I have less than 20 friends. Some of these friends I knew outside of this site...we all joined and found eachother. The rest of the friends I have are people who maybe have similar weightloss goals that Ive "met" on the message boards. I think you can search for people who are similar in their goals and you can friend them.

Your body is adjusting to the moves so maybe you arent getting as sore. I wouldnt take the lack of soreness as a negative thing. Just wait til month 2! Ive read that month 1 is just for preparing you for month 2, and that most of the results come in the second month. I have also read that women can take longer to see…

Exactly what I do. I never do the same work out two days in a row....but I work out 6 days a week. So if Im super sore I just do a different work out. It may hurt, especially getting started, but I either modify moves, or just take it easy. The guilt of skipping a workout is way worse than enduring a little discomfort…

Glad to read this post. I was wondering if I was taking in too much protein. Ive recently started making a point to eat more protein and less carbs. MFP has me at 60g a day, or something, but I usually get close to 90-110g a day. I dont know if that's too much or not but it's what Im doing. Im trying to lose fat but not…

Thanks guys, for all the encouragement. To answer a pp, its the Nashville Half Marathon. November 10th. I saw several mentions of a Hal Higdon...I'll check it out. Ive browsed marathon training programs, but there are lots of different ones out there, and I just dont know what to follow. I kind of trained myself for the 5k…

Saw that you made it to 2 miles. Thats great! Its great motivation to sign up for something...it forces you to keep at it! I was never a runner, and when I started last year....I couldnt run down the street without having to stop. (And we have some serious hills in our neighborhood, too). But with persistence, I got it…

Yes. Like others have said...weight train. Continue to do some cardio, but incorporate weight lifting. You will put on some muscle weight, so the number on the scale may not go down as fast, but the more muscle you have, the easier it will be for your body to burn fat.

Ive done both. Spent 9 months with p90x, and just finished the Insanity program. I am now doing a hybrid of the two. My thoughts: If you're just now stepping it up, I'd start with p90x. Yes, it requires more equipment, but there are easier ways to modify moves and Tony isn't as intense (but I didnt realize this til AFTER I…

Are you asking because you have freckles and are self conscious about them? Freckles are beautiful and unique. I am a redhead covered in freckles. I hated them as a kid, but love them now. I dont really even notice them on myself (even though I am covered!)..its just who I am. I notice when *other* people are freckled, and…

Thank you for this. I do struggle with this exact thing. Ive come so far, and completely transformed myself. Im so proud of what Ive been able to do and Ive inspired many of my coworkers. Im strong, Im healthy, and sometimes I even let myself think I look cute. ;) Back when I was 204, I'd have given anything to be 175.…

I definitely have the stretched skin. You cant fix that, I know. Yes...that does make me look bigger than I think I am. I was this weight in highschool, but a size smaller because I was not as stretched out back then. This belly has carried two big babies in it, too (While being over 200 lbs)! Ive come to terms with the…

Its currently saying like 1353 or something, per day. With an intense work out, it will say I need as many as 1700. I rarely go over 1500.

No, I didnt readjust much. I am going to do that. Yes, I have a food scale, and use it often. No. I actually stopped logging for a while and felt myself slippping, so I started logging again. I have tried to be very honest and log every single thing lately. It adds up, all the little bites. Ive had several special event…

My thoughts exactly on low carb. But I AM trying to cut more carbs. I did p90x classic.

Depends on the work out, and how many cals I "earn" thru workout each day. Some days its around 1300, some days 1600. It really depends on, well...lots of things. (How hard I work out, how much water I drink, how much protein I get, etc). Ive found that when I eat more than 1500 a day for a long period of time, I gain.

Awesome!! :)

Sorry....lots posted while I was typing out my last reply... I did 3 rounds of p90x (so 9 months of it, in the last 3 I incorporated more running), just finished 60 days of Insanity. Actually just started the Hybrid this week. I took a few weeks off about a month ago when I pulled my back at work. I kind of thought THAT…

Thanks for the input so far. I almost feel like a dr would think I was looking for an excuse if I went in asking for tests. And Ive wondered, too, if this is just where my body has "settled" and this is where I need to be. I dont know....Im still "overweight" according to charts, or at least Im at the very tip top of the…

I dont necessarily have any advice, because Im in the same boat as you. Im here looking for suggestions too, and to say that I can totally understand your frustrations. I've been on a 2 month long plateau. VERY frustrating, yes....but what Im doing is a new way of life and I try and look at it that way. Whether I lose or…

I think that is a very reasonable goal. Im very similar (5'4", currently 146-147 but really want to lose about 10 more pounds. Lost 58 so far). People tell me that I dont have 10 more to lose, oh but I do. If I could lift up my shirt and show them the flab that I so desperately try to hide every day, they'd shut up and…
