  • @CariTJR - I am sorry for your loss.
  • @Ohhim Love the outfit! Good luck to everyone racing today! 5/1 - 2 mi 28 to go Plan called for 20 minutes nonstop but my calves kept tightening up so needed 2 walk breaks to stretch them out. So should I redo the week or continue on with the plan since I didn't do what the plan called for? I finished week 5 of Couch to…
  • Back into the challenge for May after injuring my hip. I have been running the past 2 weeks using the couch to 10k program and it is going well so far. I am setting a conservative goal of 30 miles and a stretch goal of 40 miles. I have a 5k June 11th that I would like to PR in so I want to take it easy and stay uninjured…
  • Congratulations to everyone who made their goals this month and to everyone who achieved a PB!!! I ended up taking most of the month off to try to let my hip heal so no where near my goal but that is fine if I can stay healthy. I getting back into it with couch to 10k and am starting with week 3. 90 second and 3 minute…
  • 3/1 Easy 2 miles 3/3 1 mile on Treadmill. 3/4 2 miles on Treadmill 3/7 1.5 miles on treadmill 3/9 2.0 Hilly miles in the park. 16.5 to go. Got to run my favorite park today. It was hilly so my hip was complaining the whole time. Did 2.7 total but didn't count my warm up and cool down. Going out to buy my own foam roller…

  • 3/1 Easy 2 miles 3/3 1 mile on Treadmill. 3/4 2 miles on Treadmill 20 to go. @_nikkiwolf_ Thank you for your response. I tried the dynamic stretches and foam rolling before and static stretches and more foam rolling after and it helped a little. It was tolerable while running and not to sore after I was done. I did find a…
  • Met with personal trainer today to do strength stuff. Talked a bit about the tightness in my hip and she thinks it is just a really tight hip flexor. She suggested foam rolling, static and dynamic stretching before my next run to see if it helps. Has anyone had any experience with this? I have a few stretches she gave me…
  • First run in over a month and it felt OK. Hip got a little sore half way thru so I started engaging my glutes and core a little more and it eased up a bit if that makes sense. Still a little sore but not any real pain so not sure if I should continue or rest longer. 3/1 Easy 2 miles 23 to go.
  • I am going to try again this month since I think my hip is finally healed and hopefully I don't do anymore stupid things. I am going very low this month and easing back in. I think 25 miles is a safe starting point.
  • Set a goal of 40 last month and missed due to injury so I am going for a conservative 25 miles this month due for that reason and an out of town hockey tournament for son. Also need to focus on strength training to stop this stupid cycle i am stuck in.
  • 1/20 5.0 miles. Had a busy weekend with J's hockey tournament and I have been really tired the last couple of days. Had a good but slow run with some major chafing where you really don't want to chaff but had the park to myself for 1.5 miles which made up for everything. Piriformis is a little sore so I think I need to…
  • Happy New Year everyone. I wanted to hit 25 miles last month for my first month back after injury and I ended up at 30+. I think I will try for a stretch goal of 40 miles as I am trying add miles so I have a longer run once a week and 3 miles each of the rest of the runs. 1/1 4.0 miles. First run of the new year. Tripped…

  • Every so often I feel it necessary to share this with the group, especially since we have so many newbies this month. BLUF: so many of us started small. [/quote] I so agree with this. I know I am only on chapter 2 and I look at what others are doing as future chapters.

  • Royal or Powder Blue and Lime.
  • Thanks for doing this @Stoshew71 !
  • I am in for a blue one. If ladies Xl or if unisex a Large. I can't stand tight shirts. I love the names on the back and the logo on the front, but I am also with the "the cheaper the better" group. $25 is my max budget and I am OK with waiting until we have 20 to order.
  • Fleet Feet does a Weekly group run and a monthly pub run.

  • 12/2 - 3 miles at 4:15am, I am tired but glad I got out as it is supposed to be a rain/snow mix tomorrow. Good start to the month. :) 12/5 - 3 miles. Getting faster but still working on cutting out the walk breaks. 12/7 - 1.5 miles. I tried my hilly park run and it was too much. My piriformis was complaining on the first…
