Main thing to be aware of is that you need to treat your abdominal muscles carefully. If they have separated then crunches are the worst thing you can do for them. Google 'transverse abdominal exercises' and you should find some things that are suitable. For me I found that I could concentrate on eating well, or exercising…

Thanks! I've fixed it now.

Yay!!! This drives me crazy (as does the obsession with putting in random apostrophes or leaving them out) so thank you!! :flowerforyou:

Usually around 110/60 sometimes lower. I have to be careful about standing up too quickly or I pass out. I remember getting my tonsils out when I was 16 and the nurse took my blood pressure. Then I walked past her in the hall as I went to the loo and she came back in and took it again as she said no one should be able to…

Yes, but I wasn't losing for AGES until I bought a HRM and found out that mfp was giving me way too many workout calories! A lot of the time I was eating up enough to make my deficit only 150 or so per day and then I guess inaccuracies in food logging (although I do weigh and measure everything it is not an exact science)…

I used every lotion and potion while pregnant (bio oil in the mornings and cocoa butter in the evenings) but I have millions of stretch marks  I think it is genetic, you either have skin that stretches or you have skin that doesn't. On the up side my marks have always been a sort of silvery colour. So maybe the oil…

I guess you could choose a number somewhere in between?!? But in my experience I have found mfp to be too high so maybe go with the lower to be on the safe side. I have just got a HRM myself and sometimes the difference is mind blowing! Plus it explains why I haven't been losing for a while, as I was eating back my…

I haven't given up anything really, but I have found that I don't drink my calories the way I used to (orange juice and Milo - a hot chocolate drink, just in case it doesn't exist outside of NZ!- in particular)

Bump!

I'm doing mfp while breastfeeding. I get an extra 300 calories a day (as my baby is 10 months and also eats solids) if your supply is already established then they suggest at least 500 calories extra a day or to set your calories to maintenance and your baby will make the calorie deficit so you will lose. I have also lost…

Hi there, I'm not a single mum but am one with no me time (I have a 3 year old and a 10 month old). Things that have been working for me are DVDs and Tabata workouts (google it they really work!!) also I do a Mums and Bubs bootcamp and have been doing the bootcamp drills at home. Keep up the good work!!

It is pretty normal with the shred. Someone (sorry I can't remember who) explained it to me by saying that when you put your muscles under stress then they flood themselves with water as it helps them to repair (and get stronger) so although you are weighing heavier if you keep it up then eventually your muscles won't be…

I've just got a Polar FT7 and it has a lot of different sizes - I have small wrists and it fits me fine, but there are plenty of notches to let it both in and out!

I watch but don't actively try to change things apart from watching my calcium and fibre intakes as I want to make sure I'm getting enough of those. I seem to be under most things apart from carbs so I'm thinking of trying to up my protein.

I'll be 34 in July! Thanks for the complement!!!

Josee - 33?

Yes, BUT it depends how you calculate them. I was eating mine and not losing and it was doing my head in - so I bought a HRM that works out the calories burned (it is a Polar FT7F) and it turns out what mfp's database thinks I burn and what I actually burn are very different. It seems I burn approx 200 calories less than…

I used to eat constantly while preparing dinner then sit down and eat a full dinner (even though I really didn't feel like it). I now know that afternoon is my real danger time and I often find myself standing looking in the pantry for something to eat. A couple of things that have helped me is to brush my teeth as it…

I still hate it for the first 10 minutes of every run, after that I love it!!!

Add another one to the list  Auckland New Zealand for me!

Do planks!! In levels two and three you do a lot of planks so it would be good to get a head start. Oh, and the leg pain eases up after 3 or 4 days, then the arm pain begins. Actually then it comes back at the beginning of the next two levels as well  BUT if it is any consolation, I went for a long run on Saturday…

I was going to start on April 1 but woke up this morning thinking I should stop putting it off and start today!
