Heh. When I work too hard at Planet Fitness, I'm afraid they'll punch the Lunk Alarm on me. So I try to grunt daintily.

After a year of unimaginable stress and Prednisone, I got on the scale one day and read 202. Never in my life had I weighed that much. I had gained forty pounds in the space of one year. Now I'm off the Pred, and back on the road to health.

Mission Carb Balance tortillas, cut into quarters then baked until crisp. Spread a quarter with a tablespoon of hummus. Or mashed avocado and salsa.

Quoting in full because I think this excellent post bears repeating.

Let's see--1500 calories, low fat AND low carb? I'd be starving, bi*chy, and--well, starving and bi*chy. No thanks.

If I had a late-night snack and am not hungry in the morning (I work out first thing), then usually not. But sometimes, if I'm hungry or didn't get enough sleep, I'll have half a banana or some nuts first. Otherwise it's hard to get through my session. Afterward, I have a breakfast of eggs and cheese and vegetables.

"Your advice: worth every penny I paid for it."

Dang, woman! That is mightily impressive, and you look mahvelous!

I adjusted my MFP recommendation upward as I felt 1300 cals would have me climbing--or eating--the walls. My base is 1420, I always eat back my exercise calories, and I don't sweat it if I go over. And I have cheat days. And I'm losing at the rate that feels right for me. It's not a science, it's an art. :drinker: ETA:…

5'8" and medium frame here. I seemed to maintain quite easily at ~160 (before things went to hell and I put on 40 pounds). After I reach my next mini-goals of 170 and 160, I'd like to get down to ~150. More than that, though, I think I'd look haggard.

Prednisone.

Yes, really, this is a decision you should be making with your doctor. My MIL had terrible nausea with Met; her doc prescribed Omeprazole for that, which seemed to help.

Another thought--do you have urgent care centers in your area? Go to one. You'll be seen that day.

Calm down. I did not say it was the best approach, but if no one is willing to see her right away, she might possibly find some helpful information online. There are reputable medical web sites. This is what health care in this country has reduced us to.

How do you know that this is what the ER docs would do? Have you been in this situation before? My advice: go to the ER (if you can afford it). At least you've done due diligence and perhaps whatever they do for you will alleviate your symptoms until you can get a thorough evaluation from your doc. Failing that, I'd start…

Ugh, don't you just love American-style "health care"? Is there a Planned Parenthood in your area? Maybe they can help.

Sorry, posted the same time you did. I would call and calmly explain that you need to be seen immediately. Don't take no for an answer. Go there in person and make a scene if you have to. If you have a friend or relative who could be a b!tch for you, ask them to help. (Sometimes it's easier to be a b!tch for someone else…

Honestly? This sounds like something that should be evaluated sooner rather than later. You could be having a bad reaction to the birth control; in any case, losing a lot of blood like that needs to be sussed pronto. Call your doc's office and insist on an appointment asap!

I recently quit WW after trying it (online only) for the first time last October. I did lose weight on it; it seems like a fine plan, but not for me. I get too hungry on a low-fat diet; can more easily stick with higher fat/lower carb. After about a month, I started simultaneously tracking my calories on MFP and discovered…
