To answer the original poster, I used to hit the cross trainer and just up my level and speed until the display read 1000cal/hr and just do it for an hour. I always found cross trainer the best calorie/difficulty ratio but I know some people struggle with it.

Start weight - 267lbs Current weight - 253lbs Height - 6ft 3in Goal weight is what I'm not sure about. Want to hit 200lbs then will see how my body looks, haven't been that weight for 5 years or so, no idea what my body will look like. Currently losing 2lb per week

Doesn't matter if it sounds silly or misguided...i've always found the most important thing is doing what's comfortable and doable. As long as the results are coming in and you feel comfortable and able to carry on whatever you are doing, then stick at it.

I think 2000 is pretty much on the money. It gives me a deficit of around 800, and with the 600-800 burned with my walk, itll be a little over 2lbs a week (I wont be walking at weekends).
