  • Prayers to you. I hope he is found safe and sound.
  • Yep, Smile at her. Maybe she could use a friend. Let her be the one to approach the subject, just like you would let a severely overweight person approach the subject of weight loss. If she is anorexic, saying something to her won't fix her. A smile and a kind word goes a long way though. Hetty
  • I'm ashamed to admit that I sneak Diet Cokes when I'm out. It's my vice. I think I need to get off the Diet Coke, so I'm doing it for Lent. Hopefully I won't ever go back to it.
  • I really liked the Ease into 5K app. It plays your playlist and just a ping with a voice telling you when to walk, when to run, when to cool down. I'm doing the Bridge to 10K right now. Same thing, just longer. I love love love this app. I did C25K before starting this and this is just much easier for me to have fun with.…

  • For those of you that have been helpful and kind. I did go back to maintenance and I'm increasing the speed on my runs and doing hills outdoors (brr). I decided to leave the Body Pump class and switch to a functional core class. We'll see if I can break out of this plateau. I'm pretty sure that is what it was. And I was so…
  • You are so right. Eat and Eat more. Great idea for a weight loss program. So very smart.
  • My diary and personal info is only open to all of my MFP friends, who have helped me. Why bother writing a one word response? If EAT is the solution, then they should be confident with the answer and stop defending it. I obviously was asking a question that needed more than "eat". "Eat" and "eat more" is what got me into…
  • That's a great idea to log the food early. I think I get so bogged down with keeping calories low through the day that I have too much to eat up later in the day without feeling like I've over-eaten.
  • This must be a plateau then, because I still have energy to keep up with my family and my runs are getting faster and easier the more I do it. I am going to try adding a half an avacado and an egg a day on top of my normal diet. That's what I was looking for. Thanks MFP. I'm so ready to get rid the remaining 27. Best…
  • Channa. Thanks for all your support. Now go "help" someone else.
  • My reply was only directed at the one word Smart *kitten* answers. When someone replies with "Eat." I find it sarcastic because I do eat. I do appreciate all of the helpful responses though. I was looking to do a little more research, I should have been more clear. I like the avacado, nuts, egg, cheese idea. That's not…
  • Umm. I do eat. I just don't eat crap food. Looking for HELPFUL answers.
  • Great Job Ann!!! My husband and I cut back on alcohol. We only have beers twice a month now. It has helped so much. We are getting so much healthier and the benifits of staying away from the alcohol have been losing weight a lot faster, among other things. Its a little rough going places with friends, but they seem to be…
  • Love the Bose earbuds. They have different sized buds so you can fit them. I have my old dollar store back ups when I misplace some and adjusting the buds for the cord to fit inside my sports bra seems to stop the cord from jiggling too much when I'm running. That really helps my cheap ones stay in. I still have to adjust…
  • 1. Whole Eggs. I have eggs for breakfast sometimes, but I usually use one whole egg and two egg whites. My favorite breakfast sandwich is the egg mixture on a toasted 100 calorie deli thin with red onion, tomatoe, and salsa 2. Fish Oil. My husband is trying to add this in to my vitamins, but I think it makes my breath…
  • Do you have an ALDI grocery store where you live? Check it out if you do. Just bring your own bags and a quarter for the cart when you go. I have a large family and that grocery store has saved us from going back to cheap processed junk. Great deal on everything and its a world wide company. Much healthier generic foods.…
  • Take this with a grain of salt. I have only been at the gym about three and a half months, but I have lost 34lbs doing it, so I feel like its working. I don't limit myself to a strict program. I like the idea of muscle confusion. Do different activities until you build a custom program that works perfectly for YOU, not…
  • I was going toward a running goal and then got shin splints. Ick. So, I changed to spinning so I could keep my endurance while I heal. I love the burn it gives me. BUT... its hard in a different way. I wonder if maybe you could try a new kind of class or try a new sport? Are you near mountains? Snow shoe, ski, cross…
  • You are NOT ugly. You have a beautiful smile, bright eyes, and pretty hair. I have tried going brunette because I think its sophisticated, but it looks silly when I do it. I soooo wish my hair would do that. Chin up... you are NOT ugly. You have to start focusing on what you like about yourself.

  • My mother does what your sister does. She's just plain mean about it. Its awful. I'm a 33 year old mother of three that is having to limit visits to the grandparents house because all they want to do is sabbotage my lifestyle and make excuses for me to be too busy to work out. I decided I'm bringing along healthy foods to…
  • Hetty's first weigh in. 199.today. i'm in the 9-12lb group.
  • I'm in. I need the 9-12lb group. Sooo excited. The holidays scare me. I can do this though. Best, Hetty
  • Not sure what the30 day shred is? The Firm is 12 different DVD's and an eating plan. Balanced whole foods. No crash diets or anything. The workouts are very intense and last 20 minutes. I sweat more than I ever have before when I do them. Its interval type training. You keep your heart rate up and then do sets of bursts…
