There's a climbing gym a few hours away and I go for an afternoon when I can (Every month or so?). Still haven't gotten any good at it yet, but would love to hear some tips as well!

Try peanut butter, nuts and avocado. Mmmmmm.

Just had some of the block version broken into parts in my soup for lunch :) My Japanese coworkers told me about a year ago I'd make a fortune selling shirataki noodles and konnyaku (the blocky version) in the US as diet food. Too bad someone's already beat me to the punch!

Middle of nowhere, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
-
Second the shiratake noodles, or konnyaku (the same thing in block form you can use in soups, stir fry, etc.). High in fiber too!
-
Sooo cute~! Bump to save the idea.

Lowfat yogurt with frozen berries mixed in, sometimes with a scoop of protein powder. The berries freeze the yogurt and the result is berry-licious ice cream! <3

I'm currently taking both lithium and seroquel for bipolar and have for years. I've been taking meds of some sort since middle school, when I quickly (VERY quickly) gained a lot of weight and have had it ever since. When I'm not paying attention to what I eat, I do tend to balloon out. Although in the past year, with more…

Bump - in a cooking mood and this should help a lot! :)
-
Bump! I'd like to make some cut out sugar cookies, it would be great if someone could recommend a recipe that they've tried already :)
-
Made these a while ago, everybody loved them! And they're so filling too! New favorite cookies. <3

One of my first days in Japan, the higher-ups decided to have a laugh and ordered some horse for us at a local restaurant. It's really tasty raw. I'd skip the entrails though, too chewy. :)

Been a while, but down .4 kilos to 84.8 kilos (186.6lbs). Woohoo!
-
Ooh, I'm in! Another 20 lbs will put me near my goal weight. :) CW: 188

Thanks guys! You're great motivators :)

Thanks guys :) The hurdlers stretch got the general area pretty good, but not the spot that's causing the most difficulty. I'll ask the teachers, though they don't seem to be big on stretching. Now time to look up how to do so in Japanese >.<

W4D1 done - breathing keeping up easily but my muscles aren't. More strength training I suppose :P We got this!
-
Just did W3D3 yesterday. Breathing is excellent, much to my surprise, but my calf muscles got pretty sore. Need more stretching and weights! Haven't run in the past 1.5 weeks due to a typhoon blowing through the area, but apparently kept up my endurance enough to do W3D2 and W3D3 on back to back days. Today I have an 2…

Nonono it's raining and is supposed to rain all weekend :( This means no running for me until it clears up... Really bummed. :grumble:
-
Finished W2D3 tonight - and feeling good! Was wiped after work today but dragged myself to volleyball, then had a little energy so went out for a late run-and now feel like I could do W2D3 it all over again! But it's off to bed now~
-
Just finished W2D2. It started raining just as I hit cool down - perfect timing! Also hit a stitch in the side, but powered through it and it went away after a few intervals. The rain here has set me back a bit (Typhoon went through during week 1), but still plugging along! We can do this! :glasses:

I totally did this and still do - or cross my arms and use them to squish my tummy in so i look leaner from the side. No idea if it works or not  Always wear shorts when swimming... I also hold my breath or breathe slower when walking past people while running, on stairs etc. until I get past them. Tie that belt in…

Wow, thanks for all this info about potassium! Found a nice list of potassium-rich foods: http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/food/potassium-foods.htm Let's try for 3,500mg!
-
Water, detox, check. Potassium? Wow, I didn't even know the two were related! *Does quick google search* Interesting. I do get cramps sometimes too. Just wish they labeled food with potassium (or sugar, for that matter) amounts. Gotta find me some beans

This happens to me after every meal, too. At the end of the day, I'm a full pants size or more bigger around, but then in the morning it all goes back to normal. I can't wear any cute clothes at night cause my stomach's so big :P Drinking alot too.
-
Wow, congratulations! What an important milestone. Having the commitment to train for and complete the race is great! Keep it up and enjoy your new hobby :)
-
Thanks, everyone! Wow, that's alot of water - didn't know it made so much of a difference! Will keep drinking like a fish. :drinker:
-
That looks HEAVENLY. Just wish I could buy the ingredients here. Will pass the recipe on to my non-MFP friends!

Kendo fan here! Martial arts have got to be the most fun way to lose cals in a short workout period. Though the uniforms aren't too flattering generally...
