  • The popping clicking could indicate a labral tear as well. Like I said, its hard to say what it is without doing an evaluation. You could have poor scapular stabilizers, RC tear, labral tear, impingement etc. Go see a PT ASAP so that you can get it assessed!
  • The fact that the dumbbell tricep extension (the one over your head) is causing you pain tells me some things. You could have impingement syndrome or like others have said a rotator cuff pathology. Do you experience clicking when you raise your arm overhead? Without seeing whats going on and doing an evaluation its hard to…
  • I've been there before. But what we have to remember is that our weight does fluctuate throughout the week. Do you weigh yourself daily? If you do remember that it'll go up and down. I love carbs! So whenever I have a day full of LOTS of carbs I tend to gain and its harder to lose it. Don't be discouraged it'll take a…
  • When I first started losing weight I didn't do cheat days, but once I started getting closer to my goal weigh I incorporated a cheat meal and like the video said its good psychologically and metabolically.
  • I wouldn't cut them out completely. If you enjoy them, then eat them! Whenever I completely cut out a food I love I end up falling of the wagon and gaining more than I lost. I would recommend eating them but in moderation. Maybe 2 bagels a month. Or just one side of the bagel, or a smaller bagel. I'm also trying to pair my…
  • I don't usually wait an hour. I try to at least wait 30 minutes though. But I do take it as soon as I wake up and then shower, pack my lunch etc. like someone said. My levels have remained the same.

  • I just discovered it as well so I'll be interested to see what people say. I really like their Vegetable fried rice. I don't use oil to cook it though. I use I can't believe its not butter spray since its 0 calories and it works well.

  • I had 2 waffles and 2 scrambled eggs. I always try to pair protein in whenever I eat carbs.
  • Remember it takes time to find the right dosage. I got checked after 3 months of being on it to see what levothyroxin was doing to my levels and if I needed to increase the dosage or decrease it. At this point in time, the medication isn't giving me the boost I felt in the beginning. I lost 30 lbs pretty quickly but now…

  • I'm from Cleveland...enough said. Cleveland is actually a beautiful city!! But winters are a biiiiotch.
  • I take mine in the morning and wait for 30 minutes before I eat...sometimes its 20 minutes, sometimes less. But like others have said my labs have always come back normal.
  • Weight loss has its ups and downs and there's no doubt about that. You've had a lot of ups lately and you're hitting a down now. Try something new! New exercise class, new recipe, just something new! You gotta switch it up to keep yourself sane. Doing the same thing day in and day out gets old and you start to focus on…

  • Propel zero drink mixes and I like to make my own home made iced tea. I mix green tea with a flavored tea packet. And ice. add ice. It makes it SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!
  • I weigh myself everyday or every other day. Keeps me accountable. If I see the number going up I know I need to kick my butt in gear and exercise and eat better. If Its going down I know I need to keep doing what I'm doing. But thats just how it works with me!
  • I have the polar FT4 as well...and I have no complaints! I suggest getting it on Amazon or something because it was about 40 dollars more at the store!
  • Physical Therapist
  • I'm so glad that you're seeing an endocrinologist. I think hypothyroidism is such a tricky topic. I went to my doctor recently because some of my symptoms were coming back and I just wanted to express my concerns and maybe get some answers. Since my levels were "normal" she slapped a diagnosis of depression on me and left…
  • Yayy love this thread!! I just started and did the first week last week. Still havn't done the 2nd week yet. Im going to try the workout 1 of week 2 and see if I can manage. Are you all moving on once the workout gets easy? Week one wasnt easy for me but definitely doable. Suggestions?

  • I highly suggest getting a HRM. I have the Polar FT4. MFP was OVERLY overestimating my calories burned with activities prior to getting my HRM. I mean like 400-500 calories off! That can make or break your week!

  • I'll be a physio after I pass my boards, but I guess even if I dont pass i'll still have my doctorate... Bend your knees when you're lying on the floor...it helps! Also look up transversus abdominus exercises. It targets the lower abs that help support your back... All above exercises have been good suggestions as well if…
  • 120/80 is normal blood pressure or anything slightly lower than that. That is what I learned in school. If you ask someone who works with heart related patients (echocardiologists) they say that 120/80 is now considered higher than it should be. I wouldn't worry about lowering your blood pressure too much past this…
  • People with Celiac disease should not eat gluten. Besides the side effects that gluten causes, continuous consumption of gluten foods damages the digestive system for these individuals. However, if you don't have celiac disease you can still eat healthy and lose weight eating foods with gluten.
  • I think its important to remember that each hypothyroid individual has different symptoms. I for one was so fatigued that in a year I gained 100lbs. I can't completely put the blame on the thyroid, but along with the weight gain came depression like symptoms made me just not care. Once I got on the medication I lost 30lbs…
  • I don't eat back my exercise calories all the time, so this thread is helping me understand a little bit more of the reasoning behind it. I do have one piece of advice. MFP was estimating my calorie burn for my regular workout in the 600-700 calorie range. I just got a heart rate monitor yesterday and the calorie burn was…
  • Going to my first spinning class today so I was just reading this post to see what people were saying. I'm a physical therapist, so I know a little about knee pain and exercise. Just because spinning isn't a high impact activity doesn't necessarily mean that you can spin your heart out and not worry about your knees. The…
  • You could be over pronating when you run. You said that you just bought new shoes which is very important but if you have the wrong kind it may not be doing you any favors. Go to a shoe store where they look at your feet and the way you walk/run. You may need a more stiff shoe that has more support on the medial part of…
  • I switch up my water by drinking flavored water. So it feels like a treat. I get the 0 calorie propel individual drink mix. So good, AND you're getting your water in. If not I snack on walnuts and dried cranberries.
  • I think its great to drink lots and lots of water! But too much water also isn't a good idea either. The more you drink the more you pee...and that can affect your bladder. It can turn into an overactive bladder. With that being said I don't think it will hurt to drink a littler more than 8 glasses a day, just be aware if…
