I'm not a big fan on anybody making comments about anybody else's body. We come in all shapes and sizes. Some part of it is natural, and some of it is hard work. When people do make this comment to me, I try to approach it with empathy rather than anger. I remind them that I am vegetarian, bike to work every day and spend…

Awesome that you are working so hard on your outer appearance. Perhaps you should now do some self improvement on your inside. Those were ugly, hateful words that were meant to hurt somebody.

Add me! :) Also, join the MFP Happy Herbivore group. You'll find more veggies there.

You should have given him a cupcake. To the back of the head!

Steph and others give some awesome advice. My first rule of climbing happiness is to never compare myself to other climbers. I am my own climber with my own set of skills, and I will set my own goals and advance at my own pace. It took me a long time to figure this out but has made a difference in my attitude and…

Can you just ask her not to say that to you anymore because of how it makes you feel? People try to be helpful, but she's probably just oblivious as to what she's doing. Real friends usually have the best intentions.

I don't know you, but I do know that you deserve better. Plus, I hope you are making him sleep on the couch. Your partner is supposed to love you unconditionally.

I had a friend who claims that her complexion cleared up after she quit dairy. I notice that mine gets icky if I've eaten too many fried things.

Thanks! great info and ideas! :)

Oh! I remember those! I kinda enjoyed them, too. ;) I quit via patch 14 years ago. Haven't had a cig since. I felt like smoking controlled my life. Like I was a slave to cigarettes. I am much healthier and happier now. Congrats to all you folks trying to quit. It is a hard thing to do, but so worth it! You will all smell…

I don't know about the weight part, but I do love coconut water. I get dehydrated easily and it seems to have the same impact as gatorade. I don't drink it all the time, but definitely on hot days when I'm climbing or working out. It helps relieve a hangover, too. ;) I drink Amy & Brian's solely because the aluminum can is…

I have to fool myself into exercising. I don't like gyms. I don't like to run (especially to catch a train or bus!). But I do like being outdoors. My primary exercise is rock climbing. I also use a bike to commute. At home, I'll pick up a hula hoop or a jump rope. These things are not boring to me and make me feel good. I…

I climb. If I'm stuck at my desk, I try to step outside in the sunshine. I make an effort to go to beautiful places (climbing makes that easy). I also try to give a call to someone that I love to touch base and chat.

I'll be your veggie friend!

Mercury is a neurotoxin and developing children and fetuses are the most vulnerable populations. As a full grown person, you are not going to be as impacted. Children under 12 and pregnant / nursing women are advised to avoid the larger and older predatory fish such as swordfish, shark, king mackerel and tilefish. The…

You deserve better. You deserve to go to school if you want to. You deserve somebody who is absolutely nuts about you and wants to spend all of his free time with you. You are young and you have options. The world is open to you and you have the power to do whatever you want. If he doesn't support your seeking out school,…

I feel your migraine pain! Mine are caused by MSG. No MSG = no migraines. Except for when a family member / restaurant accidentally poisons me! ;) Pesticides may or may not be the cause of your migraines. However, pesticide-free eating does have the health benefits of reducing your body burden of toxic chemicals. It's a…

How about some fresh cherries or pineapple? I am with you on the sweet tooth. If you can fill the urge with fruit rather than processed foods, you will be on the right track.

I hate the short shorts. I finally wore a pair and I felt like my *kitten* was hanging out. I felt bad for the woman on the pole behind me.

I am on my second groupon for classes. It is a fun activity and a great work out. The environment is positive and woman-friendly. You do a lot of work on your abs and legs to stay in the air, which is exactly what I need! I say go for it, sister!

Prune juice. Lentils. Quinoa. Try going vegetarian for a day or two and see if that works on cleaning out your system. By going veggie for a day, I mean eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Hope you feel better!

I love trader joe's for their exotic snacks. For instance sesame-honey almonds / cashews or dark chocolate honey mints. They also have greener toiletries. What I don't like about trader joe's is that you can't find staple food items because most of their food is 'heat & eat' or semi-prepared. For instance, I couldn't find…

Did you get your tickets? to the gun show? lol

It all depends on what your body tells you. If you are sick, but still motivated enough to get out and do it, then you might actually end up feeling better. However, there are times when my body says 'Tiff, it's time to sleep this off'. Hope you feel better, though!

I'll be your friend! Also, join the happy herbivore group. You'll make plenty of veg-friends there.

i had it REALLY bad until I quit dairy. Sometimes I can't have beer too close to bedtime. There was something on NPR yesterday about alleviating acid reflux through what you drink. The culprits were caffeine, alcohol, and fat: http://www.wbur.org/npr/158097387/got-heartburn-maybe-you-should-rethink-your-drink[

Even if you have to write it on a post it, email or note, tell him this: Believe me. It will hit home and may make a difference. I had to do something similar with my family. Hang in there. You are wonderful, beautiful and you ARE good enough.

It's true, even if it's family:
