  • Ah! Thanks so much guys! I'm using the app. I clicked on "today" and there was the calendar. I had no idea, all these years, you could even click on the word. Thanks again!
  • I just ordered it and am waiting for it to arrive. I was put off by it for a long time because it seemed way too testosterone driven for me...but I read lots of reviews that women loved it just as much as the men do, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm currently doing a mostly cardio based work out system and need to get…
  • I work out in the morning religiously. If I save it for the afternoon, I dread the afternoon when I get home from work. My kids kind of govern when I work out....if I want a peaceful workout, I'd better do it first thing in the morning, before they wake up. Alarm is set for 5:00, usually I'm out of bed by 5:20. I work out…
  • Yeah, I saw that. I haven't been tracking anything with fitbit...it's all with MFP and Endomondo. I'm just going to undo it all and start over.
  • Back when I lost the weight, I had a very strict 1,200 cals/day limit. I ate as much food as I could for the least amount of calories. I had it down to a science. I went for a time where I ran 4-5 miles a day, and at only 1,200 cals, you can see how my body was starving. I felt hungry a lot, but I did it to lose weight.…
  • I have the FT4. I'll just add my two cents about it... It worked great for a little while. Then the watch display started saying "Check transmitter". I would, I'd hit reset and it would be fine again for a while. Then it got to where it was saying that pretty consistently. I changed the battery in the chest strap. It…
  • Thanks everyone. Really. I truly appreciate the feedback and helping me think through some things. I had never EVEN considered the cushioned deck on a treadmill. We have a decent NordicTrack and when I first got it, I thought something was wrong with it because the deck bounced so much upon impact. I suppose this could…
  • I did not know this about simulating road running. I just thought a mostly flat treadmill is like the flatter areas on the road. *sigh.....I guess I have to bump it up. ;) ...although I hope to be using the treadmill less and less as the weather gets better. I"ve see the foam rollers. Even watched videos on how/when to use…
  • Don't be discouraged. I totally understand though. I've had to swallow my pride and REALLY slow down outside. When I trained for my half marathon last year, I had gotten down to a 8:45 minute/mile before the race. On the treadmill I generally run anywhere between 9:00-9:45 min/mi (depending on how I feel that day).…
  • Thanks. I know I need new shoes. I guess I SHOULD at least start there. I just didn't even think about that as a possibility (til now) since I've been fine on the treadmill in them. Sometimes it helps to just talk thru things with people!
  • Too many. I'm way overdue for new shoes. You think that's the issue?? Running on the treadmill for so long, the tread on my shoes is actually in decent shape but I know I still compress the inner support. I'm probably about 3 months overdue for new shoes, but until I got back outside, I haven't had problems. The road…
  • I just posted something similar. There is something about running on the treadmill that is considerably different than road running. I'm curious to see the responses here, too. My issue with switching from treadmill to road is that my lower legs tighten up really badly, to the point where I have to stop completely and…
  • Last year when I started all of this, my kids were 2 and 4, and I would work out during their naptime if I was home. If it was a work day, I would just get up very early to get a work out in. I know its tough, but for me (and it sounds like for you too...) working out is a priority, so we just have to find time whenever we…
  • I third this. Sodium is what I immediately think of with that kind of thing. Sure, maybe it has low cals and fat, but its SO incredibly processed and would not be considered "clean eating". I havent had a hot/lean pocket in very long time. That being said.....I do like them. lol
  • Thats TERRIBLE!! I've not had that happen to me, but I can only imagine how hurtful it is. WHY would anyone be so cruel?? Girl, you are doing something great for your body...you're getting out there and moving. On one hand, yeah...it's hard not to focus on the negative. But on the other hand, you are going to be so much…
  • Yep. Thats the one I have. Had it about a month now and love that I can see exactly what I burn. It also enlightened me as to how far off MFP is with exercise calories burned. I turned off the sounds on mine because I also wear it when I lift weights. I dont stay in my zone the whole time I lift, I know that....so I dont…
  • Me too. I eat the same thing every week day. I eat differently on the weekends. But on Sunday afternoons, I prepare 5 salads, 5 morning snacks, 5 afternoon snacks...so that during the week, not only do I eat healthy, but I can just grab and go in the morning. I do switch up the types of foods/toppings from week to week,…
  • Yes. Me too. When its that time, the usual things I eat dont keep me full as long, so Im hungrier all day long...and I tend to let my self eat more (bad) foods than I should. But I suppose it all evens out for me. I mean, I dont go eat an entire cake or whole bag of chips or anything (I crave carbs, seriously bad) but I do…
  • LOL! This made me chuckle. Im going to go ahead and assume you dont take any rest days... ;)
  • "Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated"...I LOVE this saying. Ive seen it quite a few places and I just want to shout AMEN!! when I see it! lol I choose SUnday to rest because I spend so much time preparing myself and the kids for the up coming week of school/work (lunches prepped, bags packed, laundry…
  • Well, to me, its pointless to get all dressed in work out gear and only do "a little" that will only get me like a 100 calorie burn. (That's just *my* feeling...not at all knocking people who DO exercise a small amount on rest days.) I do know rest is very important to let your body recover. I do like being lazy...old…
  • ^^ This. Every word is the same for me. Same workout times and agree with the last statement. I work out Monday through Saturday, rest on Sundays. :)
  • I finished it about 4 weeks ago. You can add me if you want. :)
  • I was kinda like this at first. I dont take compliments well. But Ive had to make myself OK with taking compliments. I still have to fight the urge every time to NOT reply to a compliment with a negative comment. I've MADE myself just say "Thanks!" or, "aww, you're so sweet for saying that!" and smile. The end. No negative…
  • Honestly...it put me in a very "woe is me" mood because Im so disappointed in how my runs are going (having some pain and may have to stop running for a while). Im just so frustrated. HOWEVER, I did 4 miles, so that always makes me feel accomplished. I ate some hearty beef stew for dinner with no guilt.
  • Well I have ZERO interest in anything related to yard work.....but the (very) few times in my life I've done something like that, it was hard work! So absolutely YES....I'd consider it exercise!
  • Thanks everyone. I guess taking time off would be the smart thing to do...even though it is really disappointing.
  • Its really important to be fitted. You never know what kind of shoe fits or feels the best on your foot until you get it on. People who specialize in it can get you into something that works for you, without you having to go through tons of them yourself. I had Brooks Pure Cadence and while they felt great, my feet are a…
