Active (dynamic) stretch before, static stretch after. Here's an active stretch article: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-241-287--13442-0,00.html I just do the leg lifts. Sometimes. After, I stretch gastroc, soleus, hamstrings, quads, IT band. This Not so much. Going slow and following a good training plan is…

Yes. Unless it is, indeed, a toaster. Then it doesn't count.

just a thin film. it's barely even there. seems like it won't do anything, but it works really well.

My vote goes to body glide. Mission brand anti chafe doesn't seem to work well.

Yes I would. Even if it were an upgraded membership to remove ads, and maybe "members only" forums. I'm a developer though, so I'm definitely biased against the "yay we have the Internet, everything is free now" mentality. I think it's ok to charge for things, especially if it's an upgrade to something that's offered for…

I like how many times "shin splints" was said in this thread. Downhill is my killer too. I rarely get any form of shin splints anymore, but if I do, it from downhill running. What I learned: Running downhill causes me to heel strike. And I try to slow down. Those two actions cause more stress. Less heel to toe drop is good…

I used to carry a notebook and a pen. When I joined mfp I was already in the habit of logging everything that went in my face.

what's you're reasoning? does the android do what you need? what does the iphone have that the android does not?

I love the rules. #5 and #10 are my favorite. And shaving? You've got to be the hardest of the hard to shave, so it doesn't break rule 5. I fall short, so I'm fuzzy.

Mine eats everything and then more. Not really sure what to suggest, except offering more than a normal human of his size might be able to eat. Example - mine will pour a whole box of cereal into a salad bowl, cover with milk, and eat it. All.

As often as possible. I'm a fan.

Nothing. Because everything I'm doing now is what is getting me to my goals. But I will be a bit faster, and a bit stronger when I get there. I should maybe think of one way to celebrate though.

Sending a blank friend request is like walking up to someone, wide eyed with a slightly too large smile. And staring at them. Just when the tension becomes even worse, say "yes?" Smile even wider, and nod furiously.

I'm your polar opposite. I need a note with a fr, and if you're not weird we probably won't get along.

holy necro-post, batman! i like the fact that the time lapse between last consecutive post and it's resurrection is close to the gestational period of a human. kinda like the thread said "brb, pregnant." and then "back, with baby."

One thing I've learned, almost *every* post on here results in someone getting their panties in a wad, knickers in a twist, or codpiece in a crease. And a creased codpiece is no picnic.

All of the Terry Pratchett love makes me happy. I'll throw a few into the mix: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. American Gods and Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. Oh, and Neverwhere.

You can always mail your laundry to her.

Anything can happen and difficult situations can work. But...I think the key to a long distance relationship involves someone (or both) people moving at some point. If you can't ever move to be close to one another, that sounds like a pretty big deal breaker. If there's a possibility, then great. Go for it. But please,…

Vision boards aren't a bad idea. I don't personally have one, but they do work. Anything that gets you to focus on your goals is helpful. Even if it's waking up and saying "I want X to happen" etc. You'll work towards finding a way to make it happen, no matter how impossible it may seem. If a board with visual triggers…

My phone hates me, and despises the day it was manufactured. What is has seen, cannot be unseen. But I'm not throwing this stuff around for anyone to see. That might be TMI. I'm okay with that.

I'm kind of getting mixed signals here.

I have a few friends in that age range. So I have no problem with this whatsoever. I'm not going to be the creepy old guy and flirt with them or anything. Mutual support is cool. Maybe they're just looking for support from someone with more experience. Some of the best conversations I've had on here were with my friends in…

I think it makes sense for men to take most of their pics pumped up. Everything just looks more impressive that way.
