I decreased my A1C levels from 6.1 to 5.7! I'm still considered "prediabetic" but not for long! Woohoo!

OOH! As a baker maybe you can come up with some "healthy" frosting recipes to share with the rest of us cake-lovers? Don't worry about cake... I just want the frosting... haha Welcome to MFP! Wishing you lots of success!

Oops, didn't think of searching previous posts for suggestions. I'm having a kind of "dumb day" (which is why I need the drink!) but I'll keep that in mind next time. Thanks! As for everyone else, you guys are fantastic! I really appreciate the recommendations--so far I'm leaning towards the vodka soda with lime.

Yup, you definitely burn more calories in the cold. On top of the exercise, your body burns calories to keep you warm. I remember reading about a women who was determined to swim in FREEZING cold water in the arctic or someplace really cold... I can't recall how long she swam, but it wasn't more than 3 hours. Oh yeah, I used to be the same way! In order to slow myself down, I forced myself to take working lunches. That way I have to stop eating to type/work. Now it's become a routine so I take a bite, do some work, take another bite, etc. and I'm able to stretch my eating out over a full 30 minutes instead of 5. Also, since…

Mitchum!!!!!! Check the active ingredients--I believe this stuff is nearly as strong as the "prescription strength" stuff and cheaper to boot.

Now you're part of the inspirational weight loss crowd! Congrats :)

I was the same way, but it'll get better! I usually adjust to increased water intake within a week.

I waited about a week. To be honest I wasn't expecting to lose anything but the numbers don't lie. It sounds like you might not see a big difference in your weight. Try thinking of your weigh-ins as benchmarks of progress (ie "I made a difference in my life that affected this number" or "I am capable of making changes that…
