great letter and just what I needed to read this morning. This is exactly what I am doing today "starting over". With the help of MFP I lost 80 lbs 4 years ago but last year I had a heart attack and some of the medication they put me on made me gain weight fast 25 lbs back on in addition to the 10 lbs before the attack. I…

I'm glad I'm not the only one "starting again". Using MFP helped me lose 80 lbs 4 years ago, I maintained for 2 years but had a heart attack just about a year ago August 27th. All the medications I was put on caused me to gain 20 lbs. I don't feel near as good as I used to with this additional weight so I finally got…

LOL Love it! When I started out all I had was the Richard Simmons tapes and exercised by them, I haven't in a long time because I started using Leslie Sansone's walking dvd's. I must say that Richard Simmons tapes were fun and has a lot of the same exercise moves as others I am currently using, also LOVE the fact he has…

Congratulations! my story is so similar to yours, height, weight (although I only lost 80 lbs) but love it in your story where you said when you started out walking seeing your shadow, I was the exact same way and it was so nice to see that shadow get smaller and smaller. Great job and know you feel WONDERFUL!

A co-worker, she lost weight and it gave me the incentive to try and also decided it was time to start taking care of myself have always looked after others and neglected myself. :) As far as myself in mirror still don't like that but feel better with weight loss.

^^^ agree with this Clothing Mfg's have changed the way they size clothing, because when I was 20 years old I weighed 118 lbs and wore a size 7/8 I'm 5'2" and weigh 145 (just about 53 years old) and wear a size 10 comfortably and size 8 tightly (LOL) but at the same time some of the jeans I fit into are not the newer ones…

so totally agree with this ^^^^ but also feel if you are comfortable with yourself (and it's healthy) it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks. We all have different preferences. Just be happy with yourself.

Wow this is me too, thought I had written this. Thanks for posting because I decided last week to go ahead and post my weight gain (which was hard and sad to me) but had to be honest with myself and get that weight back off and try to maintain better. Not glad we are going through the same thing but makes you feel better…

I don't think it's sad, my 5 year old granddaughter likes to workout with me (of course she doesn't do it long). I think it's teaching them to exercise and eat right. Good for you!

that's exactly what I did joined and many months later got started, which was January of last year 2012. I weighed 220 lbs when I started and lost 80 lbs in 10 months. This site helped me tremendously and I'm sure it will help you too. Best wishes!
