  • You look great! And you look so toned now!
  • That's awesome feedback! I just posted mine separately, so I'll pass here. :blushing:
  • All of this.
  • Yep. Have a snack.
  • This! haha. But I take a day off every week, so my weight ALWAYS goes up for a few days and then goes back down. Why would I log that?
  • That is awesome! Congrats! I have a lot of diabetics in my family and I keep telling my mom if she lost weight she could put hers in remission. It's also a heavy dose of reality to help keep me from getting to that point.
  • OP/Mike, I only hope you have to work a job like that for the rest of your life. She wasn't trying to insult you. I'm fairly certain she was genuinely trying to help you and make sure you got the right size. You were just being a jerk. And now she has to deal with real consequences from that debacle.
  • It's all relative. Fat for that person might be 5-10lbs extra or just not toned, where for someone else it's 40lbs extra or more. I've been on both sides of this. Annoyed at the skinny person for saying they're "fat" and annoying to my heavier-than-me friends when *I* complain about being fat.
  • Re: chocolate. I usually only buy the Dove promises chocolate to keep at home. It is decent quality and individually wrapped. I'll have anywhere from 1-3 pieces and that doesn't wreck my diet. And it's too expensive (on my budget) to go crazy and buy lots of it. Snacking while cooking...I have the same problem. I think…
  • You can use the strength training listed under cardio here on MFP, but it's really a shot in the dark. To the best of my knowledge, you really need a heart rate monitor to get a correct calories burned.
  • I was scrawny and then one day, bam, I was fat. I stayed fat until about senior year of high school when I started to lose weight by NOT eating the way the rest of my family did.
  • ha. Yeah. It's weird to see someone list your goal weight as their "fat" weight. :D But 140 is a little higher on the normal BMI range for 5'6.
  • 5'6 and 158 right now. Down from 176. Size 8-10 at the moment. My goal is to get to 145 and reevaluate after that. I may decide 130-135 is ideal then. I'd like to have someone who is a similar size/height among my friends!
  • Overnight oatmeal with greek yogurt.
  • I kind of agree with the "respect the pizza" folks. You probably got A LOT of calories from the cheese. I think you'd be better served getting a normal pizza without cheese. Maybe just getting feta on top so you still get some cheese flavor.
  • I would count herbal tea. I, personally, do not count my coffee even though I drink it black. I would try not to use the flavor packets and stick to hot or cold tea (unsweetened) if drinking plain water is difficult.
  • Could your HRM be messed up? Ignoring the resting rate, that still seems like mega calories for Zumba and a really high HR for Zumba
  • As a rule, I would up the calories and work out more.
  • I also doubt the banana is responsible, unless you are truly just getting that 100 extra deficit. I usually have half a banana in a smoothie or in oatmeal and freeze the other half. No real reason, though. 1/2 just seems to be enough.
  • Been there. Or how about, going to work on a day that normal businesses are closed due to the heavy snow. And getting stuck and having to get towed on the way home. Spent way more than my day of wages. It sucks. It's rape. It's inhumane. And my experience was after I got a B.A. I did find something better though. Hopefully…
  • All of this. So, if you find out what your maintenance level is, you can still track that day and not go over that level of calories if it helps ward off binging.
  • I do an overnight oatmeal that has greek yogurt and peanut butter in it. It keeps me full. I second making sure you get some sort of protein with your breakfast to keep you fueled. And eating smaller portions more frequently throughout the day.
  • This, exactly. If I went home, I'd be tempted to laze about. I take my workout clothes to work every day.
  • The vegetarian dishes or vegan dishes or anything that you can tell isn't cream based. And if you have naan (what's Indian without naan?), keep it to one small piece (a quarter of one of those big pieces).
  • I choose to stay hairy. Well, at least for November-March.
  • What she said! :D Usually on my rest day, I still get some sort of exercise, it's just light. Like a 25-30 min brisk walk, or yoga. And that has usually been enough for me to stay under my calorie limit. I also really don't like taking a day off. Weird to be one of those people.
  • Jesus finds his way into the damnedest things…like tattoo discussions. Anyway, I have three. One consisting of three small celtic knots on my upper back between my shoulder blades. Done at 18. The second one is the phrase "nolite te bastardes carborundirum" on my ribcage and the third is a celtic knot tree of life on my…

  • 17 year age gap, with me at 19 and him at 36. ::hides face in shame:: It was stupid and not a very good experience. I am seeing someone now who is 9 years older than me and it doesn't seem like that much of an age gap for us. He's 34 and I'll be 25 in a few days. Whatever works. But at this point in my life I generally…
  • Like someone else said, today I am wearing a dress that was a smidge too tight before. Now it is SO flattering. And maybe even a little loose.
