  • I've found my 29 points are about 1100 calories then if I added in my fruit and veggies it worked out at about 1500 calories so it was much the same for me. I do find if I track the weight watchers way I tend to eat more fruit and veg than if I do calories alone. P.S. I don't go to ww meetings I just have the shopping…
  • I'm 5'9" and am currently 158, I started at 197 (post-baby!) and my goal is 150. I may reassess when I get there - but at the moment I seem a bit stuck where I am.
  • I found that the first 3 or 4 days were the worst and then it was manageable, that was for every level though! You just get the hang of one and then the next makes you hurt again. I found too that the aches and pains would move around, the first few days of level one was my legs, then it moved to my arms and so on. Do keep…
  • What is the 'C-sit position'? Thanks for all the other suggestions too!
  • I still wear a bikini - despite having been torn apart by stretch marks when pregnant. My sister told me to chase any man who frowned upon me screaming 'it is your kind that did this to me!!!' So far I haven't had to!!
  • When I started back running the biggest sports bra I could find (that I could afford) was a 16 F Triumph Triaction. It turned out to be the most awesome running bra ever!! I'm now down to a 14DD (which I think is a 36DD) and am mourning the fact that it is now far too big!! I also am a fan of wearing a pullover type bra…
  • I struggle with motivation and things that have worked for me are: setting realistic short term goals (ones that I am going to actually have a snowball's hope of achieving - like exercise 3 times a week), focusing on the food first - I know people bang on about how important exercise is, and it is, but I kept giving up as…
  • I used to run and I'm pretty sure I was a walker. Then I did an outward bound course and ran a half marathon (it was actually 2km longer) and my goal was to run the whole way and I did. Ever since then I can run as far as I want. I can't run as fast as I want though, and if I'm unfit I go really slowly, but I can run…
  • I was in the same boat, but I've done it!! Not only that I also lost the baby weight that I was hanging on to from my baby's big sister!! My one piece of advice is to keep on trying, if you fall off the wagon pick yourself up, dust yourself off and climb back on again.
  • I tried for years to lose weight and I've now (as of this morning) lost over 18kg (or 40+lbs). The only difference between all those other times and this time is that this time I haven't given up. Please don't give up!! It isn't a quick fix, but in a years time you'll look back and either be so happy you stuck with it or…
  • I'm in NZ!! (Most people outside Australasia think that NZ is in or attached to Australia so I guess we're neighbours!! )
  • Chickpeas have an AMAZING amount of calcium in them!! I think they are called garbanzo beans in America (not sure where in the world you are  )
  • The best fitness for weight loss is anything that you will do consistently!! It doesn't really matter what it is, as long as you do it. Sometimes people set themselves a huge plan which is overwhelming and so basically sets you up to fail, try to have realistic goals, especially in the beginning. Once you have built up…
  • Sometimes I do, if I have eaten too soon before starting to exercise. Also sometimes if I'm pushing myself really, REALLY hard I'll feel sick. I am also a person who goes red like a beetroot and stays that way for a long time afterwards. I think it is because I'm so pasty?!? Anyway, I now know I need to have at least 1.5…
  • Hehehe - not a problem! It has been driving me crazy for the last couple of weeks so I've been experimenting, I'm glad my research might help others too!!
  • Hi there, I'm from NZ too - feel free to add me if you like
  • The ones I wear are a bit like these: http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpageWRA-MWEC12.html
  • Here you go, I've been having trouble, I was wearing it higher, under my bra elastic but I kept on having a heart rate of 0.0, I have found if I wear it lower and tighter it works better. (Please excuse the stretch marks!!)
  • I wear running tights - it is the best thing I ever did! No more chafing at all!! I have 3 pairs of knee length ones and wear them whatever the weather and whatever the season.
  • Hi there, I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, I'm starting back at full time work on Monday after a year off on maternity leave (eekk!!) I'm also a Kiwi so might track similar foods etc. Feel free to add me if you like!! :flowerforyou:
  • I can do 20 press ups on my toes, possibly more now that I think about it, I haven't tried!! I like all the plank variations, like mountain climbers, twists, arm and leg raises, toe taps and so on, I think they really have helped my strength and have helped me be able to do press ups.

  • I actually prefer running in the rain - which is a good thing as I live in New Zealand and it rains A LOT here!! I agree with all the posts above, but would also suggest running in a cap - that way you don't get too much water in your eyes and can see where you're going!
  • I'm pretty sure the OP is a guy!!
  • You could get a whole lot of snack cup air tight containers. I don't see why you couldn't pre-mix the powders without them deteriorating, I think it would only be a problem if you added any liquid. Oh, or you could buy one of these things that you use to store baby formula :…
  • I haven't read the other replies so skip me if someone's said this already!! You only need to be motivated a day at a time - try to only worry about today and forget about tomorrow and yesterday, if you are successful most of the time then you will get there!! I can't think about more than a day without getting overwhelmed…
  • You look amazing!! If I had to guess your weight in your after shot I would be so wrong!! You don't look 200lbs at all, more like 175!! Great going :flowerforyou:
  • Budget Milk (NZ) - Extra Slim, after that is Pams (NZ) - Porridge Oats Can you guess what I have for breakfast every day?!?
  • I lost 10cm off my tummy in 33 days doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred when my baby was 7 months old...
  • This may not be helpful to you, but for me?!? I'd hire a babysitter so I could go running 3X a week without having to juggle everything or go in the dark!!
  • If you use dried red kidney beans you can't cook them in a crockpot without boiling them vigorously for 20-30 minutes before hand, there is a toxin that needs very high temperatures to destroy it in red kidney beans and apparently a slow cooker (or crockpot) doesn't get hot enough). Could you get one of those plug in hot…
