On weekdays I combine pea protein powder with 1tbsp ground flaxseeds, 1tbsp of ground chia seeds and water. On weekends I try to enjoy my breakfasts a little more so it is usually eggs of some description - either poached and served with a little hollandaise (the sauce of the gods) or an omelette filled to bursting with…

Bump :)

OP I am the same as you - I piled on something like 7kg (15.4lb) in the 6 months after I stopped eating meat. I don't eat much dairy either, thanks to stomach issues. I do still eat eggs. I can only speak for myself, but I think my problem was that I was eating far too many processed carbs (breads, pasta), and fake meats…

 Lol "Oh so ronrey..." It's stuck in my head now! I'm from Adelaide

You did your first class! Yay for you! You should be very proud of taking that step - it takes a lot of courage, especially if you are self-conscious (and who isn't?). The most important thing is to go back again next week. You'll be a pro in no time :) You got this x

Shoes for sure! The HRM is good, useful and fun, but good trainers are essential for your wellbeing. Happy choosing!

You've done a great job - congratulations!

I definitely second the Singer suggestion.

I am 65 days smoke free (yay!) and did it with Champix - although I've been off the Champix for about 2 weeks now. No matter all my promises to myself about quitting, I could never truly visualise myself as a non-smoker, that's how much smoking was a part of my life, and who I thought I was. But I was kidding myself - of…

I'm confused by this - is the "myth" that the OP knows about animal agriculture? Or that veganism is "a religion"?

I too avoid meat, dairy and soy (where I can) for various reasons. I use pea protein powder to supplement my protein intake without messing with my other macros. It doesn't give me belly issues like whey powder, and it isn't chalky like I have found rice protein to be. Protein powder, especially after a workout, is…

Edited to stop myself being antagonistic. Yay for self-censoring! (albeit after the fact :P)

I agree with how (some of) the above posters have responded (in some respects). It would be nigh on impossible to lead an ethically perfect life in relation to food sources, without being totally self sufficient/living from the land. However, I do believe that educating yourself as best as possible about the origins of…

Thanks so much for the replies - I am definitely going to give it a go - just have to convince the SO to come with me!

Wow, that is very cheap. Thanks for the tip.

Derby FTW! x

I think pre-logging helps a lot. It makes sure I reach my macro targets, and provides certainty of what I am eating so I am not making rushed choices (and possibly bad choices!).

I don't see any issue with you having friends outside of the marriage. To tell you that you can't continue friendships that existed prior to the marriage is a control issue that I would not feel comfortable with. That is your husband's issue though, not yours. Good luck.

I have the DVD waiting for me to work up the courage to start it! I'm not sure if I'm fit enough yet and don't want to do myself an injury :)
-
I LOVE this! Could I borrow it for the next time I get one of those inane 'top of the food chain' comments?! It really irks me when people say stupid things about it being 'natural' for us to eat animals....Yeah, good luck eating your factory-farmed, antibiotic and hormone-laden in-bred miserable meat....just how nature…

Oooh, we're the same age :) Add me as a friend if you like!

I'm a BIG fan of Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012. It's so awesome. I've never been one to exercise at home, but I bought the kinect just after Christmas and I haven't been backto my gym yet!

Welcome! You've got the perfect amount of time to join a 12 week challenge! Maybe like Jamie Eason's LiveFit trainer? Good luck!

I've been vegetarian for just over a year and I love it. I am always on the lookout for food ideas and my diary is open to my friends

Lol....maybe not "boiling"....but you know, more than "tepid"....

These stories make my blood boil to read. Did you say something to him? Or did you get all mad and spend the next half-day thinking about all the things you could have said/done? (I probably would have chosen the second option, but like to think that one day I'll be sassy enough to say something to someone's face when…

Adelaide here as well - always happy to have more local friends (same country = local for me!)

I purchased the xbox with kinect over Christmas and bought a couple of games as well - Zumba, Dance Central 2 and Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012. I haven't used the first two very much yet because I embarrass myself alone in my own lounge-room with my lack of dancing skills/co-ordination, but I am totally in LOVE with YS.…
