  • I logged on after a far too long hiatus, and I stayed within my goal for the day.
  • Hahaha!!!! YES! P90x Plyometrics. The entire workout is fun, but I think it's because I feel like a kid again with all the jumping around.
  • Speaking from my own experience with my homemade recipes, the recipe calculator doesn't give you the option to put in serving size, only the number of people the recipe serves. So much of my diary is based on "1 serving, 2 servings" because many of my foods are home cooked including tortillas, bread, etc.
  • Why are you bummed? That's approximately 1 pound a week, which is the perfect rate to lose slow and steady. Be proud of yourself for doing it the right way.
  • Are you also taking your measurements? I've been doing this for nearly a month and the scale hasn't budged either, though I've only weighed in once because I have a bad history with the scale. HOWEVER, the inches are coming off like crazy and I can feel some changes in the way my clothes fit. The scale has a tendency to…
  • I'm doing P90x because it alternates the lifting and cardio, and it's kicking my butt. I've never been a fan of the machines at the gym, and this way I can challenge myself with the free weights.
  • Not buying much because I'm saving up to buy myself a piece of land in the mountains, but I plan to get some extra magazines for my pistol and a nice tactical vest for shooting competitions.
  • Of course he says he lost 100 lb doing his plan with no exercise, he's trying to make money. And I'm pretty sure Joe Rogan was paid to do a podcast with him, since the standard for infomercials is to hire paid actors to tout your claim. If you don't plan on sticking with this diet forever, it's doomed to fail. Lifestyle…
  • The more you power through the cravings, the more you feel deprived and crave it more. What about portion controlling it and filling up with other stuff? If you want pizza, make room in your budget for two homemade slices and a nice sized salad with dressing on the side. Maybe go light on the pizza sauce and load it up…
  • Speaking as a registered nurse who has spent much time on a post operative open heart surgical unit, no, there are not medications to smooth out PVC's. The Rhythmol was probably prescribed to you to treat your atrial fibrillation and from what you were describing, possible intermittent SVT, not the PVC's.
  • PVC's in a healthy individual are usually caused from external factors such as excess caffeine, and are also termed as an "irregular regular" rhythm because they have a tendency to show up in a certain pattern. I wouldn't worry about them unless you start to develop additional symptoms. Did the cardiologist have you wear a…
  • Is there a local indoor pool that you could use? Swimming is a wonderful way to burn a lot of calories with minimal impact, and best of all you don't have to sweat. :)
  • If I had the abs that these ladies and gentlemen flaunt, you bet your *kitten* I'd be posting pics of myself. I've been hiding my six pack under a layer of fluff so long, the last time my ab muscles were exposed to daylight probably involved teased hair, bad pop music, and cuffed pant legs. No one should be judged for…
  • Love the post! Hahaha!!!! I'm not doing the C25K at this time (I don't do well running in cold weather) but am starting the full 90 day P90x rotation tomorrow, as technical difficulties forced me into another form of cardio/lifting today. Best of luck on your journey!
  • Welcome to MFP! Congratulations on your engagement!
  • Welcome, Pat!
  • I go for the high protein dishes and the fruits and vegetables at family gatherings, and if I decide I want to splurge on dessert, I take a small piece of whatever it is and split the portion with my husband. It helps me keep my goals in line, and I don't feel so deprived or left out. Lord knows no one can cook like a…
  • I feel that way quite a bit, and I have to step back and look at myself objectively which is very hard for me. I've been through counseling for it (many issues stem from a verbally abusive dad) which has really helped, but some days are still bad. Comparison pictures really help, and looking at other women who are at a…
  • Welcome! I'm a fan of Little Debbies myself, which is why I can't keep them in the house. :)
  • Are you getting enough sleep? I had a lot of issues with craving sugar when I worked 3rd shift, because it was my body's way of trying to keep me focused and alert, and I find I crave sugars and carbohydrates more when I'm tired, bored, or stressed out. I had to quit cold turkey, though I still allow myself some treats…
  • I don't see why you CAN'T have the steak or pork chop if it's not floating in a sea of butter or cream. Shoot, I made steak fajitas last night with homemade tortillas and salsa, and I'm a Midwestern girl at heart who loves her meat and potatoes- I just eat the potato baked now so I can measure out the sour cream, and I…
  • Welcome! I used to be a WW'er too (way back when the 1-2-3 system came out!) but became frustrated with the mentality of "Who cares if all you ate were Snickers bars all day as long as you stayed within your points!" I've kept the initial weight I've lost off, but not without a serious reality check, educating myself, and…

  • Sparkpeople.com also has tons of free workout videos that you can stream, usually varying from 10-30 minutes long and incorporating everything from strength training to dance and yoga. I did two of them this morning, one a 20 minute cardio blast and another 15 minute Bollywood dance that was pretty fun.
  • Thanks for the responses! I do have to weigh in today (doctor's appointment) but I'm ready for it. I did some sculpting this morning so I'm prepared to see some water retention, and that's okay with me because I know I've been sticking with my plan. :)
  • The best advice I can give you from my perspective is to stop calling it a diet. A diet implies something temporary, whereas making your food consumption a way of life gives you a better opportunity to create long term, lasting habits. :) When I approach eating as a diet, I fail miserably because I tell myself I "can't"…
  • Congrats! Keep it up!
  • Keep toning and use cocoa butter, and like everyone else said they will eventually fade. As the saying goes (and I saw above), "Your body is NOT ruined. You are a god*&@ed TIGER and you earned your stripes." Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't deserve to have you, honey. You are beautiful and you can do this!
  • My favorite way to use the vanilla or chocolate is to add a tablespoon of peanut butter, a frozen banana, and 1/2 c of skim milk before blending, and it turns out the consistency of ice cream. It's so good (in my opinion!) that I feel like I'm eating something decadent. I also bake protein muffins based off of this recipe…
