  • I used to be on Prozac and Celexa- however I think I ate better when I was on these because I stopped binging. However, after a few months I think felt like I didn't need them anymore and went off of them. I haven't been back on them since and I feel like I'm doing great. But I have heard that antidepressants can make it…
  • I know how you feel- I'm kind of in the same boat. I think if you're at a healthy weight, you could try living and strength training to tone and build muscle & lose fat vs just losing weight. That's what I've been trying to do lately. I'm not a gym fanatic though and I don't want to be someone who's obsessed w/ working out…
  • I agree, I don't agree with going by an individual's BMI (there should be a more effective way of determining health), but it's part of the job. Just like models have to look a certain way for their industry, and how fitness trainers have to be/look a certain way for their job.
  • Where did you read that? There are only 50 calories per cup.. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/strawberries-raw-9316 You can also verify that on several other websites. Strawberries are low in cals, and good for you too.
  • I'm currently 106 lbs, 5'3". My main goal right now is to build muscle and lose body fat. I try to exercise at least 5 days a week w/ 20 minutes cardio and then strength training 3 days a week. I do everything from home- I have a small exercise bike I use during the winter. I love to run outside when the weather allows it.…
  • I don't like to count anything except calories (anything else gets to be too overwhelming and chore like for me). However, I am aware of about how much fat, protein and carbs I consume each day. I try to eat more protein and fat then carbs, cause for me carbs = sugar, and sugar = lots of health problems and fat. For me,…
  • My waist is 23" in the morning when I wake up and usually 24" when I go to bed at the end of the day. My waist has always been one of my better features, it's usually one of the last places I gain weight.
  • I don't think this works for everyone. I'm 105 lbs, and if I ate 1050 calories a day, I'd starve. I lose weight when I eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day. To maintain I need to eat about 1500 or 1600.
  • It bothers me that I feel like I can never talk about wanting to lose weight or anything diet-related around family and friends because I am already skinny, and they think that if I talk about diet/weight loss, I am only fishing for compliments. This makes me feel isolated sometimes because I feel like I'm not "allowed" to…
  • This is my favorite 350 calorie meal: 8 oz of Shirataki noodles boiled with beef broth --- 0 calories 4 oz of chicken tender --- 100 calories 1/4 cup of Alfredo sauce --- 110 calories 3 Tbsp Parmesan cheese --- 60 calories 1 can of canned green beans --- 80 calories Total: 350 calories and a HUGE meal full of protein,…
  • I have two cats, both girls. Christmas, she's the diva, and Yoda, she's the trouble maker/toddler
  • I can relate, plateaus stink. From my own experience, all I can recommend is that you eat more calories, and try a new exercise or increase your distance, frequency, and intensity of your current exercise. You could also try switching up your diet, even if you are eating very healthy, try incorporating new foods that you…
  • I know there are adult classes where I live. I bet if you didn't have any in your community, you could start up a group with friends or neighbors and tumble at your gym or backyard :)
  • I'm not a professional or expert, but here's my advice: -I would increase your calories to about 1500 a day to start with, maybe 1600 if you are overweight. I think 1200 is to low to start out with, unless you are already at your ideal weight. Your diary looks great though. -Make sure you are incorporating exercise into…
  • I gain about 3 lbs the week before my period, and then it comes off a few days after I've started.
  • I'd stay away from any weight loss program that seems too good to be true, because weight that comes off quickly, usually goes back on just as fast. Weight lost slowly (not too slowly) stays off and it's easier to maintain your new weight. I know it's super hard to be patient, but it's so worth it in the long run.
  • Congrats! The best piece of advice I can give is not to eat for two people. Also, my sister is prone to gestational diabetes, and she has to stick to a very strict diet for her and her baby's safety.
  • I wouldn't try to force yourself to eat if your body doesn't need it (telling you that your hungry). I think you will be just fine by not eating back your exercise calories.
  • I do think it tends to overestimate a little, I only burn about 200 for 30 minutes of jogging.
  • I do tricep dips off the side of my desk, I also do lunges and pushups when no one else is around haha.
  • Like everyone else has said, it just depends on what works for you. I run a lot and I also eat mostly carbs. I lose weight as long as I stay within my calories for the day. This is just me, but I'm much more likely to stay on track and eat healthy (fruits, veggies, proteins) when I am satisfied with my carbs. I could never…

  • Stay within your calories for the day.
  • I'm 5'3'' my current weight is 107, I like this being at this weight, but I'd love to get back down to 100 and tone.
  • I'd MUCH rather eat less and exercise moderately than eat a ton and exercise a ton to make up for it. It is more realistic to me to eat between 1200 and 1400 cals a day and exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes than to eat 2000 calories and exercise for an hour or more every day.
  • I'm 5'3'', I like to run a lot, so I'm maintaining about 107lbs. I feel my best at this weight, and it works for me. I think it all just depends on what fits your lifestyle :). I do have a quite a bit of muscle too from doing strength training with my own body weight, I hardly ever use free weights.
  • No, I don't think you will have excess skin, unless you are morbidly obese maybe. As long as you are losing weight at a healthy rate (1-3 lbs per week) and building muscle at the same time and doing cardio, you will be just fine! :)
  • Shirataki Noodles have 0 calories because they are pure fiber. You can find them on Amazon. They don't taste very good by themselves, and they have a texture that takes some getting used to, but they are the only 0 calorie food I know of. Squash is very low calorie, so are strawberries, cucumbers, and carrots. I snack on a…
  • I'm 5'3'' and 108. My goal is 105. My highest was 118 and I didn't feel healthy, but maybe it was because I had not gone running in several months.
