That's not correct. If they have simultaneous possession, it goes to the offensive player. That was not simultaneous possession. Even Gerry Markbreit said that.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into the sleeves at the expo tomorrow. Funny thing about that forum you sent me to...at first the posts were helpful, but after a while they started getting a little mean. That seems to happen a lot.

I remember him...even before he was the Million Dollar Man. I used to watch him on WCCW on TBS back in the early/mid 80s.

I recommend getting a training plan. I like to refer people to www.runnersworld.com. There is a Smartcoach section under the Training link. Or you can download the Smartcoach app for your smart phone. It's pretty easy to setup and follow. Good luck.

I usually walk from my house to the paved trail (about .35 miles), then I start my run. I took this from the smartpacing website I use for calculating my 1/2 Marathon pace. It applies more to races, but is still good info. During the warm-up, the body goes from inefficient fuel burning (converting oxygen, sugar/fat,…

That's funny!

Oh...I might be that guy. I even have my bib and split-time info hanging in my cubical just to suck people in.

Thanks for the info. I've been telling my wife about lifting heavy, but never found any info on it. Congrats, again.

You look great! Congrats on your success. What kind of workouts did you do? Did you have a book, or videos? Trainer?
-
Hey....you stole my post. :-) I love the smartcoach plans. They do spam the heck out me, though.

I followed the Smartcoach plan from www.runnersworld.com for my first 1/2 back in May. I never actually ran over 11 miles in any run prior to the race. Although, my plan did have tempo and speed work built in during the week. It worked out great for me, I beat my goal time of 1:53:36 by 2:59. I'm no expert, but I don't…

Congrats! Good to see a fellow Omahan on here.

I kind of went through the same thing this summer in Nebraska. It was so hot during June and July. I just tried to get out as early as possible and get my miles in. I don't have any real words of wisdom...maybe just slow it down and make sure you stay hydrated and fueled. I use the GU Energy Gel on runs over an hour. That…

HAHAHAHA! I was literally laughing out loud.

There's an article about this on runnersworld right now. http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-242-304--14055-0,00.html?cm_mmc=NL-Nutrition-_-1009824-_-08162012-_-Adding-Pounds-as-You-Add-Miles%3F

I've never been a gym-rat, but when I was going to the gym, I had nothing but respect for the bigger people. They're right where they need to be. I did have a problem with the fitness Barbie, smacking her gum and giggling with the 3 guys leaning on the elliptical she was using....

Exactly what I was thinking. Oh, and the Octoberfest seasonal beers are hitting the shelves now, so it's a great time to get a 6 pack.

Awesome! Keep it up. That little nugget you're holding needs you around.

Purely a compliment, not hitting on you, but you're very pretty. Nothing to be self-conscious about in my opinion.

I've been running for a few years now. Feel free to add me.

Hope it's not bad form to quote your own post...I forgot to add that I'm running the Boxer 500 Colon Cancer Awarenes 5k this Sunday (12 Aug.)

The Omaha 1/2 Marathon, Sep 23rd. My second 1/2 this year...and ever, for that matter. Found out a couple of weeks ago there is a 2 mile hill on the course.

Good luck with your half and congrats on getting married. Have you seen this: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/resources/gallracepredict.html Not sure if that answers your question or not.

Still can't do it...sheesh. Anyway, here's a link to it: http://omahamarathon.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/Omaha-Half-Marathon-2011.pdf

Thanks! It's pretty big, but not as big as Lincoln. The 2011 race had 603 marathon finishers and 2308 1/2 marathon finishers. Lincoln had 10,000 entrants. Apparently, there is a killer hill in the Omaha course. I looked at it on the website...they have a cool elevation profile. It's close to 2 miles long from miles…

So you found the freebies?

Congratulations! It's quite an accomplishment. You should definitely be proud of yourself. Just curious, you said it wasn't exactly the time you trained for...what went wrong?
