Trust me, you will get there. It was only about 2 months ago that I couldn't do even 5 minutes on the elliptical. Now I can do 30+. Just take it easy and go at your own pace adding time as you can. You will get there! Have fun!

You look beautiful! Congrats on reaching your first major goal!

I notice my HRM transmits my heart rate to the machines in the gym where I workout but the calories are not the same as what my HRM gives me. So yes, the HRM does transmit some data.

You're doing awesomely! Keep up the great work!

In total, prior to and after finding MFP I've lost an elephants heart!

Recently purchased and received the Polar FT7 and so far, loving it!!!

I just purchased myself a pair of Ryka Transitions and I love them!!! Comfortable from the start -- no breaking in required. At least not for me.

I have a Polar FT7 and it cost $75.50 through Amazon but was shipped from Heartratemonitors.com. The Fitbit is always $99.

I have them both and I love my Fitbit. However it does mostly measure calories burned by steps taken. I just started using my Polar FT7 and I thought the calorie burns were low but I'm sure way more accurate than the ones MFP gives you. I did a Leslie Sanson video last night for 50 minutes and wore both my HRM and FitBit.…

As many have said, people will notice before you do. I've lost about 42lbs total (I lost some before finding MFP) and just about everyday somebody will comment on my weight loss. Sadly, like many others who've responded, I look in the mirror and all I can see is that I have a lot more to lose. It does take time but hang in…

Thank you everyone for your responses. They are really helpful and encouraging. I'm gonna keep using my FT7 and I've checked all my settings and they are accurate. Next time I'll make sure my strap is as tight as it can be comfortably for best results. I totally agree that an underestimation of calories is better anyday…

Thanks for the information. It's much appreciated. I'll look into creating my own exercises, too.
-
Thank you! I agree that I would rather have a underestimation of calories burned rather than an overestimation any day. I'm gonna keep it and maybe up my exercise for times when I want to see more of a calorie burn. I appreciate your response.
-
Thank you! I think I am convinced that the Polar FT7 isn't giving me an accurate calorie burn but is rather on the low side. Anyone else?
-
I just purchased and received my FT7 and I'm still learning it. However, I'm posting to let you know the price on Heartratemonitors.com (even through Amazon) is $75.50 at the present time.

^^This! Just ordered mine as well. Excited about getting and using it.

I lost 12lbs in my first 3 weeks and then it slowed dramatically. Clothes were a little looser, too.

51 here but only because my birth certificate says so. Most people think I'm younger so I'm going with that. Cheers to everyone here! :drinker: Ya'll look great!!!

"This is it for my motivation... I just feel like driving to mcdonnald's a get a big fat burger" :-S McDonald's sucks!! You've received some great advice on this thread. Hope your motivation increases after reading all the encouraging comments. All the best to you!

I've had my FitBit for about 4 months now and I love it. It really motivated me to move more especially when my main exercise was walking. Now I've joined the gym and along with that am doing various classes like Zumba, Total Body, etc., and I feel the FitBit doesn't give me an accurate calorie burn as it is more step…
