  • Did you just steal my stats? Mine are exactly the same :)
  • Add me as a friend if you like I have done 3 halfs and just completed my second full in Vegas last sunday in 4:30:32 (nowhere near BQ).
  • For me it is all in the mindset. I am all or nothing. When I am healthy, I am really healthy, when I am not, I am really not. I am not really an in between person. I was running 5K every day in college and was about the weight I am now (a few pounds more, but very fit) then exams hit and I lost momentum. I gained back…

  • I think the moral of the story is that we are all focused on different things but our goal is the same. Isn't the beauty of it that we are all getting results? No need to argue about what is more or less important. Find what works for you and for your body and then celebrate your own victory :)
  • Cool, can't wait to try this, post-marathon (One week). It makes sense. It sucks force feeding after a 3 hour run to reach 1200 net. This sounds a lot more logical and effective as a runner.
  • Wow, Rachel. If I hadn't seen your face in the top picture, I would have thought that was me. We have almost identical proportions!!
  • I get that often too. As long as your goal is not unhealthy ignore what they say. It may be that they are jealous of your success and don't want any more interruption to the status quo because it means they would have to think about making a change too. Continue what you are doing, you are doing this for you, not them.…
  • Coffee or tea (green, preferably, but black works too). Safe, effective and cheap.
  • Story of my life. I have learned to drink tea/ coffee and have a hot water bottle to curl up with, or even get moving a bit to warm up. Otherwise I turn to sugar and starches because apparently your body warms up as you digest them (comfort foods in the winter= macaroni and cheese, pie, etc). Find ways to stay warm without…
  • Hopefully they will have them at the expo next week in Vegas
  • My new favorite breakfast is plain nonfat (or greek) yogurt, mixed with protein or meal replacement powder (I have chocolate, strawberry and vanilla to keep it interesting). Makes like a pudding. I add half a cup of all bran original cereal and mix it all up. It is a yummy parfait that is full of protein and fiber, keeps…
  • I mix a serving of slim fast (I am assuming it is similar) with a serving of plain, fat free greek yogurt. Makes a high protein, nutritious pudding that is really satisfying.
  • Ooh... I wanna know too. I am bottomless, until it starts, and then I am sick as a dog.
  • I went to the gyno on two separate occasions, had a really bad experience with the first one (traumatizing for little innocent, at the time, me) and did not go back for about 5 years. I heard about a much better gyno and went to her, she was awesome, but because of our faulty health system in our city, she got fed up and…
  • I ran Seattle Rock and Roll Marathon in June and it was quite hilly (which I trained for). It helped that there were Army boys handing out water at the top of the toughest hill though
  • NEW YORK!! I would love to collect medals from the RnR series. So far I have Seattle and in just over three weeks I will have Vegas XD
  • I am doing my second Rock and Roll Marathon in Vegas Dec. 4th. I love the RnR series, so fun and well organized (I did Seattle in June). I love Smartcoach too :)
  • Did my final LSD run today before raceday. Felt a little weak, nauseous so it only ended up being 26k but almost 3 hours. I am okay with it because I did 35k two weeks ago. Taper begins now :S
  • Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon December 4th XD
  • Hi all, I am Cher and I am from the beautiful Okanagan Valley in BC, Canada. I originally started running with a friend who would only hang out with me if I went for a run with her (no coffee dates). I got hooked and was running 5K every day during my last year of college. Of course exams happened and running stopped.…
  • I have a small waist and full cup 30D It is next to impossible to even find a bra that fits properly, let alone one that is cute. I cannot even shop at the cheap stores like LaSenza and Victoria's Secret because the smallest band they carry is 32 and the largest cup in that band is a B.
  • THANK YOU FOR THIS <3
  • You just made my life XD Calories in and calories out ultimately are the only hard and fast rule. I could never do low carb, that's why I run, so I have an excuse to eat carbs I love.
  • You sound like a pear like me. It has taken a long time, and it is the last area to go, but I have managed to lose 4 inches off my hips mainly by running (like, marathon running). I tend to melt down so I lose my chest first, then my waist and finally my hips, and thighs. It just takes persistence and patience. I have…
  • Test what works for you on your training runs. I do half and full marathons and my pre-race breakfast is a Starbucks ginger molasses cookie and a banana. It is calorie dense and easily digestible. It probably wouldn't work for a 5K but, like I said, trial and error is key because everybody's stomach is different and you…
  • Only you know what will work for you. I personally don't do well when something is forbidden. I only want it more. When I feel out of control I try to take a break from whatever it is until I feel more in control. I will eat veggies and then go back to what I wanted to binge on or I will put some orajel on my tongue to…
  • I agree, I grew up with my parents making wine. I hate the smell of it when it is being made and still cannot stand wine or beer. It was never forbidden so it was never a big deal (my parents let us taste it whenever we wanted to and we always thought it was gross). I didn't even get my first buzz 'til I was 23…
  • I have a massive bowl of veggies with mustard (to dip) and have told myself that I can have no more candy until I finish the veggies and a 24oz glass of water. Hoping that slows my frenzy down a bit.
  • I have trail mix almost daily. I just pre-portion it out into 1/4 cup servings in snack bags. 175 cals (for the brand I buy) and I don't feel deprived. Way more satisfying than one of the sugar laden pastries at my workplace (Starbucks). Portion control is the name of the game.
