  • Good morning everyone! (Or afternoon I suppose since it is 9 am PST) I had a good weekend, I adopted one of the kittens on Friday and he is the sweetest!! I went to the gym Saturday then was lazy the rest of the day but ate not so bad. Yesterday I did a 10K run as I am doing a half marathon in 18 days. Feeling a bit sore…
  • TGIF!!! Today was a rest day, decided to sleep in a bit. Tomorrow I will hit the gym. Ate well so far today. Not sure what I will be eating tonight. I am going to pick up my friend's chihuahua soon then later tonight I will be visiting some kittens and I may adopt one. EXCITED!!!…
  • Had a great morning and feeling so on top of things. I rode my bike to boot camp this morning, that's me dragging the bike down 3 flights of stairs (elevator is under overhaul and has been down 2 months) then a hard 15 min ride there and back. I had to get there for 6 am so pretty impressed with myself. I am happy that I…
  • I had a super busy day so haven't had much time to post but wanted to check in. I had a good day today. Made dinner last night, so just had to heat it up. Got some granola in the oven so will probably have some for my evening snack. Boot camp was great today. Lots of medecine ball stuff and a good circuit. Tomorrow we go…
  • I loved my Fitbits, I had them for years. I lost two this year so decided not to get another. I had the Fitbit One, and I lost one at the gym as I put it in my shoe to track my biking exercise and it somehow just disappeared, I looked all over for it. Then a week later my other one (had a spare that was a hand me down from…
  • Hi everyone! I haven't had a chance to read everyone's post but I like this idea so sharing my diary. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/allibaba I have been on MFP for years; I had great success my first go around then I got lazy for a variety of reasons and my weight crept back on. I have been seriously back at it…
  • I got my first Hello Fresh order for less than $30 Canadian for 3 meals for 2 people. I had leftovers each time (calorie count was high but it was assuming the count was 2 servings and it was more like 3 or 4). Then I got referral credits for friends signing up so I can get another box for around $30. For me that is a…
  • Just added you rilesapp :)
  • I agree on having room in your day for a night snack. Also finding a hobby or something else to do besides snacking. I find hobbies that keep your hands busy are best as that is sometimes what the body wants to do. I took up the ukulele a few months ago and try to practice most evenings.
  • Lots of drinkers on here, :D I love my rum and a good beer, love Steamwhistle and Red Stripe as well as local craft beers. I am cutting down as I drank way too much last month and it wasn't helping the waistline. But I have been enjoying my daily ounce of Appleton XY and I make sure to leave room in my meal plan for it.
  • I had the opposite once when I was pregnant, I was working a job filling up toy crane machines and I was 6 months pregnant (and over 200lbs) and I mentioned it to one of the store owners and she didn't believe me. Some people are just ignorant. We can only choose our reactions to them. I try to keep positive, all I can do…
  • I am also refocusing on my goals, there is no wrong time to rededicate oneself to health! All the best to you and your goals, you can do it!
  • Again congratulations!!! You are an inspiration!!
  • You are a stronger woman than me, I won't cook meat in my house anymore. My bf became vegetarian and my kid eats meat at his Dads, Grandmas or at restaurants (unless he is trying to be on my good side then he orders veggie, lol)
  • I have been vegetarian almost 4 years, my reasons were at first pretty selfish (wanted to lose weight with less fast food temptation) and I started dropping different types of meat one at a time until there was just fish left, then I started educating myself about factory farming and other more ethical reasons for this…
  • I have been loving these posts this morning so here is one from me. I am not at goal yet, but this summer I kicked myself in the butt again and started hiking and backpacking with my bf. We wanted to do this hike called Black Tusk but it was rated difficult so I thought there was no way I could do it but we decided to try…
  • That's a great feeling!!!

  • I would like to lose 5 lbs by Xmas, which would put me around 165 and 10lbs away from my first goal. I think it can be done if I keep up my workouts and I stay away from the rest of the Halloween candy (and the incoming Xmas treats). I will indulge a bit but I know myself and I know with some things there is no happy…
  • That is super!! I have been wearing some of my skinny pants and they are getting looser. I have a pair of yoga pants that I used to barely be able to get over my hips now they go on easy and have about an inch extra at the waist. Woo hoo!!
  • I have a history of eating disorders as well and for me a lot of negativity growing up contributed to them. I sometimes wish I could just eat like a "normal" person and not have to worry so much about food, but the more I learn the more I see that it is difficult for almost everyone. I try to focus more on healthy foods…
  • Hi there, I can always use more supportive pals. I have a fitbit (just got a new one a little while ago, love it!) Add me here and over there if you like. http://www.fitbit.com/user/22KL9T
  • My mom called me Miss Piggy when I was small, mostly referring to my messy room but not entirely and it really stuck with me. :(
  • I think enough people have said that you don't need to drastically cut your sugars, but if you are looking to cut down the hidden sugars that are in many foods be sure to check labels as sometimes foods that you wouldn't think had a lot of sugar in them do. I agree that you shouldn't track sugar on MFP because it doesn't…
  • Thanks for sharing!
  • It seems quite logical that removing some of the broth would reduce the sodium a decent amount since the stock likely contains a good portion of the sodium. As you say though, it will still be somewhat high due to the veggies soaking up the sodium. You can't always make things from scratch so convenience foods sometimes…
  • Josh, I have a lot of hunters in my family and although I don't eat meat I would likely eat some of theirs if the offered it to me (they live a fair distance away so it hasn't come up). My bf was talking about fishing and doing a catch and release because he wanted to stay vegetarian. I said that was really silly, if you…
  • My bf is trying to go vegan and he is 6'2 and a larger frame. We use Vega products as one way to increase protein, I really find taking a shake of some kind is easy for breakfast and when you are working full time easy is important. We also get a good amount of our protein through nuts, I make a lot of different things…
  • First you look wonderful! Great work! Also thanks for this, I am having some of the same issues with my scale but I have been working really hard and doing lots of strength training so I know that I am on the cusp of having similar results to you. Keep it up!!
  • That's really great! Keep up the excellent work!!!
  • Hi there! I have been vegetarian for two+ years and have been doing clean eating and transitioning into veganism for the past month. I look forward to chatting more about this topic with y'all
