I almost always work out before breakfast and have had no issues. I actually prefer it. Your body has plenty of fuel stored, so not eating before your workout isn't going to do any harm.

Please feel free to tell me it's none of my business and/or not answer, but I'm curious if your medicine has to do with a sleep issue... I ask because I feel like I require an absurd amount of sleep to function and feel "normal," and even when I go for periods of time where I'm consistently getting the "recommended"…
-
I feel fully rested and function well with 9-10. I'm pretty good with 7-8. Unfortunately on weeknights, I usually only get 6.5-7, and then sleep about 10-11 on weekends because I'm so tired. Anything less than 6 and I'm a complete zombie. I'm totally making it a goal to get at least 8 hours on weeknights. I have also…

Mine is open to friends. You can add me if you'd like; I need some more active friends, and also like to see what other "normal" peoples' intakes look like. I try to maintain a deficit without denying myself any food. Nothing is really off limits, just working on moderation.

I eat from roughly 12-8pm each day (sometimes the window moves a little earlier or a little later depending on my hunger level). I drink as much water and black coffee as I want before 12pm. I love IF because I like to eat food in larger quantities, so saving all my calories for an 8 hour window makes me feel much more…

Our stats are pretty similar. Added ☺️

Way to go! I'm down about 13 pounds, but still have a ways to go. Feel free to add me! I need more motivating/active MFP friends! :)

I've started looking for more "short term" motivators when it comes to exercise. While exercise can help you lose weight, it won't happy overnight, so if that's your only motivator, you might quit before it actually starts to happen. I like how I feel when I'm done exercising. I like the energy rush and how productive I…

Sorry, I just read some more of the thread and it looks like you're asking more about what percentage should/can be what would be labeled as "junk food." Honestly, just from a strict weight loss perspective, as long as you're within your calories it doesn't matter the type of food. Obviously if you want to look at overall…

I have never figured out a percentage for my snacking. I think it all depends on preference. I'd rather eat 2-3 really big, filling meals than to graze all day long. However, if I find that I'm getting hungry in the afternoon, and dinner is going to be later, I might eat some yogurt, raw veggies, or a protein bar to hold…

During the week I have black coffee. On weekends I have brunch with my hubby and it's usually eggs benedict (if we go out) or eggs, bacon, and toast (with ghee! ❤ ) if we stay home.

They aren't all under 150, but you could cut the portion size. Here's what I'm currently obsessed with for snacks: carrots and radishes with Marietta otria Greek ranch veggie dip, fage yogurt with fruit mix ins, cliff bars (calorie dense but very satisfying), hot tea, low sugar hot chocolate, power crunch protein bars,…

Sending you a friend request! I have about 40-50 (give or take) to lose and need more active friends too!
-
My initial goal is 40 pounds. Once I reach that I'll reevaluate to decide if I want to lose any more. I love lifting too but haven't done it in a long time. Hoping to start back soon!

I'd like to join! I've been up and down, but my most recent weigh-in was Saturday, 10/8 @ 193.

Welcome back. I'm working on attempt # I don't even know anymore but a lot, and many of my friends have gone quiet after my long period of inactivity. I'd love to have this be the attempt that sticks for me, and I recognize a lot of what I've done wrong in the past. I keep my diary open. You can send a friend request if…

You look awesome! What does your modified paleo look like? I'm just curious, because I eat what I call "modified paleo" so I was wondering how they compare lol. I call mine modified because I haven't given up peanut butter (almond butter just isn't the same!), and I still occasionally eat other legumes, as well as bacon,…

You look gorgeous! You must have worked so hard! Congratulations :)

I absolutely agree with this 100%. I am NOT a believer in "all calories are made equal" or whatever that saying is. Eating 1,600 calories a day in sugar, carbs, and processed junk is NOT the same to your body as eating 1,600 calories a day of lean meats, veggies, and fats. Yes, I suppose you can drop "weight" eating 1,600…

Thanks for all the responses everybody. :) To clarify a little, if we elope, it isn't because family doesn't approve or anything like that - just that I'm thinking I might prefer something more intimate and less stressful. The resort I found allows a small number of people to attend, so I'm thinking we may have just…

Looooooove heavy lifting. And I love seeing other peoples' success pics from lifting! Here's my 12 weeks progress from April 1 - June 23.

Definitely a tic tac bladder here. I pee immediately before bed, sometimes twice. If I don't wake up in the middle of the night to pee (which I usually do), I feel like I'm going to explode when the alarm goes off. My fiance is the complete opposite. Peeing is NOT the first thing he does in the morning and it is not the…

You can totally change your body shape if you lift weights to help you lose. In the past I've lost weight, and ended up smaller but with the same shape, same muscle to fat ratio (aka: skinny fat). But I've been lifting heavy for a while now and see really good curves that I didn't have before... I lost something like 7…

Thank you :)

Assuming you get the okay from your doctor (I know nothing about pregnancy and lifting or any type of exercise for that matter), go for it now. I wouldn't wait to lose the weight first, just go for it. You will shred fat like nobody's business if you lift heavy and eat well. Like others have said, don't worry about the…

You can definitely lose weight while maintaining muscle which will help keep you firm. Lifting also burns more calories after you're done than cardio will. If you're gaining muscle your scale weight may drop a little more slowly but you WILL be losing fat. During my 12 week contest, I lost 21 scale pounds, but based on…

Wow guys, thanks again for all these positive comments! I honestly never expected what 12 weeks could bring! For those of you who are asking, here is roughly what I followed... If anybody has more questions, feel free to add me and/or message me. Working Out: This was almost all done just through lifting. I did add in a…

I entered a contest through bodybuilding.com and they require the newspaper as proof of the date. This way they don't have people handing in a before picture followed by a picture of them 10 years ago or something.

Thanks so much for all the positive feedback everyone! :) For people who have been asking about my program: I followed Mike O'Hearn's Power Bodybuilding Program. I did all the lifting but did NOT follow his cardio schedule. I threw in cardio and abs occasionally but definitely not every day. Here is the link:…

Amazing! Great work!
