  • My goals for 2020 are to stay injury free and healthy. I am also possibly going to try again for my first half marathon. January goal is to run 50 miles. 1/2 - Scheduled for 2 miles today but GPS said 2.47 miles. 1/4 - First 4 miler in over 2 years. Only 5 hours of sleep last night due to a late hockey game and an early…
  • @LoveyChar I think the turtle pace is relative. I know I am a turtle right now because my average pace is 13 - 15 minute miles depending on how my asthma is doing. I am also 75 lbs overweight so I know my pace will increase as I lose weight. I would love to have your 11 - 12 minute per mile pace :)
  • I tend to panic in crowds and in unfamiliar places so I tend to stick to the same races. I may try a new one if I am comfortable in the location or if I know the crowd will be small but that may only be once a year.

  • I needed to get in 3 miles today but a snow/rain combination has been coming down all morning and it was to slippery. It's supposed to last until 3PM so I will try to get it in later after J's hockey game. I just hate running unless it's first thing in the morning.

  • I eat Chipotle 2 or 3 times a week and get the same thing every time. I get a kids Build Your Own Taco meal with steak, pinto beans and tomato salsa. I add sides of green salsa and sour cream and get it without shells. I bring it home and add it to a big bowl of lettuce for a yummy texmex salad. As a bonus it comes with a…

  • 1/2 cup each chopped sweet peppers, sweet onion and mushrooms. 1 package ground turkey 1 Tbs tomato paste 1/2 Tbs wostershire sauce Italian seasoning to taste. Form into 3 big patties and broil. Top with a slice of provolone cheese and enjoy. It's 320 calories without the cheese.

  • @MobyCarp - I am sorry about the injury. Sending good thoughts your way.
  • @seanevan10 - Great job! Happy Birthday. @HonuNui - Love the picture. @Orphia - You make a great Wonder Woman!
  • Ditto please
  • @seanevan10 - Happy early Birthday! @MobyCarp - Congrats on the race! The medal looks like a challenge coin. Very cool!
  • @skippygirlsmom - Happy Birthday! @PastorVincent - You are definitely a real runner even if you only use 1 pair of shoes  To add to the shoe debate I have 2 pairs that I rotate between but I just started doing that when I began half training. I do have a third pair new in their box but I am waiting until my current…
  • I went out today for the first time since 7/23 on a soft wetlands trail for 2 miles. My knee didn't hurt but it was really tight. I think I ran for maybe .5 miles and the rest was walking. I tried to only run when the footing was firm and not to stony and walked the really soft, deep bits. It felt good to get out and move…
  • @skippygirlsmom - Wow! To be that young again. I bet she needed a recovery run today. Love the shoes. @amymoreorless - Sometimes those are the best runs. @kristinegift - What kind of gel do you use? @PastorVincent - Great job on both races.
  • @_nikkiwolf_ Day 1 is done. I will try to do Day 2 tonight. The hip flexor stretch and hamstring stretch I've done before also but the felt good. My cat loved the hamstring one because she could kiss my forehead LOL. Can't wait to run tomorrow.
  • @PastorVincent - Happy Anniversary! You marriage is celebrating its 21st birthday! It's legal now.
  • @7lenny7 Welcome back! You will be back to form before you know it. @KatieJane83 - I love the way you think about post marathon nutrition. A direct comparison is the best way after all. My son's hockey goalie coach is based in Philly and is trying to get us to come to his Super Elite camp next year. A cheesesteak…
  • @Elise4270 and @7lenny7 Thank you. I am planning on an easy mile or 2 run on a soft wetlands trail, staying off asphalt as much as possible. I am just nervous about pushing it and prolonging the "Runner's Vacation" shall we say. I am planning to do the Big Game race series in Canton, Ohio that is football centered. When I…
  • Looks like fun I am in.
