Starting day 4 for me, since I work the night shift. I'm struggling to get a sufficient amount of calories in on my work nights because I sleep half the day away. I came in at under 1000 calories for 01/03 when my current target is well above that number. (I know, I shouldn't be complaining about not eating enough, but I…

My only other suggestion would be to add some electrolytes to your water during your workout. Could just be an electrolyte imbalance from the exertion.

Any cardiac issues? High blood pressure? That would be the direction I'm going in.

Count me in! I was doing well on the weight loss wagon, then I got pregnant, had my little girl 8 weeks ago, and now I am ready to finish this journey.

The first few weeks (and quite possibly the first few months!) you'll find you lose at a rapid pace, just stick with your dietary restrictions and pace yourself when eating to avoid vomiting. My husband had a sleeve done in 2011 and lost 125 pounds, most of it within the first 6 months.

Twice a day weights is excessive. I know a lot of people like to weigh daily first thing in the morning to keep themselves on track and honest, but your weight fluctuates throughout the day so how accurate are your readings if you're weighing multiple times a day? If it's a practice that causes you to stress or beat…

I promised myself two days ago that I will no longer berate and degrade myself with negative self talk. I'm my own worst enemy, and I've abused myself both mentally and physically for a long time. If I wouldn't allow other people to treat me like crap, I can't accept those behaviors from myself.

Count me in! I'm 4 weeks post baby and need to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes!

Found out we're having another girl! That makes 3 girls for us, and I'm closing the baby factory for good! Hubby bought me a new tire for the Mag Trainer last night (I think he was tired of hearing me complain about trying to walk in 100 degree heat!), and it kicked my butt to ride my mountain bike with the same gear…

Definitely check with your OB. I'm a nurse and I don't even trust my own judgment with appropriate weight gain, so I told her my concerns at my last appointment and she gave me excellent guidelines and recommendations. It's difficult to say what's appropriate given the vast variations in body types and medical histories.

I was 185 (5'6") and I'm now 19 weeks. I've been showing for about two weeks now but because my former pudge firmed up at around 13 weeks I've been unable to wear my old clothes since then. Edited to add that my OB told me to keep it under 25 pounds or she'd start to harp on me. :)

So glad to find a MFP pregnancy group! I'm due 11/12/13. :) Did 30 minutes on the mountain bike today (hooked to the stationary trainer indoors) and it felt SO GOOD to be back in the saddle. Also doing a squat challenge, lunge challenge, and push ups for body weight strength training. Anatomy scan is next Monday!

Body For Life is a free no count program too, but you have to be able to put in the intense workouts to go hand in hand with the foods they want you to eat. It's basically lean meats, vegetables, some fruits, whole grains, limited dairy, really quality, clean eating and they run challenges in 12 week cycles with one…

Bacon cheeseburgers and beer (Palisade Brewing Co's Dirty Hippie with a slice of orange, or Suds Bros. Brewery's chocolate stout-YUMMO!)

I am offended that you only asked for "smart" people. Delete this thread now.

Sent you a request! :)

Welcome! I'm also 35 and am currently around 180 lb, highest weight was over 220 lb. I've got two teenage girls (17 and 14) and work outside the home as a triage nurse (via telephone), so I'm also sitting down quite a bit. I'm aiming for 140, but you're welcome to add me and I keep my food log public. Maybe it will help…

Congratulations! 9 inches is amazing and 4 pounds in one month is exactly within the parameters of losing weight at a healthy, stable rate. Do your clothes fit better? Do you feel better? If you've answered yes to either of these questions, keep doing what you're doing and tell the scale to take a hike. You're making…

^^^THIS. My husband had a gastric sleeve done almost two years ago and lost over 125 pounds, but he's VERY careful about getting his protein in and is active. He trail bikes, hikes, and does p90x, and he doesn't eat garbage. Speaking as a nurse who has worked with post op bariatric patients, if you get the surgery and…

Sometimes, but not always. I've had a recent change in my schedule (same employer but now 12+ hour shifts) so I haven't quite gotten into the swing of consistent exercise on my work days, and I don't always have time or enough appetite to eat back all of my calories (I'm a triage nurse). I'm a work in progress! :D

Working mom here too! I have two daughters, 17 and 14 and work full time, 12+ hour shifts. It isn't always easy, but I've been trying to make taking care of myself a big priority!

Have you tried swimming? Might help with getting some calorie-burning movement in while your injury heals, and it's such a gentle workout that it's usually more fun than "work". Also, stop focusing on the number on the scale if it's driving you crazy. I had an unhealthy obsession with the scale and had to stop because it…

We're pretty close in goals. I'm 35, currently somewhere around 180 (I don't weigh often because I have an unhealthy obsession with the scale), and am aiming for 140, eating protein, complex carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, and exercising. Welcome!

Either he'll do it for himself or he won't do it at all. Encouraging him may only feel like nagging and it will drive a bigger wedge between the two of you. Keep taking care of yourself! If he thinks you should put him before yourself, then he's a douche and he can pound sand.

Welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Heavy lifting won't bulk you up, but it WILL help with dropping more weight and make you look amazing. Maybe book a single session with a trainer at the gym and give them your fitness goals so they can get you pointed in the right direction?

You know what they say about assumptions.... I'm in this for the long haul as well, but I'm well aware that I'm far from perfect and I DO fall off the wagon. That doesn't mean I'm following a fad diet, it means I'm a human being. Good luck to you though.

Feel free to add me! I'm an RN as well, working in palliative care. :)
