  • Ive had the bodymedia fit for about 1month now and i love it. I got the bluetooth link version so i can get real time info on my phone. As far as the differences if you go to their website they have a comparison tool. It will tell you everything you need to know about either. I really don't know the differences off hand.…
  • he's right, if you had only time to do strength or cardio strength would be the best for weight loss, body recomp, and overall healthy living imo. I'm trying to incorporate more strength training myself but have felt very weak during the last couple months while eating a large deficits. I think now that i'm starting this…

  • i agree not all fast food is equal. I love del taco myself over taco bell tho. They have a chicken soft taco that's like 220 calories with high protein and i can eat 2-3 and be stuffed. I don't see any problem with eating at these places. The only issue is sodium but that's not really an issue for me.
  • i just started the c25k and I am cutting back on my cardio. the more you burn the more you may have to eat back. I have in the past did cardio for 60 to 90 minutes 5-6 days a week. imo that is too much for a non pro athlete. last nite i did 30mins of run/walking and burned about 300 calories which was perfect. i didnt have…

  • If you moved it to your calf and noticed a double increase in calories that's probably the issue. I would not do that unless you want to get high numbers that are probably not correct. I know on the stairstepper machine it does not estimate my steps correctly and if I move it to another part of my arm it helps but then I…
  • I beleive I have read your set point can be changed. If you stay at a certain weight long enough your body resets to that weight. As far as I read.
  • Hi, I'm new to this group, but I also have a bmf and I usually burn around 3k a day if I don't hit the gym and 3.3 to 3.5k if i do hit the gym. I am 6ft and 245 so you can judge my size and gauge your results. I don't know your stats but 3k for you sounds pretty high, but it's not out of the question if you are doing a lot…
  • Then you should definetely go with a hrm. they are alot more accurate for exercise from my experience. I use my bodymedia for getting a decent estimate for my total daily calorie burn. It is accurate until I get into higher intensity exercises, then it is estimating low. I dont mind that to much since that extra is cushion.
  • Thats seems very high. I have a bodymedia fit which is about the same thing. For a one hour walk on a treadmill it says I burn less then 400 calories. That is at an incline and im 6ft 248. I believe my device under estimates my burn.
  • Bump for later
  • i just got mine last week from costco.com and they still have the 1year membership online. I believe you can still order it online if you're not a member but there is a surcharge. Not sure though. ps-i saw some on amazon.com last week in the $120-130 range for the link version. That's where id go if i wasnt a costco member.
  • maybe this is the wrong forum for this. bump
  • that's what i thought. I am pretty active to (workout 4-5 days a week). Maybe my metabolism is to low. Hopefully others post their numbers so i can see that average for someone my size.
  • When I set mine up it told me how much to eat based off my goals. Did you set your goals?
  • bump for later reading.
  • i told you what the contributing factor is 2 posts up. Not what you wanted to hear?
  • I thought i read on their website you could integrate other hr chest straps to use with it. I think it was garmin, maybe i'm misunderstood. If you could use a chest strap with it, it seems that would really fix any problems with workout intensity. edit-actually I just checked their site under compare. and it says you can…
  • there are studies that show diet sodas(which is basically what coke zero is) have a negative affect on your body. Look it up. They are not healthy to drink if you're wandering. But if your concerned with sugar they are probably better then regular sodas.
  • Starvation mode occurs when you consume 50% or less of your total calorie needs for an extended period of time. It is not based on your bmr, but your TDEE. In simple terms if you have a bmr of 2000 and a TDEE of 3000 per day. Say you ate only 1500 cal per day that would be a 50% reduction and you would slowly starve…
  • Maybe you would know, if you were to use the chest strap with the bmf would that increase it's accuracy? I know you can incorporate the strap from other companies.
  • Wether leptin is the key factor or not, the fact remains spiking has helped alot of people. There are many benefits both physical and mental that are in play. If done correctly you still maintain a calorie deficit, and imo it keeps your body thinking and not getting used to your diet. It makes sense that if you eat a large…
  • thankfully game of thrones just started back on sunday nites.
  • there's actually a group on here that does this, except it's called spike day. It has worked for alot of people, check the group out if you like more info. spike 84
  • What sumo wrestlers do has no bearing on everyone else. The reason they gain fat is because they are eating way past their TDEE. If they ate that huge meal before bedtime and still had a calorie deficit they would not necessarily gain fat. I know i used to beleive this same thing that eating late makes you fat, but the…
  • Thanks for this info. I just purchased the bfm from costco.com. One thing i noticed is you get 12months free use if you buy from costco.com which made a big difference to me. It was 20 more then the amazon price but the 12mths sub more then covers that. I will try it out when i get it and if i have problems ill take it…
  • we are not saying it's bad to eat 3 or 5 or 8 times a day, just that it does not matter. it does not affect your weight loss from a scientific point. now if you feel better eating 3 a day that's fine. regarding studies that is just one, there are many regarding this topic. what people forget is we didn't always have a…
  • You do realize that's water weight and fecal weight don't you? Regarding gaining 1lb after drinking wine, do you know how much wine you would have to drink to gain 1lb of actual fat? It's alot ps- i looked it up, at 120 calories(average for glass of wine) you would have to drink about 29 glasses of wine at 11pm, and this…
  • how many times you eat a day does NOT increase metabolism. this is not something i heard or broscience, it is published fact from studies that are easily searched for and read on the net. Basically what can increase or decrease your metabolism is how much you eat, not how many times a day. So say you have one person eating…
