor has the same problem and he recommended I pay attention to where I place my weight when…

It's my third smoke free day! I've munched on pistachios all day to control my cravings and have been tempted to stop somewhere and buy some but to be honest I prefer to be overweight than to have all those complications related to smoking. Do you workout? Working out boosts your metabolism and kills some of the craving.…

Not at all, you're not alone! I CRAVE going to the gym and working out and burning at least 800 calories... I look forward to it! It probably has to do with the release of endorphins when you work out. Endorphins are the "happy chemicals" in your brain that people get after a run or workout. Runners call it a "runner's…

I meditate almost every day-- you wouldn't believe the awesome effects it has on your body, mind, and life overall. Try it :)

hey, speaking from personal experience, I had that same feeling the first two years of my undergraduate years. I was studying Civil Engineering and when I was a junior I decided to change my major to Psychology. EVERYONE advised me not to do so... saying that I would be jobless and miserable for the rest of my life. Turned…

I was talking to a personal trainer about this and she said that ab work alone won't do the job, you need to mix it up with cardio, general toning and ab work... also, eating fresh foods and eliminating sodas processed foods will help. Just give it time! I'm rooting for you, for us! :)
