• I haven't a clue where you find food scales or how much they cost. I'm only working part time so I dont make a lot and my husband is already weighed down with our bills. I do read food package labels a lot more than I used to. Its SO hard to stay within those labels sometimes though because I have a sweet tooth...not that…
• Thanks! Realistically, I can't do very much walking on the treadmill right now due to to a stiffness and pain in the back of my left knee. Seems like after maybe 35 minutes on the treadmill I can't fully extend that left leg (as you would do when you walk) and so I end up with a funny limping walk. I hope that stiffness is…
• I have the same problem with fat around my middle. I have a problem loosing weight but then again, I have a tough time eating the right things. I find it challenging to get a lot of protein as I have a digestive disorder that causes me to have issues with anything with dairy in it...including yogurt.
• Sure it is Carol. :)
• Any of you, feel free to send a friend request. :) My kids are 16 & 18. I used to pin the extra weight on my youngest but she's 16...lol I cant blame her anymore. haha.
• That's what I try to do. There are times I forget but I try to enter it in as soon as I remember. Or if Im sick and dont eat those are times I dont log in too.
• Good idea! Thank you! :)
•
Keep in mind though that you really don't have to cut foods if you like them. Just learn to eat things in moderation. I have lost over 50 lbs in 260 days on this site by eating things in moderation.
Oh I know. :) I enjoy a soda now & then but its not all the time like it used to be. I got plain water when…
• Same here. I had no idea how many calories I was eating until I began to track it. Some things are harder to track than others so I try to look up nutritional info for meals before we go out to eat when we go out. All restaurants are required to post or make available nutritional info for everything on their menu which is…
• Will do...Thanks! The goal was just a starting point.
• Thanks sooo much! Sent an add request. Ill take all the help I can get.
• Oh yes...I use MFP to track what I eat and am reading labels to stay on track. MFP has me at 1650 calories per day and I try real hard to stay within that, though I have failed a few times and had to make up for it by doing in home aerobics with my in home walking dvd.
• Oh yes...im using MFP to track my calories. :-) and this gym offers free trainers, it's just finding a time on their calendar that works around my work schedule of 10 am to 5 pm. It's amazing how much one eats in the way of calories and such when you're tracking it. Thanks for the tips!
• Not sure if this is a confession or not but I wear sweat pants and a loose t-shirt when I workout. I have quite a belly on me which Im terribly embarrassed about and so the sweat pants and t-shirt hide that.
• Don't feel guilty honey...just do some cardio or some other kind of workout and burn off the excess calories. :) I used to feel that way too but now if I eat something that has a lot of calories, I just have to keep in mind that I'll need to do a little extra exercise later to burn off the calories. Keep your head up. :)
• I agree! Why limit ourselves to the so called "diet" stuff and just eat what we want while keeping in mind that whatever we eat that puts us over our calorie goal, we need to do a good enough work out to burn off the excess calories. Thats what I plan to do once my food digests a bit. :)
• Sorry this reply is so late but a healthy option @ Chick Fil A is the chargrilled chicken sandwich with no sauces or cheese and if you want a meal, ask for a fruit cup instead of fries and a diet lemonade or a diet soda. :) Good luck!
• I love their grilled chicken sandwich. I just get it without mayo and grab a packet and put a little on myself so I can control how much mayo goes on it. :) Its yum & lower in fat and calories. :)
• Yeah, they do fill you up pretty good. I love them....especially the chocolate and since they're dairy free theyre my favorite snack/breakfast food since Im lactose intolerant.
• I usually do that too...look on the restaraunt's website ahead of time so I know WHAT Im getting when I get there and how many calories it is. Even cobb salad isn't all bad since I cant have dairy and ask for the cheese to be kept off and dressing on the side.
• Exactly! I try my best to eat a bowl of cereal (honey nut cheerios for me) with some of my lactose free milk, or a pkg of my favorite Belvita chocolate breakfast bars & yogurt in the morning. Since I sit at a desk all day it keeps me from sitting there nomming on snacks all morning and end up eating 400 calories before Ive…
• Oh my god yes!! My guilty pleasure is a small chocolate shake from Chick-Fil-A. Its SO good but I know how bad it is for me. Its like at least 500+ calories just for the small shake! Gasp! A suggestion that I have tried in the past is buying the small and sharing it with someone....like your child, or spouse. Ive shared…
• Oh my goodness you'd love the chocolate ones then! They taste like an chocolate cookie to me! You cant eat four of THOSE for 230 calories. :) You could try it with chocolate or vanilla nonfat yogurt. Ive done that an its delicious! If you find the right nonfat yogurt you could even get both for under 300 calories! :-)
• Age: 38 Height: 5'10" CW: 207 lbs GW: 155-165lbs Feel free to add me. I could sure use all the support and advice I can get. I'm already experiencing lower back pain because of the extra weight around the middle.
• Try Crystal Light- its only 5 calories per 8oz serving. I drink it every day at work. Sure its not 100% sugar free but calorie wise its very low and its sweet. Id have to drink more than 10 glasses to even reach the calories in 8ozs of soda. :)
• *sighs and raises hand* Sadly, I am. I'm currently at 207 pounds. It seems to be all centered around my middle because I'm perfectly normal from the chest up. I only need to loose 40-50 pounds to get to my ideal weight for my height of 5 ft 10 but its a tough goal to reach when the slightest exercise leaves me winded.
• I know how you feel on this matter. It seems no matter what I eat or the portion size, I can't seem to loose any weight. I haven't gained that I know of this week but I don't seem to be loosing either. I've been stuck at 207lbs for months now. I dont want to eat so little that my body goes into starvation mode and holds…
• So glad my husband IS supportive of my watching my calorie intake. Even encourages me to excercise and drink more water. This food journal has been SO helpful in watching how much I eat and how much I excercise as I had no idea how many calories were in some of the foods I have been eating on a regular basis. I wouldn't…
• THANK YOU!!! You said exactly what I have been thinking this whole time...why would you feed a baby in a place covered in particles of feces (they have done studies on it people)! I would not eat food on in the bathroom or on the toilet so I wouldn't expect my child to either!
I agree! I think as long as a woman…
• I don't mind a woman breastfeeding in public as long as she's as discreet as possible about it. As in don't have the entire breast exposed. :)
