I am a vegetarian with lofty hopes of transitioning to vegan....the only problem is I don't react very well with carbs...not helpful! Would be happy to be friends with any fellow non-flesh-eaters :)

Oh, I am so, so sorry. Losing a pet is the most distressing experience. I lost my beloved pooch almost 12 months ago to the day and I am still grieving. Your decision was the most loving decision you could have made. I hope you take some solace in that he is no longer suffering, and that is the best thing. xxxx

That''s great for the visualisation of my goal weight - because I've never been near it before, I can't just 'remember how I used to look'! Thanks for sharing :)

Hey, I've got a similar amount to lose, so add me as a friend if you like. Happy New Year!

Welcome :) I am about 35kg over what I would like to be, and partner and I are hoping for children in the near future too. But I want to get really healthy first! Add me as a friend if you like - there is so much support in this little MFP community - I love it!

Hello and welcome! I read both of AJ Rochester's books a while back - she has a story that I can relate to as well. I hope you find this site useful - feel free to add me as a friend if you like

Avocado AND butter on toast, with salt and pepper. Oh my goodness, it is such a comfort food for me. But you know, fat + fat + carb.....uuughhh

I use mine for foods I like and tend to underestimate - nuts and cheese, for example. I also sometimes spot check my foods to make sure I am on track with my guestimating....the results can be surprising!

Hahaha nice clarification

Prior to my wonderful SO I only dated men taller than me. In fact, when I would go out and about, shorter men didn't even register on my radar - like, I literally did not see them. When I met my partner, I very almost didn't date him because he about 2 inches shorter than me. It was a very conscious decision on my part to…

You look so great - well done!!

Bioceuticals Aminoplex - it's a practitioner prescribed rice protein which honestly is like drinking burnt chalk (I imagine). Making me gag a little just thinking about it. I'm still finishing it, under protest

There's a group called "Happy Herbivores" which is great for sharing recipes, tips and support :)

Ooh, and emurano's avocado too - perfection :)
-
Plus hollandaise sauce and cracked pepper, right? My mouth is watering!!

Oooh, I've heard about the cling wrap method, I am told it gives perfection, but am yet to try it. I just use a few tablespoons of white vinegar in the water, wait until it comes to a rolling boil, crack the egg into a teacup and lower it into the water at an angle. Let a bit of the boiling water into the cup for a few…

Yeah, I can feel a bit out of place about my height, especially when in the company of other women. Most of the time I don't notice it and it doesn't bother me, but sometimes I am acutely aware of being the 'gargantuan'. I wonder if this will change as my width reduces? My lovely boyfriend makes the effort every now and…

I read this article which was posted on a discussion here before and found it really interesting - http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/ She eats an incredible amount of food (protein rich, clean food) and lifts heavy and the changes in her body are incredible. x

I am in love with this - http://www.plantfoodfabulous.com/2010/10/lentils-and-quinoa-with-roasted.html - at the moment. It makes enough for at least 6 serves so I freeze leftovers for lunches. I only made the roasted broccoli part the first time I tried the recipe, but the lentils/quinoa part is so versatile it will go…

Welcome! I'm from Adelaide. Feel free to add me as a friend. This site is full of awesome people, I hope you find it helpful

I take a green smoothie to work every day - I blend it up in the morning and either put it in a shaker bottle and store in the fridge at work, or use a cooled thermos if it's a warmer day. I have never frozen them - I don't know if they would be as smooth if they were thawed? Not sure. As for recipe ideas - I use a banana,…

Bump for later. I'm always on the hunt for good veg*n sources. LOVE healthyblendergirl.com (someone mentioned that earlier). Her vegan brownies are just incredible.

Welcome! I hope you find this site helpful - there are lots of wonderful people here in the same position, so you are not alone. I agree with the previous posters re. water, and beans! But overall, I find that eating clean (ie fresh, unprocessed as much as possible) is the cheapest and most satisfying way of eating. The…

I'm not sure about 'negative calories' (in anything!) but if you are in doubt, I would definitely take the time to enter the ingredients of your salad into the recipe builder, so you can get a more accurate number. This is more difficult, of course, if you didn't prepare it, but in time you will be able to sight your salad…
