  • I will commit to this! I go in phases, and it just so happens... that I do need more water. Thanks
  • I am going to steal this <3
  • Hi everyone, I am very pleased to find this group. I have been active on MFP off and on for years, like many of you. I do better when logging my calories. I took a 3-month break from MFP and my fitibit, while I moved and had financial difficulties... Guess what? I gained 17 lbs per the doctor yesterday. Instead of freaking…
  • I am a new owner and have fibromyalgia which comes with sleep issues. I have a flare going right now, and put my Fitbit on the first time last night and then went to sleep for about 13 hours, thanks to my wonderful hubby. It recorded that I slept under 3 hours, and it has been 5 hours since I am up. Do you find that it…
  • This is a great idea, and I think you all will be surprised at how much this will increase your weight loss. I would have a bottle (or 2? lol) of wine on the weekends, and my weight loss was pretty slow. I cut that out (1 year ago?) a while ago, and it helped me get over that plateau that happened after the first 20lbs…
  • Oh per the scale, I only weighed every 2-4 weeks in the beginning, and my weight loss was a bit faster then and my body changes slower. Now that I am down 53 lbs, the scale is slower but my body changes are coming quicker as I lift heavy and do more cardio. Strength training has made a drastic improvement in my body in the…
  • I think I started to notice changes in my appearance in a month, close people noticed around 3 months, and my coworkers, etc. noticed about 6 months in. It helps me to focus on mini goals at a time- lift another 5 pounds, cardio 2x a week, the next size, and so on. I was almost a size 20 when I started, and noticed this…
  • I have the same concern! I have 28 pounds to lose to be at my ideal weight. I have lost over 50 pounds from moderate strength training, cardio and eating balanced with calories around 1,200-1,500 depending on the day over a year. I started to lift heavy and 3x a week about a month ago and weight loss has stalled to .2…
  • I was just thinking about changing up my HIIT routine. Perfect timing on the link. Thanks for sharing.
  • Love it too! I just did chest and triceps on my lunch break. I love the simple barbell bench press and chest flys.
  • I love BodyPump. I do that once a week along with other classes, and it has recently got me motivated to strength train in my own. You should go for it; it's a great way to get back into training.
  • Hi there, I have chronic pain from Fibro and Scoliosis, so I know the extra barriers that come with this. From my experience of losing 50lbs / having multiple pregnancies and my husband of losing over 100 lbs so far, is to focus on healthy lifestyle changes that result in slower progress of total body recomposition.…
  • As someone else mentioned, if you have access to a class like BodyPump where they use weights, that is a great place to start. The instructor will help you out while you get used to the equipment and you can blend in. You could also get a cheap set from walmart and start to practice at your home; bodybuilders.com has great…
  • Try to work on not letting other people affect you that much. Losing weight is a long and challenging journey, and it really helps to have inner motivation and strength to make it through. Since I changed my diet, lost significant body fat, and started to take better care of myself overall, I have had several people tell…
  • I gave up trying to get up as I have never been a morning person and getting to work at 8am is a struggle. By accepting that I am not a person who can wake up at 5am and workout and finding time to do it during lunch and after work with my kids and all, I have found greater success because it is sustainable for me. You got…
  • Use the elliptical when you can and take into consideration that it can burn up to 2x as much calories if you hit it hard and do intermittent intensity (short bursts of going all out). So, maybe you did 9,000 steps but got in the extra workout to compensate for the last 1,000. I wouldn't get too caught up in the numbers,…
  • This for me ^^ I have fibromyalgia and the very heavy periods that come with it. I also almost always get a flare right before, so I have to be careful not to knock myself out of commission. On the 1-2 days that it is insanely heavy, I just make it through my long work days , eat extra healthy, and rest. I find if I am not…
  • It is worth a try because some love it as stated above. I personally hate it, by far my least favorite class. I have tried 3 times at 2 different places to see if I would learn to like it. It hurts my bum, and I find it boring despite good music and instructors.
  • Did a 45 minute Les Mills Bodycombat class during my lunch break.
  • I have the same question. I have been working out consistently for a little over a year now and thought that might be a fun way to track my healthy behaviors and get strategies to get even more healthy. I wish this thread was more active.
  • Thanks for sharing :-) Yes, I think having a medical diagnosis does make a big difference! I still find those who don't believe that FM exists, but forget them. It is 81 degrees where I live today, so I took a long way on the beach. I like having a bit of cold weather for a change, but it hurts. I should probably go a day…
  • I love smart balance lite with flax oil. It is better for you than many options, is soft and spreadable, tastes great and can be used any any recipe.
  • Face, arms, legs, rib cage area under my boobs, (usually my boobs but I am breastfeeding)... I am apple shaped and my belly is always the last to go.... Grrrrr I am doing a lot of strength exercises to firm up after my recent and third c-section.
  • I did weight watchers online for years. It did help me lose weight after baby number 2. I like MVP, so much better and it free. I know what you mean about the mind games. Seeing my macros add up on here helps me make better choices.
  • In my experience, it tastes disgusting and is expensive. The 'chicken' sandwich is a dehydrated piece of chicken and you supply the rest. I feel most would be better of making a visit to a nutritionist for an eating plan than wasting money on their products. There is no real substitute for portion control and healthy…
  • Last I checked I was down 2 lbs. if I can maintain that or further reduce inches/ weight, I will be pleased.
  • Today did seem easier. I only had to modify a few things. I still can't do a real push-up, but I can at least do entire sets of modified push-ups... Lol. I agree that checking in with any changes in our stats on Wednesday is a good idea. I muted the video and put on my own music- so much better.

  • I didn't think I would make it this far :-)
  • Very cool! I have been thinking of starting to jog but can't imagine myself running...
