Portion control is key, if you can't find someone to share with you plan to take half home. I know that when I go for mexican the portions are huge! Also don't order deep fried, vegetarian would be a good plan as well like you said.

Welcome! I am vegetatarian so feel free to add me if you want some friends with a similar diet :)

Rasperry Lager, it is made at this brew pub that I love. We go every 2 weeks for half price pizza and half price pints. It is my indulgence, but I make sure to fit it into my calories, don't worry!

I tend to "cheat" a bit on weekends, but I still mostly stay within my range for calories (probably I go over on sodium though) I don't log that often on weekends since I don't want to get too OCD about logging. I try to have variety and moderation in my diet so that I can still enjoy the foods I love and not feel deprived.

Wow! You look amazing! You should be prooud of all your hard work!

I think that a bit of extra exercise is a good plan. Just do your best today and make sure you enjoy yourself as well!

I added you, thanks for accepting :) I had the same problem when I was on depo around 10 years ago, I was super fit and was gaining even though I was working out consistently. I also decided to have a baby about 6 months after I had my first and only shot and it took me a year to get pregnant. Anyhoo, I am looking forward…

Glee gum is sold at whole foods and it is natural, it is expensive and the flavor doesn't last very long but it is tasty. I have given up gum for the most part because most of it seems to have aspartame in it.

Checking in from sunny Surrey BC! Hope all of you are doing well on the health and fitness journey!

I try to avoid them as much as possible, I have read that they make you crave more sweets. But whatever works in the short term to get started on healthy habits, but in the long run the goal should be to eliminate these ingredients from your diet.

Looking good! Keep up the good work!

Those are very beautiful pictures! You look very happy!

Sugar is tricky since there is addded sugar and natural sugar. I tried to keep my sugar in line but I wasn't able to. I try to look at the sources of my sugar and not to eat things with too much of it, or at least have them in moderation.

I know what you mean, ppl bring doughnuts into work and I never have any, but donut holes seem so innocent! Really though you need to take it easy on yourself, you could have eaten a lot more than just one of them, and you logged it and have realized that it wasn't worth it to you to eat it. Remember that this has to be a…

I just finished an 18oz bottle that was about half full so. . .done!!!

Very interesting and well researched information, thanks for posting! One thing that I can't get out of my head is this "A few even mutilated themselves, one chopping off three fingers in stress" What doctor allowed this to occur? I can't imagine how this helped the research.

Salt is such a hard one to cut down on, but once I started keeping track of it, I find that I have no problem being under 1500 mg per day (what health Canada reccomends). I try to avoid convenience foods, deli meats and dining out. It is something to gradually decrease though, because it would be hard to stick with it if…

Good question! I haven't really done any rewards yet, I should plan something really good when I get to 25 lbs lost. I think pedicures are a great idea! I need to get some new (thrift shop) clothes but I have been doing that all along since I love to hit up the thrift shop, but another trip is needed soon. I want to get…

I know exactly what you mean! That voice is such a jerk! At least you recognized what happened and ate it really slowly. Sometimes we are going to eat things that are not so good for us, and in moderation they will not do too much harm. Keep fighting the good fight!

Ya, 800 cals is RIDICULOUS!!! Hollywood is such a bad example.

I have been there, my panic attacks are not too severe and I have found that cutting out caffeine, exercise and healthy diet have helped me quite a lot. Know that you are not crazy, that we are all here to help you, and that you should feel better soon. :flowerforyou:

I know what you mean, I think that we often eat for the wrong reasons. It is a mind shift into eating for fueling the body rather than for the other million reasons that exist.

I know, the large is too big to eat solo but it is good to keep these things in mind. The large sizes here are refillable, yikes! I can't imagine needing a refill!

Thanks again everyone! Baby steps are what got me here, and I am keeping it up forever, I just feel so much better when I am being healthy!

Thanks, I am a bit of a cat lady, lol! I love that I can see my dimples now too :)
-
Thanks! It gives me fuel to carry on :)

I eat a mostly vegetarian diet, but I do eat fish still (mostly tuna) so feel free to have a peek at my diary as well. Also I reccomend lentils, mmm. I have heard good things about quinoa but I haven't tried it yet. I also eat a lot of raw almonds (though I ran out so I haven't been eating them as much so they are not in…

Canada reccomends 1500mg per day and I aim for that, some days I am closer to it and some days I am way under. I don't notice a difference in how I feel on the days when I am under. Fresh foods are the best for sure, and it is a good way to keep sodium low. If you want to raise it a bit, I would suggest adding a bit of sea…
