• Hi! Returning to MFP cause it's time to start focusing on losing this weight. I have a 5 month old and I have 50 lbs to lose before I start trying for baby number 2 next year. I still weigh the same as when I came home from the hospital - it's time. Feel free to add me!
• Thanks! and YES - I LOVE that I can wear sleeveless tops without being self-conscious.
• Hi there! I'm 30 years old, 5'4" and I'm 22 lbs down. I'm looking to lose another 10-15 before my wedding in November and want to lose another 30 or so overall. Feel free to add me!
• Thanks! I'll check these out!
• Can someone educate me on the basics of the keto diet?
• My wedding is in 17 weeks (November 8). I'd like to lose another 10-15 lbs by then. 15 lbs in 11 weeks is tough but doable. Just gotta buckle down. Upping your workouts is always good but just remember that most of the work is done in the kitchen...
• A poor diet can be a symptom of and a contributor to feeling depressed. You already have the right idea about getting out there and engaging in some healthy activities - working out, playing your guitar. Doing anything that brings you any interest at all is a great first step. The important thing is to start doing…
• Here's some things I do: Workout when your stressed. It gets out the emotions in a healthy way and promotes weight loss. There are so many types of exercises depending on what type of stress you are feeling - if you need to run or bike it out, yoga/pilates, dance class, play sports, weight lifting. Lots to do. Other…
• I'm still focused on the details but I think at a certain point it's healthy to let some things go and let the day be what it'll be. Most of the time those little details don't matter in the long run. But if it's something important that you'll remember years down the line just stick it out for the next couple months and…
• LOVE this machine - wish my gym had it!
• I'm thinking about adding in morning workouts too - likely HIITs. And I plan on cutting out all alcohol the month before the wedding. Just trying to think of other little changes I could make.
• Hey fellow brides! I'm getting married November 8th and I've lost 20 lbs in the last 10 months. Hoping to take it up a notch in this final 4 month stretch and lose some more - even if I don't meet my ultimate goal for the wedding I plan on doing everything I can till then trying. Feel free to add me!
• It hit me at 6 months and hasn't stopped. I'm 4 months out as of today. It seems strange that it's actually going to happen. I'm trying to not freak out too much though. Just gotta trust that it'll all get done and what will be will be.
• Feel free to add me too! I have over 50 lbs to lose total - my goal for my wedding in November is 40 lbs from my starting weight. After my wedding I plan to keep going for the additional 10+ lbs I want to lose. After all, there's a hot little bikini for my honeymoon out there somewhere with my name on it. I've lost 21 lbs…
•
Really helpful! I'll absolutely be taking that advice! Similarly so, what about the night before? Obviously I've got the rehearsal dinner the night before and I'm not sure what to do! :(
I was thinking some lean protein and veggies - like chicken and brocoli. Maybe have a glass or two of wine for the…
• I don't think it's Tennis Elbow. Just checked out some information on it and it doesn't seem like my pain is in the same area where Tennis Elbow usually presents... the pain is more IN the elbow...
• "If nothing changes. Nothing changes." And "A year from now you'll wish you had started today."
• I didn't use to weigh in multiple times a day. I've always just weighed myself after waking up and using the restroom. What happened was one day I stepped on the scale at my gym after work to see if it was similar to my scale at home - just curious. I noticed such a big difference that when I got home I stepped on my scale…
• My new job that I've been at since the beginning of the year isn't much more physical than my previous one. Maybe slightly but it's kind of negligible. But one major difference is that at my new job I don't snack anymore. My old job had a kitchen FULL of snacks I used to indulge in but not at my new one so I'm definitely…
• I was the same way until I hit the 6 month mark. There was something about being 6 months out that got it into my head that this was actually happening. I've been doing pretty well since then. Not losing as fast as I want but I'm seeing a difference. I'm now 5 months out and if I stick with it I feel like I have a good…
• Congrats! That's awesome! I love when that happens. The other day while getting ready for work I put on a pair of pants that I've been avoiding because they dug into my waist too much... and they didn't at all. They were totally comfortable. :)
• Congrats on your weight loss! I've been focusing a lot on my arms right now in prep for my upcoming wedding. There are SO many great arm exercises out there but here are a few of my favorites: Shoulder press bicep curls tricep push downs bench press Those are pretty simple exercises but they all really target all the major…
• Is your dress a corset back? Those naturally provide the support to lift. Otherwise - most seamstresses can sew in cups to a dress so I don't see why they couldn't do that with push up cups...
• I agree with this. Strength training can change the shape of your body dramatically. Start a lifting program - there are lots of good ones out there. Check out the New Rules for Lifting for Women group here on MFP.
• Thanks! I'll check them out next time I'm at Target. Didn't realize they were from the same people who make Spanx...
• I'm also wearing a strapless dress and have been really focusing on my arms/chest/back while at the gym. I do bench press, lat pull downs, rows, shoulder press, bicep curls, various tricep workouts, etc etc. I haven't moved the needle much in the scale department cause I'm not doing much cardio but my arms are down an inch…
• I've been trying to eat less starches and less dairy though sometimes I fail at both :) I think what will be key for me is to cut out alcohol. Not only will it cut out those calories but it also would prevent me from snacking on crap when my inhibitions are down or when I'm hungover and just want to eat a burrito or…
• I'm most excited about: 1. Marrying the best person I've ever met. 2. Dancing my *kitten* off 3. Getting ready with my best friends beforehand in an amazing bridal cottage that the venue provides.... though I need to start working on that getting ready playlist.... :)
